Decorate a Plain Binder with Vintage Fabrics! Kittywitty Papercraft 2021-05-10 | This is just a short, fast-motion video showing how I took a plain (well, with polka dots!) binder and added some scraps of vintage fabrics to it, to dress it up a little! You can certainly use new fabric scraps! I made this binder to keep track of materials for a class I am taking. It's helping me feel much more creatively inspired, which is important for the class I'm taking! :DAll you need to do this fun little project is:* a binder (mine is an older Martha Stewart for Staples brand)* 1-inch wide double-sided tape (I love this brand: amzn.to/3xWqZSt) (affiliate link)* a piece of Tyvek paper (cut to whatever size you like!) Simple Junk Journal Pages! Junk Planner Set-Up Walk-Through! Kittywitty Papercraft 2020-08-28 | Take a peek inside the finished set-up of my DIY Junk Planner! This is a glorified flip-through! It's more like a flip-through with me describing my thought process as I made this, along with some tips if you would like to make one, too! If you would prefer to just see the planner without all the talking, you can click the little "gear" icon on the lower right side of the video and choose "Playback Speed" and select '2'. And you can turn the sound for the video off also. A Brief History of Little Golden Books and How to Determine Their Value - For the Junk Journal Maker Kittywitty Papercraft 2020-07-16 | Sharing how Little Golden Books got their start and some fun tidbits about the early books, along with things you need to know to determine their value.Please let me know if you have any questions!NOTE: Taking vintage books and turning them into journal covers and pages is a very personal decision. The way I look at it (so this is only my opinion), because over 2 BILLION (as of January 2020, according to their publisher, Random House) Little Golden Books have been published, the very small number of people who turn them into journals will make hardly a dent in that number. There are still many, many copies of the vintage LGBs in existence.As of this writing, there are 5200 listings for LGBs on eBay alone. The listings sell and more are listed, so there are always thousands available on any given day. Of course, that doesn't account for the books in thrift stores, antique shops, estate sales, yard sales, etc., or the ones in people's homes! Most junk journal creators do not use rare, excellent condition, 1st edition books that might have some value ($24-40 range). They typically choose books that have worn edges, writing on the inside covers, some torn pages, etc. And, I would make the point that turning these well-loved books into journals, gives them new life and meaning! These books are not being destroyed or thrown in the trash. The covers are kept intact and the pages are added among the other pages of the journal.
