This all started back In 2007 when Norway was the first country to widely adopt it for their conventional force, grabbing more than 60,000 rifles. Fast forward ten years and In 2016 France began swapping out their FAMAS for the when they placed just a massive Cosco size bulk order of 117,000 rifles. Now they were on a rolls because only A year later in 2017 the entire United States Marine corps switched to the HK416. They’ve since acquired 14,000 of these rifles to their front line combat roles. But you might not have heard about it because they made tiny adjustments to the weapon and renamed it to the M27 IAR, Norway put an N at the end of the name and France tossed an F to throw us all off. If it looks like a duck quacks like a duck and shoots like an HK416 then it's probably an HK416. The rabbit hole gets even deeper as we continue to dig. By 2021 the German military made the call to switch to the HK416 by ordering 118,000 of the rifles. But they named it to the G95A1 but it’s basically the same exact weapon with some minor improvements and upgrades. That’s a grand total of at least 309,000 rifles ordered under one name or another. I know I sound paranoid when I say they are listening to us but just take a look at (beh-hoo-KAHL) Bejucal Cuba. In 1962 at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, this military satellite and radar station here was crucial for monitoring the airspace around the island as they looked for U.S. spy planes and other threats. And ever since then Rumors of these spy stations have been around for decades. Just look at this 1964 declassified document from the CIA, you can see of US intelligence has long been analyzing photographs of their communication stations capabilities. But Some of the earliest public statements I could dig up on the matter come from 2005 when Albert Santoli first testified on this to the US congress’s china economic security review commission. His testimony laid out all the reasons But Today this base has recently undergone some major renovations. Take a look at these satellite images from Google Earth that show the construction of a new SIGINT facility identified by CSIS.Large scale construction began in 2017. The white ball on top of the finished structure appears to be a radome, what is a radome you ask? It’s a structural weatherproof enclosure that protects an internal radar system. It basically keeps it safe and sound from the nasty elements. When I measure it , we can see that the radome appears to be approximately 20 feet in diameter. Based on the size, we know it could cover a number of different radars from satellite communications to military-grade radar for tracking and surveillance. How does the F-16 match up against the Russian fighters they’ll be flying against? What tactics and strategies will Ukraine deploy them with? And which types of new support aircraft might significantly enhance the F-16s firepower? On August 4th, President Zelensky announced that the first batch of the much anticipated F-16 Fighting Falcons were in-country and had begun combat operations as part of the Ukrainian Air Force. I’ll say right off the bat, there is a tendency by some publications to get overhyped on weapon systems and create outsized unrealistic expectations for the effect they will have on the war in Ukraine. On the other hand, there’s also an effort by the pro-Russian media to downplay the positive cumulative effect these weapon systems like the F-16 have for Ukraine. I think you’d rather me just give you the straight skinny. A total of around 85 F-16’s have been pledged by NATO countries. Of that 6 have been delivered so far and are in active combat operations, the rest may take years to arrive in batches. By august 27th these jets were deployed for the first time in active combat. I wanted to wait until now to give until some facts were in to give you an assessment. The F-16 initially successfully intercepted and shot down incoming Russian cruise missiles and drones. This mission is vital for Ukraine from a strategic point of view because the Russian missiles are aimed at their power generation facilities. But August 29th saw one of the worst Russian missile attacks when 74 drones and 5 missiles were launched. An F-16 pilot who goes by the callsign moonfish was responding to a wave of russian missiles. During the engagement radio operators lost contact with Moonfish’s F-16. The Ukrainian government confirmed his plane crashed and the pilot was KIA but there is no word yet on whether it was shot down, mechanical error or something else. However the thing that jumps out to me about this engagement is that it reveals to us more information about the Ukrainian Air Forces’s strategy with the F-16. The aircraft was not lost flying near Kursk or Sumy and it was not lost near the border while dropping glide bombs. It appears that early assessments were accurate and Ukraine is using the F-16 so far in a defensive role to intercept missiles. And we’ll get more into why exactly that is later in the video. The F-16’s are tasked with air defense duty. One of the huge advantages Ukraine is about to gain that has a huge impact on the F-16 , that a lot of people aren’t talking about is the Saab 340 airborne early warning radar aircraft. Sweden announced in May they were sending 2 which will significantly enhance their air and sea surveillance capabilities. This gets talked about less because it’s not a sexy F-16 firing missiles at peoples faces but it’s actually a completely new capability because Ukraine has no radar aircraft currently in their inventory. The only way to take more full advantage of the F-16 and its weapons is with this asset. This is essentially a twin turbo prop plane with a fancy high tech radar slapped ontop and software to communicate with the F-16. It absolutely kills me in my heart of hearts to use the defense buzzword word “force multiplier” but that’s exactly what this is for the F-16. ptwu pwtwu gross buzzword. The reason its a force multiplier is because its radar can identify and track incoming missiles then pass that target data to the F-16’s weapons systems. Its like when you use the Satellite Uplink in Command and conquer to reveal the fog of war over the battlefield. It gives you a clear view of the enemy movements. Once these two are paired and once more aircraft arrive is when we could start to see the Ukranian F-16 switch to a more offensive role. Their only downside is that they fly slow at 300 miles per hour so they’re a bigger target as we’ve seen Russia has already lost 2 of their radar aircraft. However, Ukrainian pilots are fighting with some disadvantages. Their Russian adversaries outnumber them in total aircraft 13 times over, and Russian pilots have access to the latest versions of Eastern fighters and weapons. The US Army / Air Force and Marines can attack many of these sites are over 100 meters underground. Even the United States of America GBU-57 bomb, designed specifically for a doomsday scenario, can only penetrate up to 60 meters of mountain before it explodes. To destroy these sites, Israel and the US would need a better bomb. But even if such a bomb exists, splitting a mountain is no simple feat. Air craft carriers, f-18 fighters, b-2 bombers, b-21 stealth bombers and F-15s stastioned in Jordan air base would be available. Delta Force and other U.S special forces green berets and SOF units could deploy on the ground to take them out.The existence of these deeply buried facilities was one of the primary motivations behind the U.S. Air Force’s development of the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bunker buster bomb in 2004. However, the actual capabilities of this bomb remain classified, and estimates suggest that it may fall 30 to 40 meters short of reaching the deepest Iranian facilities. You can actually see China’s skyscrapers with the naked eye from there. This news was a major shock to the world and was re-run by dozens outlets. This is the very definition of big if true! But a decision like that would have had to be cleared by the US INDO PACIFIC commander Admiral John (Ah-kee-LEE-noh) Aquilino. He’s the guy in charge of operations in this region. Here’s what he had to say about that story when the U.S. House Armed Services Committee asked him about it: 2:00:00 So the U.S government is firmly denying that’s the case. The denial is consistent with the broader U.S. foreign policy of strategic ambiguity regarding Taiwan. So the big question is are these soldiers actually permanently deployed or rotational? What’s the difference between rotational and permanent stationed troops and why does the distinction even matter?Here’s the facts that we know for certain. This United States congressional research document says 40 US personnel helped trained Taiwnese troops in 2023 on a rotational basis. What were those 40 doing? The US Defense Department said they were responsible for guarding the American institute in Taiwan which is the unofficial US embassy in the country. The U.S keeps any training relatively quiet so as not to provoke China. They state “U.S.-Taiwan defense cooperation is robust, but has been conducted largely out of the public eye due to the unofficial nature of the U.S.-Taiwan relationship and concerns that significant, public enhancements of defense ties could provoke Beijing to step up coercion and threats against the island, or even trigger the conflict the United States seeks to deter.” But We also know that a year later In 2024 the number of rotational US military personnel in Taiwan increased from 40 to as many as 200. It seems unlikely they’re also just guarding the American institute. We can get a pretty good idea of what their missions is by looking at the annual National Defense Authorization Act. The National Defense Authorization Act is a United States federal law that governors the policies of the U.S. Department of Defense. It’s Passed by Congress, and it's critical for outlining defense strategy. Congress has required that the US military do several things “practical training and military exercises with Taiwan” as well as maintain “exchanges between defense officials of the United States and Taiwan at the strategic, policy, and functional levels.” Then there is the 2023 Taiwan ENHANCED RESILIENCE act which requires the US military to do a full audit of Taiwan’s ability to defend it’s critical infrastructure including it’s transportation and communications networks. It requires a full rundown be made on Taiwan’s ability to employ their long range precision fires and missile defense systems. They could be taken apart into smaller pieces to be transported over mountain terrain easier. Not much firepower. However, Right After World War 2 ended the CCP straight up issued a directive that all soldiers and citizens had to collect shells that had been left behind by the Japanese army. This grass roots campaign if you want to call it that , collected 700 artillery pieces and 500,000 rounds that had been abandoned. Each cost the Navy about $38 million at the time, adjusted for inflation that’s $135.5 million in today’s money, and was the first fourth generation aircraft in the American arsenal, also nicknamed the “teen series” with the F-15, 16, and F/A-18 following the Tomcat later. In 1973, Libyan dictator and future head of the Condoleeza Rice fan club, Muammar Gaddafi cut off international access to the Gulf of (SID-rah) Sidra, a massive 22,000 square mile section of the mediterranean off of Libya’s northern coast. His military forces aggressively policed the area, and Gaddafi declared the demarcation line along the border of the Gulf as “The Line of Death.”. Between 1973 and 1980, Libya’s military would often harass nearby American and NATO navies stationed in the Mediterranean, however the United States did not recognize Gaddafi’s claims of ownership in the Gulf, and asserted that it was still considered international waters. When countries, especially dictatorships, claim to own a piece of the ocean that falls outside of their national borders, the normal response from other countries wanting to sail in said water is what’s called a Freedom of Navigation operation, or FON. These usually consist of Navy battle groups being sent into the contested areas in question and saying “What are you gonna do about it?” National claims become a lot fuzzier in the ocean compared to clear land borders, and according to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, territorial waters only extend 12 nautical miles off the coast. I think some of their justifications are more reasonable than others. There are several publicly available images of their security forces using crossbows during civilian riots, such as the massive Xinjiang riots of July 2009. The advantage in this situation is that Crossbows can be fitted with non-lethal bolts when you need to capture people instead of immediately sending them to meet their ancestors. It has a far longer range than other non lethal options like tasers and net catchers. But options like rubber bullets are likely just as safe and offer far greater rate of fire so that doesn’t fully explain what’s going on here. Written by: Chris Cappy & Armando Duarte GalánEdited by: Savvy Studios As of 2024 the US army has 2,500 Bradley Infantry fighting vehicles of all variants that are in operational service with an extra 2,800 chilling lying around in storage. The US army has enough bradleys in a warehouse to arm several small countries several times over. The current plan is to upgrade 700 of them to the new M2A4 version by 2029. So that old one was the Bradley, this,,,, is the uh Chadley? According to this congressional budget research document the average age of these Bradleys is about 10.2 years old. (pg8) so If the army drives their IFVs like I drive my cars they still have another couple of decades left in them.Just how different is the M2A4 Bradley from the older versions? It’s basically an entirely different vehicle so don’t dead name it. First of all the new hull is larger and thicker on the bottom to counter land mines. The vehicle is also seven inches higher from the ground so that troops don’t slam into the ceiling and break their neck if they hit a mine. The larger hull increased the amount of Bradley reactive armor tiles that could be added for protection. However all these modifications came with a downside: they started to add a lot of serious weight; in its glow up, it's gone from about 25 tons to 40 tons today. With the added weight the Bradley started to slow down losing 10 kilometers per hour of max speed. So it was cruising at 56 km/h and was starting to sag lower to the ground. This might not sound like a big deal but we have to remember the Bradley is designed to operate alongside the Abrams main battle tank while it chugs along at 68 kmph. One of its main advantages is its maneuverability. That’s why the A4 version received a 675 horsepower 8 cylinder Diesel engine and hydraulic transmission as well as suspension and track upgrades to restore ground clearance and suspension reliability. That’s a big step up from the original 500 hp engine it had back in the 80s. We’re swapping out the old rifled cannon for a new Rheinmetall produced Leopard 2’s L55A1 smoothbore cannon that came out in 2019. The Challenger 3 will now be able to handle higher pressure ammunition. Which is huge because that lets you fire next generation tank munitions like the German DM 11 multi purpose programmable tank round. The DM 11 allows you to choose between 3 different firing modes on one single shell. Perfect For the tanker who hates commitment. After your gunner loads it up, an electronic module then programs the time delay fuse on the round so that it detonates at a specific point in the projectile's flight path. You can actually choose the exact coordinates that you want to send hate to. Gunners can quickly set the high explosive round to explode either above, in front or inside the target after penetrating a wall. It consisted of a charge and then a warhead stored separately inside the hull of the tank that needed to be combined. But now that they’ve switched to NATO standard ammo it’s a single piece. What this means is you get extra room for the rounds to be stored in a separate protected compartment safely away from the crew. There is now the inclusion of a blast door to protect crew from ammunition cook off.
