Color Theory
Color Theory - Disappear (Official Audio)
updated
I spent most of my life locked in a losing battle against so-called “intrusive thoughts.”
You can't stop your mind from thinking any more than you can stop your ears from hearing or your skin from feeling.
Thoughts arise spontaneously, all on their own. Over time I learned to treat them as welcome guests rather than intruders.
Surrender.
All non-vocal sounds come from the Elektron Syntakt. The project file is included in the Bandcamp album download.
THOUGHTS CAN'T HURT YOU
©2024 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Your thoughts are never dangerous
Accept them without prejudice
The only passage out is through
What you resist comes back to you
You think your house a cluttered mess (these patterns)
Wrangling with uninvited guests (like phantoms)
Who vandalize your furniture (don’t chase them)
Be grateful for each visitor
Thoughts can’t hurt you
Don’t usher them away
Thoughts can’t hurt you
Invite them to stay
Thoughts can’t hurt you
They whisper like a breeze
If you keep the doors open
They’ll come and go as they please
Can’t reason your way out of this (unravels)
There’s no one here to bargain with (like shadows)
Who do you think you’re talking to? (point backward)
That voice you hear, it isn’t you

I never set out to make a “dark” record.
It just sort of happened. Over the past two years, I wrote about whatever I was feeling at the time, and certain themes naturally emerged.
While I’ve endured more than my fair share of challenges recently, I assure you this isn’t some thinly disguised cry for help! I’ve always been fascinated with bleak subject matter. The older I get, the more eager I am to explore the shadowy depths of the human spirit.
Rest assured, it’s not all death and decay. There’s plenty of optimism to balance things out. In fact, the set kicks off with what might be my most hopeful song yet.
Is it my best album? Quite possibly. It’s certainly the best sounding! It’s also noteworthy because, for the first time, I did all the design and layout myself.

The allure of potential and the thrill of the moment intertwine, as emotions are captured like photographs. “The Darkroom” explores the intensity of momentary passions and the dance between desire and expression.
THE DARKROOM
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
I sense potential here
A certain tension in the air
Despair
And with a flash of light
Embrace the beauty of this night
Delight
Seen through a different lens
We could be more than friends
Strange developments
Happening too soon
In the darkroom
Dance in your Sunday best
Cast off the weight upon your chest
Express
Entrap me with a pose
A poem flirting in your prose
Exposed
Under a waning moon
The scent of madness fills the room
Perfume
We will remember this
Secure the moment with a kiss
Focus

“She sings happy songs in minor keys.”
A playful juxtaposition of life's contrasts, “Cakewalk” explores love despite its challenges and celebrates the simplicity of hope.
CAKEWALK
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
No one said it would be this easy
Winning me over by degrees
She sings happy songs in minor keys
And it makes me feel blissfully sad
Give me all you got
I can’t get enough
I can’t get enough of
Love in hard times
Obvious rhymes
Simple truths convincingly said
Don’t get worked up
Take a shortcut jitterbug
Put one foot ahead
It’s a cakewalk
When life is a one-sided contest
Every day brings another conquest
Fear the worst and hope for the best
But no future is truthfully bad

The mind is a curious thing.
You can be driving on the freeway at 80 mph lost in thought, as peaceful as can be despite the very real risk of dying in a crash at any moment.
Or you can be lying in your bed safe and sound, tossing and turning for hours over something that happened in the past or may never happen at all.
DEATH MACHINE
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
In the driver’s seat
Weaving through the steel parade
In our daily procession
Speed is liberty
While my mind is free to drift
In and out of aggression
Piloting a death machine
Peaceful and hypnotizing
Laying down to fall asleep
Stressful and worrying
Predisposed to ruminate
Over some nebulous fate
Get your priorities straight
In a quiet room
Lurk imaginary beasts
Rising as the world slumbers
What may never be
Ribbons drifting in the wind
Yet I can’t help but wonder
In the here and now
Let our hearts be undisturbed
By the blossoming chaos

I think you'll agree that this is one of the best Color Theory remixes ever.
I mastered two Raindancer albums for A Different Drum, way back in 2005 and 2007.
We hadn't been in touch for over a decade, but Thomas recently reached out and offered to remix a track. Of course I said yes!
They released an album in 2021 and are planning an EP release next year. Their latest is a cover of Depeche Mode's “Rush.”

THE ROT
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
When did it happen?
The circling of crows
The love of a lifetime
Began to decompose
I wanted to touch you
Our fingers stained with rust
The chain that connects us
Corroding into dust
It’s like trying to hold onto
A moment or a thought
But it’s already over
We can’t deny the rot
The sting of rejection
I had to get away
Without exception
All things will decay
I suffer in silence
Knowing it won’t last
My memory eroding
Layers of the past
Do I still love you?
It’s hard for me to say
So I’ll cling to it lightly
Until it rots away

Happily ever after? There’s no such thing.
“The Rot” is a haunting exploration of love's inevitable decay and the fleeting nature of all things.
This is one of my favorites from my upcoming 13th album. What others find depressing, I often find uplifting.

“She’s Made of Wires” is an exploration of loneliness, desire, and the search for authenticity in an increasingly artificial world. The lyrics follow a protagonist entwined in a romantic relationship with a robot. Despite the near-perfect nature of his artificial partner, he yearns for the genuine emotional connection that only a human lover can provide.
SHE'S MADE OF WIRES
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
She hums underneath the covers
We share a bed but not a soul
She’s wearing a suit of armor
And her touch is always cold
But somewhere in that uncanny valley
We built a life, a sort of family
I almost convince myself I’m happy
She’s made of wires, she’s made of wires
She’s nearly perfect
Romantically superhuman
But she isn’t you
We’re mutually codependent
I’m both her master and her slave
Obedient and efficient
I long to see her misbehave
But I am her God, her one religion
This is the stuff of science fiction
Tells me she loves me with conviction
She’s made of wires, she’s made of wires
She worships my imperfections
This mess of blood and guts and germs
No matter how much I love her
We’ll never be on equal terms
I wonder if we could make her jealous
She’s not the type to be possessive
Just one kiss and she would get the message
She’s good at math, she’s good at math

To celebrate the release of Depeche Mode’s 15th studio album, here’s a longer version of my “Ghosts Again” cover with some minor mix improvements.
The one consistent piece of feedback I received on my cover was that it’s too short. At 3:36, it’s still short for an “extended mix,” but probably about where it should’ve been from the beginning.
Now I’m off to listen to a new album from my all-time favorite band! It’s been far too long.

Growing up, I always thought The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” was a perfect love song, even though some lines didn’t sit well with me.
I imagine that will be most listeners’ experience with “The Serious One.” At first blush, it sounds like a sincere declaration of fully requited love. A careful reading between the lines hints that things are not as they seem and that our trusty narrator may not be worthy of that trust.
I’ll leave it at that, but I’d love to hear what you take from the song!
Oh yeah - the lyrics refer to being “your straight man.” In case it’s not clear, that’s one person’s role in a comedy duo, not a declaration of heterosexuality!
THE SERIOUS ONE
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Why do you giggle when we talk?
You do that quite a lot
Why won’t you look me in the eye?
You’re not the shy type
I try your cell again
You turn the screen to show your friends
Yes I saw it
You have your fun
I’m your straight man
The serious one
I feel alive when I’m with you
So you must feel it too
Nervous and awkward and confused
I guess that proves it
I lean in for a kiss
You turn your head
Another misunderstanding
All in good fun
I can take it
The serious one
I know exactly where to be
To accidentally meet
Always in public but discreet
Enough to tell you
I love you don’t you laugh
It’s not a joke on your behalf
Now you’ve got me under your thumb
On the case
I’m the serious one
I’ve laid it on the line
And if I’m yours you must be mine
We can’t have you looking so glum
I’m the straight man
The serious one

80s lyrics are prone to hyperbole. Modern English promised to "stop the world and melt with you." Hearing the song on the radio as a kid, I never once considered what a ridiculous assertion that was.
In this song, I vow to "place the ocean in your hands," "melt the desert with your smile," and "map the stars to your astrology."
Best not to think about it too much.
IF YOU WANT ME TO
©2023 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
When I’m with you
I’ve got superpowers
And nothing at all to fear
I’m immortal
And I can move mountains
Delirious but sincere
If you want me to
I’ll place the ocean in your hands
If you want me to
I’ll charm the world with your humanity
Whatever makes you happy
When I’m with you
Nobody can stop me
And no one can take your place
I adore you
My love is a promise
You’ve already won the race
When I’m with you
I dream of forever
And how we’re already there
Time is motion
The drifting of planets
The wind blowing through your hair
If you want me to
I’ll melt the desert with your smile
If you want me to
I’ll map the stars to your astrology
Whatever makes you happy

Way back in the early aughts, I was mastering engineer for American synthpop label A Different Drum. Signed to that label was no other than Martin Permer with his project Capsize. I had the pleasure of mastering both the lead single and the album.
Who knew that 16 years later we’d have the opportunity to work together again? After remixing each other’s work, we decided to record a duet.
It started with Martin arranging an instrumental demo. I added vocal melodies, wrote the lyrics, and recorded my vocal parts. A month later Christina recorded her parts and Martin sent me an early mix. We went back and forth on mixing tweaks, mastering, and finally cover art.
The song is a conversation between two lovers who shared a turbulent relationship. Of course, every important relationship involves conflict. Many of us don’t resolve that conflict in a way that, looking back over the years, we can feel proud of.
The subjects of the song reach just that sort of resolution together, coming to terms with their regrets over what might have been and wishing each other the best.
If only I handled my relationships with such maturity in real life. 🫠
DEATH OF YOU
©2023 Martin Permer & Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Our history tells a twisted story
Yet part of me just can’t seem to move on
(I haven’t forgotten)
But you want to
(This isn’t a contest)
Maybe for you
But we can never go back
Been there, done that, lost track
Trying to keep the score
We fought for hollow rewards
Fell on our swords
Winning battles to lose the war
I wish you happiness
I wish you happiness
And now that there’s nothing left to fight for
The animus long since faded away
(I think of you fondly)
And I of you
(Remember the good times)
I often do
You said I’d be the death of you
Now I only want the best for you

Rogue VHS produced a wonderful remix of my song “Wrath” that does an emotional 180 on the lyrics. What began as a litany of complaints now hints at celebration.
WRATH
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
There’s something about our love
That makes us suffer
A scraping of soul on bone
It feels like punishment
Fanning the flames
Twisting the time frames
We’re diabolical
Doubling the dares
Caught in the crosshairs
It’s downright biblical
There’s something about our love
That makes us tougher
A joining of jagged halves
It reeks of happiness
We’re getting cynical
Death is digital

Any important relationship involves conflict. Wrath is about the sort of stormy alliance that somehow works in its own dysfunctional way, building up rather than tearing down both parties.
WRATH
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
There’s something about our love
That makes us suffer
A scraping of soul on bone
It feels like punishment
Fanning the flames
Twisting the time frames
We’re diabolical
Doubling the dares
Caught in the crosshairs
It’s downright biblical
But far be it from me
To walk the holy path
And fail to stoke your wrath
There’s something about our love
That makes us tougher
A joining of jagged halves
It reeks of happiness
We’re getting cynical
Death is digital

If ever I could be accused of making an artistic statement, this is it.
“The Darkness” explores the otherworldly quality of the predawn hours (especially after a drink or two). The world is cast in softened lines and gentle shapes, and far-off buildings shimmer with an almost magical glow.
THE DARKNESS
I am the night
All your grievances and pain
Are swallowed whole
In the black of my domain
We belong outside
Walking bleary-eyed
Through the empty streets
Where the monsters meet
In the darkness
We stand alone
In a world of vacant cars
Let nothing change
Underneath these dying stars
In the status quo
Of the streetlamp’s glow
I will feast on you
As the shadows do
In the darkness
But I’m torn away
By the light of day
Stark and methodical
In this frame
Nothing looks the same
Landmarks of my daily life
Glimmer with magic by night
When you get tired
There’s a mattress on the floor
If you undress
I won’t pressure you for more
I’ll lay by your side
Still but satisfied
Counting phantom sheep
As the lonely weep
In the darkness

Ben (Manchester, UK) and I (Los Angeles, USA) wrote this retro 80s-themed song for anyone experiencing depression or going through a difficult period, to remind them that everything will work out in time. As the mind processes a painful event, the waves of grief and trauma get weaker every time they resurface, like an echo.
JUST AN ECHO
©2022 Ben McGarvey (PRS) & Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
I know you’re feeling broken inside
Like there's a fog over everything in your life
But just give it time
I know you’ll get through this
You’re just caught in the after-effects
But every wave will hit you with less violence
It’s just the natural process
And you’ll get through this
I know you’re feeling like just giving up
You don’t believe me but you’re strong enough
This pain won’t last forever
Time will make it better
Don’t you let go
Don’t you let go
It hurts now I know
But it's just an echo
It’s just an echo
It’s just an echo
The end of a shadow
It's the last stop on the road home
I know the pain is screaming so loud
But it gets quieter every time it comes around
Just let it play out
And you’ll get through this

Have you ever known someone who can reliably coax you out of your hiding place? Who's presence effortlessly compels you to lower your guard? Who pierces straight through your insecurities to reveal your best self?
“Crystal” is an uncharacteristically optimistic song about just that sort of person.
CRYSTAL

What’s precious inside me
Won’t let itself be known
To come out of hiding
Is to end up alone
No I won’t break down in front of you
Oh of all the stupid things to do
I won’t let you in
I won’t cross the line
I’ve been burnt too many times
I want to believe
Want to be alive
Look into my crystal eyes
Where a shout of joy
Is waiting to be born
Is waiting to be born
You slice me right open
A dazzling crystal blade
So thin I can’t feel it
So fast I can’t evade
And you cut right to the heart of it
And it only hurt a little bit

TRICK OF THE LIGHT
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
You’ve been forgotten
For months and moments
Enough to make me
Scream that I don’t love you
But when I’m driving
Alone at midnight
I scan the sidestreets
For signs of you
Can’t leave it alone
To think that you were right
It’s like you’re still here
In the corner of my eye
Tip of the tongue
Trick of the light
This expectation
Is my creation
I know it isn’t healthy
To dwell on this
Hallucination
The sharp sensation
Of hungering for
Something different

Francesca e Luigi remixed a couple of my tracks, and while I never considered myself much of a remixer, I was happy to return the favor.
The result is snappy, sexy, and fun - if I do say so myself!

A fight to the finish
Will it satisfy the ache?
I watch it happen
I incriminate myself
Flexible as a lie
Reach for the sky
Twisted arms

Dislocated limbs
Picking a fight

CAKEWALK
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
No one said it would be this easy
Winning me over by degrees
She sings happy songs in minor keys
And it makes me feel blissfully sad
Give me all you got
I can’t get enough
I can’t get enough of
Love in hard times
Obvious rhymes
Simple truths convincingly said
Don’t get worked up
Take a shortcut jitterbug
Put one foot ahead
It’s a cakewalk
When life is a one-sided contest
Every day brings another conquest
Fear the worst and hope for the best
But no future is truthfully bad

This ethereal 80s-tinged ballad with Minute Taker explores the fluid boundary between reality and a dream too good to be true. 🕛
I'VE SEEN YOU IN A DREAM
©2022 Ben McGarvey (PRS) & Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
I hear the sound of footsteps on the leaves
As waking hours are closing in on me
Oh, thought I was out here all alone
But lately I can't help but feel
I've seen you in a dream
Was I awake when you were here with me?
I close my eyes to recreate the scene
Are you alive, or something in-between?
Do you find me?
The places that I go to
Inside a dream
Inside a dream
And oh, when I wander on my own
Through the trees, do you follow me?

I thought I'd cut my ties with the mob, but now I'm back for one final job. 🤷🏼♂️
I HARDLY EVEN KNOW YOU
©2021 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Another stupid lovesong
In which I do all my own stunts
Such a disappointment
It's like I'm running out of thoughts
And you may say I've lost my touch
But if you don't expect too much
Here we go...
Feeling strange but I like it
Pouring out like a faucet
Rushing forth to greet you
Running red like a carpet
Bleeding out open-hearted
Wouldn't it be nice to
I'm tired of feeling restless
You draw the air out of my lungs
A second adolescence
Teenagers tripping on their tongues
And you may say I've lost my mind
But I'm content to leave it behind
Give me a sign
Give me a signal
Want to be smart
Want to be careful
Now you're coming over
Loneliness is a virtue
Staying out after curfew
I don't have the nerve to
I hardly even know you
I thought I'd cut my ties with the mob
But now I'm back for one final job
I hardly even know you
Yes it's true

Original version featured on 2018 album The Majesty of Our Broken Past
THE FUTURE YOU IS FOREVER
©2018 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Someday we’ll return here
Aching for this moment, this night
The awareness hits me
Soft but brutal like kids in a pillow fight
But let’s keep it together
And pretend we don’t know the truth
Everything will change
Nothing stays the same
The future you is forever
Our entangled fingers
Tremble as we take our first breath
The nostalgia lingers
Like the sound of your voice on a worn cassette
But I know things can never
Be the way that they used to be
But when the mountain crumbles
And monuments to love collapse
We’ll celebrate together
The majesty of our broken past
For now let’s act our age
Embrace the glory days
You’ll wake up tomorrow
At the top of the radio dial
And make fun of the music
I’m the first to admit that it’s not my style
But for now I’m content
To tap my fingers and sing along

LET'S PRETEND
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Here in the dark
It's natural to be afraid
To disappear into the shade
To lose your way and miss the mark
There in the light
It's easier to be a man
To execute the master plan
To soldier on and win the fight
So let's pretend
That I am someone to defend
A lover, follower, or friend
It doesn't matter in the end
So let's pretend
Here in my room
It's cynical to be polite
To tolerate you one more night
To bite my tongue and cast a gloom

MASTER LIST
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
I keep a master list of your flaws
But none of them bother me at all
I write them down dispassionately
To maintain my sanity
I keep a master list of your flaws
But none of them bother me at all
I catalog them incessantly
So nothing can get to me
Buried away
Alongside angry emails never sent
Lies a labor of love
A hidden dossier of discontent
Venomous pride
A lust for power
Lack of agency
Spiteful, gullible
Tinged with paranoia
And crippling jealousy
Both of us know
That I'm no stranger to the seven deadly sins
I share the blame for
The little shop of horrors in our midst
I won't ask you to change
Nobody's perfect
That's not my intent
I don't want to say something
I can't take back so
This is how I vent

THE SKELETON'S CLOSET
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
You tell your friends
It never happened, believe me
Embarrassed by
This thing you've done
Dug up the earth
Buried the body
And now I'm an afterthought
A skeleton
We share a secret
Just once you kissed me
I feel your breath
In the space before I sleep
In the skeleton's closet
You have my word
I'll keep my promise
Cry out to an empty sky
To hear my prayer
You cut me down
You make me worthless
But I need to rescue you
From your despair
We share a bond
That shall not be broken
Whisper your name
In the aching darkness

The Skeleton's Closet is a companion EP to the latest Color Theory album, Mages. It contains six originals that were too weird or thematically inappropriate for the album, plus five of the best remixes of the era.
THE EXAMINER
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
A fleeting image in the dark, trespassing
An empty breath, a beating heart
The words appear from out of nowhere
Both a curse and a prayer
I am aware
I feel it
I see it
I hear it
Who is left to think about it
Study the examiner
Feels like I’m cheating on a test
Somehow I unhooked the cause from the effect
An atom binds with its opponent
Leading to this moment
Indifferent but conscious

ANYONE WOULD
©2022 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Can’t shake off my intuitions
Misgivings and deep suspicions
You say that you're not home
But your light is on
It don’t take Sherlock Holmes
To see that something's wrong
In spite of your disposition
I'll still believe you
Anyone would
Cause I still need you
Anyone would
You say that I’m always smiling
So wicked and so beguiling
A pitchfork in my hand
As I light the match
The poison in your glass
Come on down the hatch
Though I’ve been accused of lying
I’m still dependent
In adulthood
But who can blame me?
Anyone would

“Through thick and thin with her, I've been systematically sinister.”
Italian producer Chris Keya brought a hard-hitting cyberpunk aesthetic to our collaboration that pairs perfectly with the dark desperation of the lyrics.

SINISTER
©2022 Chris Keya (SIAE) & Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
This mania, this sickness
Is there no one else to blame?
This radiance, this fiction
She forgives all transgressions
Never asking for remorse
Apologies, concessions
Units of force
I should concede when I’ve been beaten
I should conceal my darker moods
I should confront my inner demons
Rub the salt into the wound
Through thick and thin with her
I’ve been systematically sinister
No need to compromise
When you can see the surrender in her eyes
When every act of kindness
Is the product of regret
My chivalry is selfish
Outstanding debt

ROGUES
©2021 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
In times of poverty, hunger, or distress
My virtue recedes
And noble purposes must be set aside
For practical needs
With cunning and a bit of stealth
We'll multiply our meager wealth
I promise not to break the law
Or risk our health
Will we cling to broken social codes
In a world where anything goes?
Take what's ours or dress in friar's robes?
Bleed like saints or smile like rogues?
I tend to hold myself unaccountable
For thoughts in my head
And if a bright idea suddenly appears
I'll follow that thread
Focus on this and nothing else
Do what necessity compels
And when this life comes to an end
Forgive yourself

How come movies, books, and video games get sequels, but not songs? This is my attempt to remedy that injustice.
“Straightaway” is the follow-up to one of my most popular songs, “In Motion.” It takes up the couple's story in their later years, when our protagonist is ready to settle down but doesn't want to hold his partner back.
It's also the focus track for my 12th full-length album, Mages, which releases today! 🥳

STRAIGHTAWAY
©2021 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Spent our lives in foreign lands
Holding hands
Passport pages running out
Heads above the clouds
Eyes toward the sun
Having fun
Testing luck and tempting fate
Since our great escape
Kept a journal on cassette
No regrets
I'm still grateful every day
That you came my way
Trivial concerns
Hairpin turns
Chasing the horizon's end
Just around the bend
We lived out our bucket lists
And now here we are
At the final stretch
No more winding roads
One long straightaway
Death will pay all of our debts
Time forgets
Spread my ashes on the sea
Should you outlive me
Both feet on the ground
Slowing down
Chapter coming to a close
Roosting with the crows
I don’t want to scare you off
But if you must fly
I won’t clip your wings
When the hour comes
Tell me straightaway
I don't want to tie you down
And whether or not
You choose to come back
You will always be my señora
So if you must go, sayonara
When the hour comes
Tell me straightaway

DUNGEONS
©2021 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
Absorbing damage
Is the name of the game
From the claws of monsters
Or the heat from a ball of flame
Our strength in numbers
Is a roll of the dice
Played a thousand hours
And I think that I died just once
Or maybe twice
I live in dungeons, always did
I live in dungeons, like a kid
Dungeons, caves and halls
I live in dungeons, pits and falls
I’m well-respected
As a lord of the blade
Got a dozen guildmates
Always up for a late night raid
Though I wouldn’t know them
By a name or a face
We fight like brothers
In a war with the Dark Elf race
In a dying age
I rolled a 10 in Wisdom
18 in Constitution
Fully immune to poison
But weak to Holy magic
So now you know why
I’m glued to my chair
And what you call real life
Just doesn’t compare
I bear no grudges
I live in dungeons

You're in a relationship with someone who wants a rival, an enemy, a fight. You feel like you've been here before, watching the threads of your friendship fray and unravel. You think to yourself, "Just let me go... I'm stretched to the limit."

THE LIMIT
©2021 Brian Hazard (ASCAP)
The fear of falling
And the promise not to fail
Pulling my worlds apart
Hand on my heart
Light the match
And leave me for dead
And everybody said
Isn’t she nice?
Sugar and spice
Just let me go
I'm stretched to the limit
And bones are bound to break
Is that what you want?
A fight to the finish
Will it satisfy the ache?
I watch it happen
I incriminate myself
Flexible as a lie
Reach for the sky
Twisted arms
And sadistic whims
Dislocated limbs
Picking a fight
On a Saturday night
What if I told you
That it wasn’t meant to be?
What if I told you
I won’t be here for the ever after?
