""Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones..." --- Dedicated to Spazzlings; my white cloak. :) This video is pretty much my emotions about the short game Journey. Its one of the most beautiful and thought provoking games I've ever played. There's no fighting. There's no epic battles. It's just a Journey. And if you haven't played it you should. Picking music for this was hard. Journey's music is so perfectly wound into the story that it's really hard to pick something else without it seeming blasphemous. However, I found this cover of Coldplay's Fix you and it just fit. Knowing the lyrics, my favorite line in this song just stood out to me. Lights will guide you home. Which fit this game so incredibly well. And then there is the spoken word by Derrick Brown. This poem is just... all my feels. Go listen to the full poem because I chopped it up to fit in this. Just, I can't even talk about it without tearing up. Beautiful. -sniff-As for the video, this was hard. It became SO simplistic which felt lazy. But there really shouldn't be effects or magic or anything like that. This story is simple but powerful and I wanted to give the same feelings. Also my poor Baby computer is so old. There are glitches in here I couldn't see until rendered. And at three hours per render, I was running out of time to see things. I need an iMac. Gr.In other news, my youngest sister told me that she wants to be a red cloak for Halloween. So I suppose I shall be a white cloak. Remember- SYTYCV Paradox Entry OnlyDoylie 2012-05-11 | SYTYCV - Paradox RoundThis Entry was focusing on the kind of darker-bonnie-and-Clyd, even sensual in a way, side of Flynn and Repunzel. I loved how disjunctive and scratchy Lana Del Ray's music videos are and I tried to emulate that in this piece. Lots of flashes and super 8 footage guys. Haha.This entry was hard for me for multiple reasons. First, Toby my Toshiba Laptop died a horrible death. Not really he's just very old and over used. He's getting a facelift when I get home. ;) But because of that I used my university's computers and as such Final Cut Pro instead of Sony Vegas. Now as a Media Design Major, I'm more that efficient with FCP so it wasn't too big of a problem. However I am not as strong with Fanedits for some reason. This is also the second problem because I could only edit at the labs. Ew. Which made this hard to finish.Either which way I'm pretty proud of this entry.Coloring is a problem. I don't know how to do what I know I can do in SV. So I left a lot of the orginal colors.

SYTYCV No Effects - Only Son - Sherlock Spoilers OnlyDoylie 2012-01-16 | "I'm the only Son." ----While this has NO SPOILERS for 02x03 there are SPOILERS for episodes one and two and all of season one. YOU ARE WARNED. VOTE FOR ME: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyvIaZ1Z5ssWhooo. Okay. Have gone through, what, four ideas for this piece. All of them Sherlock. This piece however was the final sculpture and I'm actually pleased with it. It's really hard for me to do no-effects unless it's my own work. Because I believe in editing as a transformative piece and if I am forced to leave well enough alone well, what am I transforming? Whoa boy. I picked Sherlock because I am consistently DROOLING over the script, acting and more importantly the editing and the cinematography. I geek out every episode over how it's shot the coloring, and oh sweet heaven the editing. Ugh. Melting here people. Excuse me while I wipe drool off my jaw.This piece made me focus on a story. I adore Moritary v Sherlock. Especially from the original books and I believe this adaptation is just as powerful. I love the concept of two different ends of a spectrum and how Sherlock is grounded by the "ordinary things". Things like his heart, his body and his mind. Things Moriarty finds ordinary. I really focused on a over veiw of the series with that in mind. John being the catalyst. His Heart. Mycroft says that Sherlock is a great man but with John's help he may just be a good one. I'm not a John/Sherlock shipper but I'm seriously in love with "da bromance". John keeps him human, and thus is his heart. Irene Adler. I didn't focus on her too much but she truely is the one that kind of opens up Sherlock to more physical things. Thus I sort of hinted at her without delving too deep and titled her the "body". Finally Mycroft. I love Sherlock's brother. He's just as "unordinary" as Sherlock but obviously both Sherlock and Sherlock believe that Mycroft has cheapened himself and thus "ordinary". However, being brought up in the same house Mycroft seems the more "sensible" older brother. Thus I had titled him the "Mind". Finally Moriarty. His placement in this as the "only Son" is placed because of his belief that Sherlock isn't as Special as Moriarty wants him to be. Moriarty thus feels like he is the only one. I hope you all enjoy. The Color Blue Weekend One Bloopers OnlyDoylie 2011-11-14 | I am shooting a short film for my directing course and this weekend was our first shoot. It was.... crazy. Everything went wrong. Lighting was tough. Camera and battery problems. And then I got into the editing lab to see that I made some very stupid, amateur mistakes in my haste and nervousness at filming my real first film. So instead of logging and editing a rough cut of some of the scenes I made a blooper reel cause I needed a laugh.Cause at the end of the day, my actors rock, my location was awesome and our story is solid. :D I feel better now. It took me quite a bit to get this one sorted. Then walking to class one morning and I heard this song... and I ditched my other entry to do this. I felt like this was one of the most emotional episodes of season 6. Rory's choice was chilling, to choose between a possibility and the future. But also, Amy, she waited for them, and not only lost faith in the Doctor but Rory as well. I was in the group given Hate, Fear and Hope. I think all three of these emotions were major contenders in this episode and I hope that showcased here. I was thinking about sharing what I was thinking with each emotion, but I think I'll let the video explain itself. I hope you enjoy. Ellen Harvelle - Seatbelt Hands (Preview) OnlyDoylie 2011-09-27 | "She's the kind of lady that calls everybody baby..." ----------This was orginally supposed to be my entry for SYTYCV but because of a cornicopia of school work, work and some filming for school, I had no time to finish it. I'm still in love with the video and will finish it up. I had 2 minutes of song and there was 30 sec smack dab in the middle that I was UNABLE to finish. I picked Ellen Harvelle, deciding to try and portray her full story. From John Winchester being "at fault" for her husband's death to her own death in the end of Season 5. She's one of my favorite characters and continues to be a strong influence in my own writing. Full details in the full video.

Rivers Song - Dueling Arts (bird) OnlyDoylie 2011-09-20 | "... but a bird flew by..." ------- EDIT: SYTYCV Judges Notes Because of time restraints of school and my life (Filming, work, ect) my original piece for SYTYCV fell through. I just had a lot of things on my plate and didn't plan as well as I thought I had. I feel very thankful that I had just finished this character piece and am both proud of it and feel it fits what the judges had asked of me. This was actually my "practice" for my SYTYCV entry (which is so close to being finished but needs some major tweaking). I wasn't comfortable sending in what I had so I'm offering, this stronger piece in place. I chose to focus on how River seems to be hiding something more than her relationship (and I use that loosely) with the Doctor. I portrayed the Doctor as the Bird because as the show progresses (and with it their relationship) he seems to be hiding something, like he always is. And River doesn't want to get that out. I refrained from adding Mel in here, even though she's also a personality of River, because I wanted to focus on RIVER SONG. I also stuck to later episodes because I felt her movements in these fit better. I focused on beat-flow. I'm not very gifted with harsh beats so I focused on making the actions flow into each other and more importantly, into a story. I'm confident in putting this into SYTYCV because this flow and choice of internal movement was something you said I needed to work on. Anywho, Wish me luck. I'm hoping outlying circumstances aren't what keep me from moving on this year. ------ For Dueling Arts: We had to pick a song with a specific (given) word and then do a cannon overview of that character. I was given the word bird, and after hearing this song by F+M... I picked River Song from BBC's Doctor Who. Instant Love. :] I'm super excited about how this video came out. River Song is one of my favorite characters ever and I love just ger general mystery. Besides Alex Kingston is Brilliant. If I ever make it big, I want to work with her.

(LINK) This was done for fun and for the pure laughter of it. So often I feel like I need to upload something dark and serious for it to be enjoyable. This was for fun and the fact that Singing in the Rain is one of my favorite movies. 2)Family (LINK) Showing an AU scenario. Use of Audio and Expression over beat. Focusing on believability of audio choices. 3) Janitors (Unfinished, no link) Based on Flow and emotion. Was originally an overview of the Inception Movie but became a character study of Cobb's psyche. Also fun for one of my new favorite bands, Third Lobby (who is now Third Empire). 4) Lazy Dancers (Unfinished) Character study of my favorite character, River Song and her relationship with the Doctor. This video started as a cannon character study with a little speculation. Since the airing of 06x08, it's become AU. I'm ok with this. 5) Between-Reality Studios MEP piece (LINK) A strong case of showing the ability to tell a story in under a minute. 6)Hands, IC challenge (LINK) Emotion without a story. Done with Spazzlings as a 1 hour challenge. 7) Lonely Souls (Link Unavailable) This focused on beat rather than a story. Not my strong point but rather fond of this video. I altered the song as well to include the backwards lyrics. 8) Narnia (Link Lost) Character study of the Penvinse Children and their characteristics as Kings and Queens. Color and focus on clip choice. I've tried out for SYTYCV every year, and every year it grows me as a editor.
