The original goal was mid-2:23, but then the goalpost kept moving, especially because at one point I was stuck with the same time for 3 months, only to beat it by a few seconds. I finally optimized the category enough to where 2:21 became the clear goal. One run was on low 2:21 pace which had me worried that a high 2:21 wouldn't be good enough, but fortunately I got a mid-2:21 which is more than good enough. NTWM was particularly bad, but most of the rest of the run was great. There's a lot that can go wrong, such as the never-reliable Sundae jumps, or the possibility of fake ring, or a game crash, or bad combat arena RNG or choking it in general. But in the end I knew I'd get my goal eventually. Despite that, it still feels surreal.
I've been slowing working on a couple video essays for close to a year, but haven't been able to release any because this game was taking up so much of my time. But perhaps 2025 could be the beginning of a new chapter in my life, who knows. Either way, thank you to everyone who has supported me, and thank you to the entire SpongeBob speedrunning and modding community for these past 8 years.

Some segments were taken from other categories. This is because some segments in those categories are identical to how they’re done in NPS, so it’s the equivalent of if I achieved that segment in NPS anyway. My playstyle is the same in every category regardless of length.
I'm playing on NTSC original Xbox (PAL Xbox with a soft-mod that makes the Xbox think it’s an NTSC console and can then read NTSC discs) as it’s the fastest version for this category. It has faster and much more consistent lag-tech, and faster driving than Xbox 360 (NTSC also has faster driving than PAL. PAL60 doesn't increase driving speeds). Only English OG/360 can compete in this category because of "Mindy skip", a trick that saves over 18 minutes using "bowl storage" tech (we don't know why).
My best gold is Rub a Dub 2. I accidentally setup the skip so fast that I needed a one-frame jump to land on the other side, which I don't intentionally do. All of my golds are very solid but my worst gold is "More Bounce" in Planktopolis. While extremely rare, it's possible to get a ledge-grab that saves 2s. But if we're only counting reasonable timesaves, then Weenie Parking is probably my worst. I can probably save 1s with better movement, which for that segment is much easier said than done.
This segmented run is flawed because load times, cutscenes, etc. will always have some variance. If this run only had below-average loads, the final time wouldn't be a 59. My Xbox has average loads overall, but sometimes a load will be surprisingly fast or slow.
There's an asterisk next to the Rub a Dub 2 gold. This is because my gold warped to the wrong level. It didn't lose any time in the full run, and in fact the menuing I originally did was slower and harder. It's extremely basic menuing that I obviously wouldn't have messed up in the gold so I felt like it was fair to splice the menuing from a different clip. The gold is extremely fast and I can't reasonably beat it, so I was desperate to keep it.
What originally made me want to compile all of my best segments was that I got an incredible “Sandwich Driving 101” segment in 2020. I went on to compile a 1:05:54 segmented run in July 2020. On May 12th 2023, the sum-of-best finally broke through the sub-hour barrier. This is also inspired from SHiFT’s BFBB segmented speedrun from 2017 (youtube.com/watch?v=yrMbee9jTug). I may never make another segmented run in this category in future because there's no significant time to achieve anymore, but I will keep highlighting my golds just in case. I may start highlighting my 100% golds but I don't play that category as much, it's much more likely to have strat discoveries and route changes, a chunk of segments are uninteresting no matter how well I play, and so on.
TL;DR - This compiles my best segments for No Pause Storage, the main category. Some segments are taken from other categories because they're identical to how they're done in NPS. I'm playing on NTSC Original Xbox because it has superior lag-tech and driving speeds. With current knowledge, a perfect sum-of-best could maybe be sub 59:45. Only English OG/360 can play this category. This may be the last segmented run I ever upload.

This is the first successful attempt of Battle for Bikini Bottom damageless. This means not losing a health point, getting grabbed by Hans, touching goo or drowning. This was a bit harder than I thought it'd be, but a lot of hard things can be avoided thanks to the lenient spatula requirement. I tried 100% a few times after this and it's pretty hard, so I'd rather move on now.
Also the layout and cam were flipped and there's Subway Surfers gameplay because it was April Fool's lol

The main pros of this game imo are the costumes, use of characters that normally don't get their time to shine, and the game's ability to make these levels interesting and unique despite many appearing in prior games.
I don't plan to speedrun the game unless there were a hoverless category. That strat is way too dominant and fast for me to take interest otherwise. It's pretty amazing how far the wr has gone already though.

I was only aiming for a 2:24, but I beat the goal by a good amount. I was barely on pace for a 2:23 which I didn't know was even possible until this run, but I was only on that pace after playing out of my mind for a while. So realistically it's not really possible atm. I don't plan to play this for a while, but when I do, I'll tackle the 2:23.

The run is quite flawed at first, but the last 17 minutes are what revived it. It's hard to say for sure, but this run is the rough equivalent of about a 1:05:02 before Rub a Dub skip existed, which is crazy because just before the trick got found, it wasn't possible to make that many mistakes and still get a 1:04 since the time was near-unachievable. It's sometimes hard to find timesave, and it even feels like it appears out of nowhere at times.
At the end of the run I mention a few times that I can't believe Mindy skip worked so many times. In short, it's hard to say for sure but there appears to be about a 20-25% chance that Mindy skip fails for seemingly no reason. You lose over 40s which is an instant run-killer. I was almost certain it would fail after working so many times, but it didn't. If it did, it's possible that 1:01 wouldn't have been achieved for a while. I remember my first three 1:06 pace runs ending to Mindy skip.

Despite The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie being the first console game I ever played as a kid, I'm still very nostalgic for Battle for Bikini Bottom. I played this game year after year for a long time, and eventually started speedrunning it in 2016, most notably achieving 7th place in the Any% category in 2018. However, I haven't consistently ran the game since then.

Correction: I stated in the video that ToxicPinHead found the first version of Mindy Skip, but instead showed the current version of the trick. This was intentional because the original setup was using freecam in Dolphin emulator to slowly guide the patty wagon to the finish line and I felt like the trick would be misunderstood if I put that footage on-screen. People would likely assume that's how the camera worked without freecam.

Side-tangent: I originally made the script in mid-2021, and it was so long that it neared 5000 words. I shortened it to 2300 words. Originally, I went over the brief WR history of the game, short backgrounds of the WR holders and what nitro routes they did even before discussing OOB, but I realised that was pointless. I've gotten a lot better at only saying what's necessary. This is the hardest I've worked on a video and I'm very proud of the result. If this does well, I'd like to make a similar video for Sundae Driving. I'd also like to make a video about Mindy Skip (+ bowl storage) and Pause Storage, but those would take a lot longer, and the former video idea has a lot of potential to become outdated very quickly.

For the first ~8 minutes of the run, I talk about an exiled community member but I muted the audio whenever the name is mentioned. I name-dropped at the time because I didn't think the run would PB and it was brought up in my chat. If you don't wanna hear any of it, skip to 8:30. For anyone who thinks it's suspicious to mute audio like that, I've highlighted the run on my twitch channel for anyone to watch.

I forgot to mention in the video that non-English PAL versions cannot do Mindy skip. Even a version that has English as an option isn't viable. It specifically has to be an English exclusive PAL version.
This tutorial is meant for beginners and casual players wanting to experience the game in a different way. This trick saves ~20 minutes and created the most popular speedrun category for this game, "No Pause Storage". I will likely make an updated tutorial if the trick becomes possible on Gamecube or PS2/PS3.
My goal for this year is to upload more content, and this is the start of that. I used Premiere to edit this video but I'm inexperienced and will hopefully get better with each video. Thank you for watching, and please like/sub if you enjoyed.

The weird glitchy voice is from RTX Voice, which is a program used to remove background noise as well as it can. It's hard to explain but I can't really afford to stop using RTX Voice right now, but I'll be able to in future.

This run was pretty decent but had a few massive mistakes. Other than that, the rest of the run was pretty well executed. There's a lot of potential with this category, especially since there are many one-frame tricks I have yet to implement. With these strats, I think I could get a high 2:33. With updated strats, and an insane run, I could see 2:32 or even 2:31 happening in future. Sub 2:30 is far from doable right now, though.

This run is almost impossible to be ahead of until Rock Slide where I make my first notable mistake. Literally almost all my timesave is in late-game though. 1:06 is easier than ever but it's still extremely difficult and may take a long time to actually achieve. I was able to achieve this time due to my improved skill level and the number of new strats I added. Those two aspects combined allowed me to improve my Sum-Of-Best by ~40 seconds, although the new strats only save a total of ~15s. If I were to get a perfect run for my skill level, I'd probably have around a 1:06:45
Some of my segments were taken from other categories. This is because some segments in these categories are 100% identical to how they’d be performed in No PMS, so it’s the equivalent of if I achieved that segment in No PMS anyway. It’s worth noting that “Dennis 1” and “Boob Tube” weren’t actually my best segments. This is because they were never highlighted as they were unbeaten for so long. The segments were close enough to my best segments for me to accept them for this segmented speedrun.
There is a mistake in this video with BBBH 2/Throwing The Fruit Electric where the time displayed is incorrect. The actual segment time (based off my splits) is 51.48 seconds
I am playing on NTSC original Xbox (PAL Xbox with a soft-mod that basically makes the Xbox think it’s an NTSC console and can then read NTSC discs) as it’s the fastest version for this category. This version is the fastest because despite having slower loads than Xbox 360, the patty wagon drives faster. The patty wagon is also a little faster on NTSC compared to PAL. Original Xbox saves a few seconds throughout the entire run. Additionally, original Xbox can consistently buffer token animation skips and damage boost one-frame double jumps, meaning it’s also the most consistent version. PAL60 isn’t ideal because the patty wagon’s speed doesn’t increase. Any version that isn’t Xbox/Xbox 360, and isn’t the English version, cannot complete this category. Even if they could, they’d be a lot slower due to much slower loading times.
I have since beaten six of these best segments since processing this video. I beat my SCDA 2 best segment by two seconds. Other segments were only beaten by milliseconds. If it didn't take so long to process, I'd love to have those best segments in this compilation too.
This segmented run is flawed because my manliness points counter is very inaccurate. This is a problem because if I skip manliness points in one segment, thereby saving frames from not going out of my way to hit boxes or anything like that, then it’s possible I’d have to make up for it in a later segment and arbitrarily lose time.
There are moments in the video where my voice randomly increases or decreases in volume, or it sounds like my voice is being cut off a bit. This is because of an application called RTX Voice, which essentially removes as much background noise as possible. It’s not completely accurate, so these audio glitches are common. This is better than hearing echo, controller inputs and fan noises, though.
What originally made me want to compile all of my best segments was that I got an incredible “Sandwich Driving 101” segment that I haven’t been able to get close to beating to this day. I highlighted that segment and then decided that I wanted to do that for the rest of my best segments. This is also inspired from SHiFT’s BFBB segmented speedrun from 2017 (youtube.com/watch?v=yrMbee9jTug). I might decide to make another segmented speedrun in the future.
TL;DR - This is a compilation of my best segments for Xbox Any%. Some segments were taken from other categories because they're identical to how they'd be performed in Xbox Any%. I'm playing on NTSC Original Xbox because it's the fastest and most consistent version. I've beaten some of these best segments past making this video, one of which being two seconds faster. This segmented speedrun is flawed because of inconsistent manliness objects and inconsistent loading times. My voice sometimes sounds glitchy because of RTX voice, but it's worth it over a normal voice + background noise. There are sometimes frame drops but I don't know why this happened or how to fix it. I got the inspiration to make this video from SHiFT's old segmented speedrun video for BFBB.

I had to reupload the tutorial because of desynced clips.
Four substitute tokens you can do (fastest to slowest) - GESK ring challenge, GESK macho challenge, Sandwich Driving ring challenge, Sandwich Driving macho challenge. Ideally, beginners would skip "Three Meter Island" as well as the Floating Block challenge, both of which are in SCDA. These two would then be replaced with GESK ring and macho challenge. This only loses ~35 (assuming you didn't to 3 meter skip) and is significantly easier, so most beginners would save time with this route anyway.
Edit: it turns out that this method of doing Mindy skip is just as viable on OG as it is on 360: youtube.com/watch?v=XyOoHs8ODuY | TL;DR do the same bowl tech you'd do in No Cheese in Planktopolis instead, and don't bowl the for rest of the run until after Mindy skip is completed. This saves 8-10s and forces you to do Guitar Glide Clip.
GC/PS2 currently don't have Mindy skip setups. PS2 is close to breaking through with other setups, but keeps crashing on a specific frame. GC hasn't seen any hope of a new setup recently.
At a beginner level, 360 is likely superior to OG Xbox due to it having a better controller in general and has less lag-spikes. However, OG is superior at top-level because of lag-buffers and greater consistency with Guitar Glide Clip. At an intermediate level, both versions are probably just as good. In theory, Xbox 360 is probably a couple seconds faster, but you'll never be able to maintain that time save.
In the past few days, any% has been lowered by 18 minutes thanks to bypassing Mindy's 50 Goofy Goober token requirement. We now collect 43 tokens instead of 52, which allows us to skip all of the backtracking tokens and replace some slower tokens we used to do in early and mid-game. 1:08 appears to be the fastest possible time that can be achieved with the current strats.
