The weather had other plans for our day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach! Did the torrential rain stop us from riding the rides? Did it ruin the atmosphere of Oktoberfest? Absolutely not! Join us as we embrace the downpour, battle the elements on the rides, try to stay dry whilst having a beer, and see if the famous 'Blackpool Rain' adds a whole new level of thrill to the day. You climb into a giant snail, it slowly bumps along the track, and you're taken on a bizarre little journey through fairytale scenes, garden paths, and some slightly questionable animatronics.It’s one of those rides that’s been around forever, and it shows — but honestly, that’s part of the charm. One minute you’re outdoors weaving past flowerbeds, the next you’re indoors surrounded by gnomes, trolls, and characters that probably haven’t had a repaint in decades. The fact Pleasure Beach stumped up the cash to pay for the rights to use all the Disney IP's is amazing.. ;-)There’s no speed, no thrills — just good old-fashioned weirdness. It gave us a few laughs and more than a few “what is that supposed to be?” moments. Rollercoaster at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach (Brake Man) POV Coasting with the Joneses 2025-07-02 | 🎢 POV: Riding the Front of the Classic Wooden Coaster at Great Yarmouth – Right Behind the Brakeman 🎡Alright, we just got on the Roller Coaster at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach — and we ended up right behind the brakeman. Yeah, this ride still uses a live brakeman. No automatic systems here. Just a guy standing up, manually controlling the whole thing. It’s kind of surreal.We start moving, and it’s got that classic wooden coaster sound — all creaks and rattles. The brakeman gives a quick nod, casually holding the brake lever like it’s no big deal (he has the best job in the world) and we head up the lift hill. The fact that this coaster also has no upstop wheels (which are the wheels underneath the coaster track that modern coasters have) was playing on our minds...At the top, there’s this weird mix of excitement and “how is this still allowed?” 😅 The first drop is smoother than I expected, but you can feel every inch of the track. The brakeman pulls the lever at just the right moments, slowing us down before the sharper drops and letting it go on the dips. It’s old-school, but it works.Sitting this close, you get the full experience — wind in your face, a clear view of the track ahead, and the odd feeling that the guy in front of you is completely in charge of your life for the next few minutes.By the end, I’ve got a weird respect for this ride. It’s not the biggest or fastest, but it’s got charm. And honestly? Coasting with the Joneses 2025-06-08 | Join the Joneses for an aquatic adventure at the Great Yarmouth SEA LIFE Centre! 🌊We're diving deep to discover amazing creatures, from playful penguins to majestic sharks, and getting up close with some incredible marine life. See all the fun, laughter, and "oohs" and "aahs" as we explore the underwater world.The theming at this sealife was probally the best across any of the sealife centres we have visited, it was very well done.Although this sealife isn't as big as some of the other like Blackpool etc its well worth a visit if you find yourselves down in Great Yarmouth.They also had a Green spotted Puffer fish... which a certain Darcy from coastingwiththejoneses also has... :-)Please dont forget to like, share and subscribe as it massively helps our channel.

THORPE PARK Unencumbered Thrills! Coasting with the Joneses 2025-05-16 | Get ready for some unencumbered thrills, folks! Coasting with the Joneses is BACK at Thorpe Park, and you know why... in the words of Will from the inbetweeners... 'to ride rollercoasters' thats why... and dont worry they are perfectly safe..We braved the UK's tallest and fastest rollercoaster Hyperia AGAIN, and it was even more insane than we remembered! Thorpe does have some of 'the best coasters in the world'...Its been a while since we last visited Thorpe between the fact that Thorpe is a bit of a trek from our North Wales base.... WIPEOUT at Pleasurewood Hills | POV Coasting with the Joneses 2025-05-14 | Hold on tight, because we’re taking you on an adrenaline-fueled ride aboard *Wipeout*—the towering boomerang coaster that dominates the skyline of Pleasurewood Hills! From the moment we strap in, the suspense builds as we’re slowly lifted backwards, high into the air. The chain clunks beneath us, pulling us higher and higher until the park stretches out below like a miniature world. Then—without warning—we're released! Gravity takes hold, and we plummet forward, racing down the first drop at exhilarating speeds. The track twists and turns ahead, launching us into a heart-pounding cobra roll that flips us upside down, leaving us disoriented for just a split second before plunging into the loop. The intensity of the ride is relentless as we surge through the layout, speeding towards the towering second spike. And just when we think we’re done—we do it all again… BACKWARDS! HAS ALTON TOWERS LOST ITS MAGIC?.We take a stroll around the park and share our views from the day and point out what we find magical and .. not so magical at the park.The Alton Towers theme park has a number of world fIrst and very unique attractions, the majority of which use original storylines and IP's.We visit many areas of the park including X-Sector, Dark Forest and the absolutely stunning Forbidden Valley (Home of the awesome Nemesis rollercoaster) and we take a ride on some of our favorite attractions including Oblivion, Hex (The legend of the towers) and The Curse at Alton Manor and The Runaway Mine Train amongst others.We are very honest in giving our views about how we view the park. WILD Adventures at CHESSINGTON...Has it got its MAGIC back? Coasting with the Joneses 2025-04-20 | Join us as we make our first trip of the 2025 season to Chessington world of adventures.The main reason for our visit was to attend the Vampire 35th birthday celebrations, but we also spent two days on the park, staying overnight in the Chessington Azteca hotel.The first day was an awesome day as the Vampire 35th birthday q&a (see our previous vlog) was really good fun and then we also met up with the awesome @BenandHolliesTPA and @darkshadow_2570 on park to ride some rides.The 2nd day seemed fairly quiet and we managed to do a decent number of rides, including tomb blaster and croc drop.We do love Chessington and this year even though two fairly large areas of the park are closed to create new areas, Mexicana and wild asia the park still feels like it has had some of its magic return, as last year we felt like it had lost a little magic along the way.
We Went to a Rollercoasters Birthday Party... Vampires 35th at Chessington World of Adventures Coasting with the Joneses 2025-04-16 | Join us as we visit Chessington World of Adventures and attend the Vampire rollercoasters 35th birthday celebrations.To start to day we got a first train ride on the awesome Vampire.The Vampire coaster was built in 1990 by Arrow Dynamics and featured enclosed swinging trains which had bat styling. The ride was then heavily modified by Vekoma in 2002, and had swinging floorless trains fitted which give the riders a more thrilling experience.As part of the Vampire birthday celebrations, we started by collecting our Vampire VIP lanyards from the Chessington Hotel. These lanyards featured a qr code which allowed us to then send some questions to the VIP team which would then be read out during the q&a.We then were ushered to the Temple restaurant in the adoining Azteca Hotel, were we were treated to a full hot buffett lunch along with Vampire themed desserts.After lunch we then assembled in the serengeti suite in the Chessington hotel and were given Cocktails and mocktails which featured the Vampire logo.We then had an hour q&a session in the conference room with the man the legend himself Mr John Wardley. He answered a range of questions that had been sent through and was really engrossing and entertaining.Following on from the q&a John then spent an hour or so meeting everyone and signing autographs.The event was really good and it was awesome to meet John again. However the cost of the tickets (£125) each for Merlin pass holders was very steep and was probally higher than it should have been for the event.Kudos to the awesome @BenandHolliesTPA for winning two prizes during the post q&a quiz.Such an awesome day was had by all spent with some amazing friends. :-)

Alton Towers: Alton After Dark its just Stunning! Coasting with the Joneses 2025-03-31 | Join us as we spend the last two hours of the day at the Alton after dark event.We had a day trip to Matlock during the day and then decided to stop off on our way home to get some night rides in on what was a very moist Staffordshire evening.We managed a few rides including the curse at alton manor, the amazing Nemesis and also had one of our favorite ever night rides on thirteen. We also took a look at the awesome 'lighting package' that the towers themselves had which looked stunning.'Alton after dark' is such a cool event and i hope that it runs for the 2026 season.

Alton Towers Opening Weekend Day 2 Less of a disaster! Coasting with the Joneses 2025-03-19 | Guess whos back... back again... the Joneses are back.... tell your friends.....Ok so we had a rubbish day on opening day at Towers and actually decided to head home early due to very poor ride availability and the fact Toxicator went down due to 'plumbing issues'.... (Although it did open again after we left annoyingly)We woke up on the sunday feeling a little deflated by our previous day... so at 7am we got up looked at each and said.. fancy going to towers.... and jumped in the car to travel to sunny Staffordshire from North Wales...Returning to Towers was the correct decision... we managed to get on some of our favorite rides, and then we eventually managed to get Darcy to go on the brand new ride for 2025, the Huss suspended top spin called 'Toxicator' Darcy (and myself) were to be honest completely crapping ourselves to get on this ride.... but with a bit of convincing from the awesome @GingerAndBrown we rode it, it did not disappoint it was flipping awesome... loved its height, forces and theming.It was awesome to meet up and talk to @Rogmeister We had a much better day on the sunday, but there were still some fairly major operations issues which Towers urgently need to get sorted....Darcy also purchased the merch that she forgot to buy on the saturday, including a tshirt and hat, there is an excellent range of new merch for the 2025 season.Please like, share and subscribe to our channel as it does really help. Alton Towers Opening Day 2025 What a Disaster! Coasting with the Joneses 2025-03-19 | The thrill is back, and so are we! Join the Joneses as we dive into the magic of Alton Towers’ Opening Day for the 2025 season. From the eager anticipation at the gates to the jaw-dropping excitement of the new attraction 'Toxicator', this vlog captures every moment of the adventure.We started the weekend with a stay at the Alton Towers Splash Landings hotel on the friday night, and may have had a tipple or two with some of our awesome friends @GingerAndBrown @loopslapbars @TheCoasterCastle @itsastakesything We then made our way onto the park on opening day, and had an awesome ride on the best rollercoaster in the world (imo) 'Nemesis' but then the day started unravelling.... ops on Nemesis were not great and we saw a few trains leaving with empty seats and rows... then there were many many ride breakdowns... :-(Finally the proverbial poo hit the fan shall we say... or in towers case under their brand new ride... when there was a burst sewage pipe.....Fair play to the Towers staff for getting the ride back open... just a shame it was after we decided to leave the park... and after towers stated the ride would be closed until the sunday... not great communication towers.. :-(All being said though it was still an awesome day with a lot of friends on park including the awesome @LoveTwoExplore and @BenandHolliesTPA and it was definitely a memorable one... maybe not for the right reasons though :-)Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe to stay updated on all our adventures. 🎢✨
