Surprise Buttsecks Instrumental
updated
All of the stock tracks used in Submachine Universe with artists and titles where available. All of the tracks that are entirely unidentified do not have a source track to go off of and therefore are using rips from Submachine Universe as opposed to their source tracks in high quality.
Any and all help with identifying and locating any information about the source tracks would be massively appreciated. The vast majority of tracks were found on Soundsnap, with exceptions such as one track in particular (drone3) being found on freesound.org. It's likely that most if not all of the missing tracks were once available on Soundsnap but were removed. This is what has made finding high quality sources for the tracks particularly difficult, as there are no in-game credits as to the author and source of the tracks.

Sorry about the lackluster video editing, my computer was having a stroke trying to compile this together so this is as good as I could get it to look.
Sound effects are played uncompressed but cut off each other. The problem is that every time a sound is played, it lags the game. Note that this doesn't affect ALL sound effects, only those that are played for the first time in a game session, but it's still a big issue that's keeping me from having MKF stay in game maker 8.1. There doesn't seem to be a way to fix this.
BTW, yes, this is the Moon Fortress level. Consider this a tiny preview of v0.75 :P
Super Mario Multimedia Fusion (Super Mario MF) was a Mario fangame made by JudgeSpear in the early 2000s. While it did work as a rudimentary platforming and SHMUP engine, the limitations of the version of Multimedia Fusion used at the time (v1.2) were such that the game was a buggy mess and crashed randomly. Many of the bugs seen in this video showcase why this version of the game was unusable. Regardless, four levels exist in this prototype, half of which were ported over to Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. Some features, such as variable swimming height and choosing between 8-bit and 16-bit sound effects, were also implemented in Super Mario Fusion Revival.
There are four playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Sonic, and Mickey Mouse. Sonic and Mickey's fire flowers created a fire shield graphic that grows when obtained, but in reality it's just an indicator of being able to shoot fireballs and provides no actual protection. Mickey has the highest jump and fireballs that go straight forward instead of bouncing, which would later become Luigi's traits in MKF. Mickey was the only character to not be brought back for MKF, although an April Fool's day video did subvert this.
The original two videos of SMMF on JudgeSpear's channel originally had music dubbed over instead of using MIDI music. There is in fact an option to turn off the MIDI music in the game, but Military War Zone's drum loop is not possible to remove. While the original videos are lost to time, the game itself is still available and can be downloaded here: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/503972414200217631/642878080452395010/SMMF.zip

Today's the 10th anniversary of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion! In celebration of 10 years of ups and down with MKF, here's footage showing off Mario and Luigi's gameplay.
This video is dated April 16, 2008, when the game officially changed names from "Super Mario Fusion" to "Mushroom Kingdom Fusion."
Huge thanks goes to Kibbleknight for making this video possible. Music is sourced from GRAND DAD Reboot. Please check it out if you have a chance, it's really well made.
(JudgeSpear reupload)
For MKF, Mickey will be a handicapped character. Obviously, from the video, he cannot use any powerups at all; he simply collects their point values. Originally, Mickey's spritework in Super Mario MF was from the Genesis Castle of Illusion game. Later, I decided to use Mickey's sprites from Capcom's Magical Quest for the SNES. So, in summary, Mickey will be a Mario-type character with an HP meter."
So... I guess this makes this "Mushroom Kingdom Hearts", eh? ;)
UPDATE: Take the first letter of each sentence in the above two paragraphs. Put them together. What does it spell? And how many lives does Mickey have most of the video?
Originally uploaded April 1st, 2009. Happy 10-year anniversary!
This was one of the earliest video previews for what would eventually become Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. In fact, this was the one that really gave MKF its popularity. The video had reached about half a million views at its peak before it and all the other MKF videos were deleted in 2014. This video was made by JudgeSpear and recovered using WebArchive. If you have any more MKF related assets (videos, sprites, music, game builds, etc.), please let me know.
