NagiAsu is an anime that I've considered my favorite for more than 5 years that I've been an anime fan and was a pretty big part of my internet life. After a recent rewatch however, I just didn't see the anime that I used to love in it anymore, which took me by surprise and made me go through a bit of a flashback of all the memories I had of the show. It sounds kind of stupid, but thinking of NagiAsu as my favorite thing ever has been a constant in my life for many years, and to have it now gone, it felt sad. I wanted to portray a bit of that sentimentality in an amv from it, as a sort of final goodbye before I move on elsewhere in the anime world.Luckily for me, it ended up being not a tough goodbye at all because it's likely the most frustrating source I've ever edited and I've grown to hate it from that alone. I dare you to come with a better concept.The video has its share of flaws but I did a decent job I'd say. This was my entry for 2019 Akicon's AMV contest. I didn't win anything :(, though I was kinda expecting that. Not popular enough to succeed with fans and not good enough to win a judges' award. Well, if I place in at least the Top 3 that'd be good enough. Competition update: So I finished 4th in the audience award (2 points away from winning something) and 3rd in the jury award (1 point away from being tied for 1st place = winning something). Funnily enough, if one person didn't mess up their voting card by sending it too late to be counted, I would've really been tied for 1st place :D I don't wanna sound mad because I'm not, in fact I'm very much fine with the placings I got because DrPenguin's Yuanfen was just too good for me to tie. Replaced - Princess Principal [AMV] [NatsuCon 2018] Tommy 2018-07-16 | While making this video, I was able to realize a couple of things:1) I'm really bad at story-telling2) There are not many usable scenes in Princess Principal. On the other hand, it is the first time I've seen an anime with more than 50% of Roto Brush success.3) Making up scenes in your own head and then raging when they're not in the anime is not an effective way to make AMVs.4) My schedule is a joke, same for my work ethic.So, yeah. A lot of things learned. Overall, I would close out this project as a mild success.
