Improvement of 7776 frames over the published movie (WHY NOT QUAD 7 !)
Few small changes, but mostly it comes from better understanding of the mechanics and a bit of luck with the random numbers I had.
If you're wondering why I stutter step a lot, it makes the RNG pointer go faster, so that is mainly to help it reach the desire point at a faster speed to set up either future battles or have quicker cutscenes. Same thing with running in circle. It loses a bit of time but makes the next part go much faster.Final Fantasy VII any% Tool Assisted Test in 4h45m49s In-Game TimeTheLilGecko2024-11-15 | 4h45m49 In-Game Time at the final hit on Sephiroth. With the big new skip coming out recently, this is something I put together quickly while I had a bit of motivation.
It's not super optimized and can definitely be improved, especially the item pick-ups where I didn't need them all. It would need a second attempt to make a proper TAS, though I really like how it looks. I mainly wanted to have an idea of how much time the world map shenanigans could shave off.
Also, if anybody is wondering, while my health hasn't improved yet, it hasn't worsened and it looks like it may be going in the right direction, so I may still work on things once in a while :)Final Fantasy 7 100% TAS in 12h03m14s IGT (PART 2/2)TheLilGecko2023-11-04 | I've decided to make another attempt at it and saved around 15 minutes over the LOTAD version.Final Fantasy 7 100% TAS in 12h03m14s IGT (PART 1/2)TheLilGecko2023-11-04 | I've decided to make another attempt at it and saved around 15 minutes over the LOTAD version[TAS] Final Fantasy 7 in 6h05m42 (In-Game Time) - PSX loading speedTheLilGecko2023-05-01 | This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun of Final Fantasy 7 any% using Slots. Enjoy ! :)Final Fantasy IX (PSX Version) in 7h06m02 - God-Like RNG %TheLilGecko2023-03-17 | Ever wondered how fast you could beat FF9 if you had God-like RNG ?
Ever since I've made TASes for PSX games, I've been frustrated to have to TAS with PS1 loading speeds. With Duckstation though, we have an emulator really close to a PS2 with Fast Disc Speed in term of loadings. So I'm playing with Duckstation, recording segments after modifying the RNG table as I please, that I splice together to simulate what it would be like to have God-like RNG. 3 things to note : 1) This is NOT a legit run !. It should not be compared with anything and its only goal is to entertain. 2) Since every segment is played in real time, nothing is perfect. I'm most likely losing frames on every screen but I do the best I can, without spending too much time. 3) Menus are done with macros to not lose seconds every time. 4) Since I gave myself total control over the RNG, this features many strats that would be too unlikely to happen in a regular TAS.
Hope you enjoy !Final Fantasy IX - God RNG% (Tool Assisted) - Sub 2h Disc 1!TheLilGecko2022-12-05 | Fun little project I'm doing when I have a bit of time. This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun of FF7, the "No slots" category. It is done on emulator with savestates, frame advance, memory watching,... It is not meant to show skills, but rather, what would happen with perfect luck. It cannot be compared with RTA runs, and it uses PSX loading speeds which are quite slower than a PS2 with Fast Disc Speed. If it was possible to TAS with FDS, the time would be way closer to the 6 hours mark.

I uploaded another version of the skip earlier but deleted it because it ends up in a softlock state with Cloud alone. This is the proper way to do it.
Anyway, you need to move and talk to Barret on this X coordinate so both the talking and the trigger happen at the same time, which results on a dodge paralysis and you being able to talk to Tifa right away and move on.Kruela Mario 2 v1.1 [TAS]TheLilGecko2021-05-12 | (This is a Tool Assisted run, not played in Real Time)
Kruela Mario is a cool puzzle hack that requires a lot of glitches' knowledge to go through. I started quite a long time ago and only finished working on it recently which is why it's done on version 1.1. There is a newer version that I haven't checked which may fix some of those breaks.
Thanks to xHF01x for making this hack. Thanks to Dacinthewizard for his videos on Kruela Mario 2 which helped a lot figuring out some solutions as there were some glitches I didn't even know about. Thanks to Magikey for explaining how to remove the coins in Labirinto Nega Thanks to Amaraticando for explaining how a couple of glitches worked.
And thank you for watching !Final Fantasy IX 100% Perfect Game - Combined Stats Path - Post TAS checksTheLilGecko2021-01-28 | Few things to be noted : - About the inventory. There are 256 spots for items and only 255 items, so the last spot being empty is normal. The other one is for the Tin Armor. Like I mentioned in the TAS, you can't have both the Hammer and the Tin Armor as there is only one copy of the Hammer and you need to synthesize it to get a Tin Armor. So the second empty spot is normal also. - About the Tetra Master deck. Having 100 unique cards of A type, with unique arrow combinations gives you a perfect score of 1700 points. And also rewards you with a glitch. Your rank becomes "Would you like to discard this card ?" xD - For the Treasure Hunter score. At this point, you can only see it by going to the inn in Treno and watching the memory adress 0x77E78. You get 1 point per item/chest you pick up and 2 points per Chocobo treasure (Chocograph treasure/crack/bubble). I believe 440 to be the maximum obtainable but who knows.[Commented TAS] Final Fantasy IX 100% Perfect Game Combined Stats Path Playthrough Disc 4 - The EndTheLilGecko2021-01-28 | This is it my friends ! During the quarantine I had a lot of time and used it to create a new version of this TAS. It's still not finished, but since I decided not to go for 99 of each item, it's not far from it. Now I'm again with not a lot of free time, but since I had many people asking for it, I started working on the commentaries now and then, and here is Disc 1. Provided I don't get more free time, it might take a month or so, to make Disc 2 and that is, if I'm not trying to finish the movie file before the commentaries. Any% SlotsNew FF7 Guard SkipTheLilGecko2018-07-25 | I didn't find this skip, Tsunamods did. It's just a video showing it. From the starting position you can clip a little bit vertically between the guard and the right side. When you are a little bit inside, go Up+Left then Left for one or two frames. This will make you clip a little bit horizontally into the guard. Then Down+Right+X to reclip vertically.
Repeat the process to go further left into the guard.
The more left you are into the guard, the further vertically you go when going back Right and Down.
After a couple time you'll just pass through.FF9 : Biding 100 000 Gil in Treno Auction HouseTheLilGecko2018-06-27 | Fun little glitch, completely useless though. Normally you can't bid more than 99 900, but if you place a bid during the couple frames the lady in purple raise her arm, she will bid instead of you.
