Xamphur Guide (A Kingdom Divided) OSRS Aprilia RS 2021-08-31 | Xamphur is one of Xeric's closest comrades that players must fight during A Kingdom Divided. Xamphur mainly attacks using grasp spells, which can bind the player if damage is taken; praying Protect from Magic will greatly reduce any damage done by his grasp spells. He uses Protect from Magic himself during the fight, thus rendering him immune to Magic spells. The fight begins with a number of marks on the floor, and walking over these will inflict a Mark of Darkness upon on the player, causing Xamphur's grasp spells to become twice as effective, and cause corruption to occur twice as often if they get corrupted by one of the other mechanics mentioned below. When successfully dealing any damage, these hands will have a chance to cause the Corruption status effect, which drains some Prayer points every six seconds for some amount of time. Kill these as soon as they spawn to avoid being corrupted.He will summon ghostly hands which come crushing down on the tile the player is stood on every game tick (0.6 seconds) inflicting rapid damage. Players can avoid these by walking or running around the room (while avoiding the Marks of Darkness) until this attack stops. It is also possible to run back and forth to avoid this damage. This attack functions similarly to the fire balls in Vorkath's acid attack.Xamphur has over the last century planned a conspiracy spanning the entire of Great Kourend with the intention of bringing back his master, Xeric. He is referred to by the lizardmen as Yo'kal ahk.Long ago he played a role in plundering and looting Dinh's Redoubt in search of a location to perform experiments. In a letter written to High Priest Nistirio, Xamphur claims to have looted some of Dinh's equipment and taken it back to Quidamortem.During the 40th decade, Xamphur achieved a breakthrough in the study of teleportation, giving Xeric the ability to perform a previously impossible feat. This allowed him to instantly travel around Great Kourend and aided in the creation of his talisman.After Xeric's fall, Xamphur sought a way of bringing him back, but was unable to do so. Eventually he ended up imprisoned by the lizardmen in the Lizardman Temple in Molch, having been accused of his disappearance. A century before the events of A Kingdom Divided Xamphur managed to convince their shamans to release him and immediately began setting plans in motions to bringing Xeric back. This eventually led to Xamphur corrupting King Kharedst IV by giving him a cursed flask, an alliance and conspiracy with the future councillors of Kourend, the death of both King Kharedst and the crown princess Rose, the sabotage of the Dark Altar and the Doors of Dinh and presumably other schemes.Xamphur is later seen conversing with Veos over the status of his plan before they are discovered by the adventurer. In it, Xeric, who possessed Veos' body, commends Xamphur for his ambition and cunning, but tells him that he has no more use for Kourend, much to his confusion. Xeric then senses the adventurer and orders him to dispose of them before meeting him in the far south, implied to be Varlamore. The adventurer is able to injure him, but he quickly recovers and knocks them out with a powerful lightning spell and orders the lizardmen to dispose of their corpse. This would prove to be an oversight as the spell only rendered them unconscious, and the lizardmen tasked with the disposal fled, believing them to be a zombie. He later abandoned the area since it was compromised, and Arceuus mages discovered some new spells, some of which were given to the adventurer after they deemed it safe.

Mining and smashing barronite deposits gives the player a chance to receive a broken Imcando hammer.Once the player receives the broken hammer, they can use it on Ramarno, who will repair it for 1,250 Barronite shards. It should be noted that players must have the shards in the inventory, rather than giving them to Ramarno in advance.Once repaired, it can be used as a hammer, both while equipped and unequipped, in any way that a normal hammer can be used.The Imcando hammer is especially useful when fighting Tempoross as it will not be destroyed by flames nor be washed away by waves. Magic is the only reliable way of dealing damage to him, as Ranged attacks are heavily reduced, and Melee cannot be used. To start the fight, the four whirlpools around it must be disturbed; this will release a level 112 Enormous Tentacle, which attacks with Magic. When all four whirlpools are disturbed, the larger one can be disturbed, which will result in the Kraken popping out. Both the Kraken and its tentacles attack with magic; the Kraken can hit very hard, but often misses, while the tentacles are much more accurate but deal less damage. The Kraken and its tentacles use Typeless Magic and as such Protect from Magic does not prevent or reduce any damage they deal to the player (nor does it reduce their accuracy). The Kraken's projectile resembles Fire Wave.Players can create a Kraken instance for 25,000 coins. The player does not need to carry coins on them to create the instance.

They are then placed in designated spots on Fossil Island to catch birds, providing a passive method of training Hunter and gaining resources.Additionally, Ironmen will need a Construction level of 25 to build a crafting table 2 for assembling clockwork.Once the bird house trap has been set, players will need to fill it with 10 low level hop seeds or herb seeds (Krandorian/Harralander or lower) or 5 high level seeds (Wildblood/Ranarr or above). Once the trap is full of seed, it will passively capture birds at random tick intervals (an average of once every 5 minutes), up to a maximum of 10. To claim the Hunter experience and loot, players must return to the bird house trap to empty and dismantle it. The bird house will be lost in the process, but the clockwork will be returned, meaning players only need four clockworks to set all their bird houses indefinitely, after which they will only need to bring hammer, chisel, logs, and seeds. However, it is recommended to take a fifth clockwork to craft birdhouses while moving between sites.The chance of successfully receiving a bird nest is dependent on the tier of bird house and the player's Hunter level. The seeds used do not affect amount of nests received.There are four spots on Fossil Island in which players can place bird house traps, indicated by the Bird house site icon.png icon.The first and second are found in the Verdant Valley, south of the Museum Camp.The third is found west of the ancient shroom in the Mushroom Forest, and directly north of the magic mushtree.The fourth is found by the entrance to the Tar Swamp.All of these spots are easily accessible by using the Digsite pendant teleport to Fossil Island after using the pendant on the strange machine at the House on the Hill, then using the magic mushtree in the House on the Hill.

He can also be found in the Uzer dungeon during the Shadow of the Storm quest. He can also be spoken with by using the NPC Contact spell after the Dream Mentor quest. However, he does not say anything important.It was revealed that he came to be part of the Lumbridge Secret Council because it was decided that an evil wizard should be included, but it had to be one that was harmless (for the sake of everyone). Currently, Evil Dave is the only one who has those requirements.Wily Cat'sA wily cat is a special variant of a pet cat, which players gain access to by completing the Ratcatchers quest. After completion, players can speak to Felkrash to have her train their overgrown cat into a wily cat. (Warning: After training your overgrown cat to be a wily cat, you will start from zero for the number of rats caught for the cat training medal.) Wily cats are the best hunters of any cat, with a success rate of 70%. When fighting Hell-Rat Behemoths they have higher health, get hit less often, and can hit slightly higher than regular cats. In addition, they can also catch Kalphite Larvae and butterflies (as well as Hunter butterflies, though this yields no experience). Wily cats do not require food of any kind (Unless when fighting Hell-Rat Behemoths).Players are only allowed to have one wily or lazy cat at a time, in addition to one kitten or adult cat, and as many overgrown cats as they wish. You may have multiple wily cats if you first store your existing wily cat in your menagerie before training another.Spices Orange spice is one of four spices dropped by Hell-Rats in Evil Dave's basement that is located in the Northwestern room. This will produce any coloured spice with 1 to 4 doses. Alternatively players may have their cat fight the Hell-Rat Behemoth for a guaranteed 4 dose spice of a specific colour. If the orange spice is used in a stew, it becomes a spicy stew, which can temporarily raise the stats of Cooking, Crafting, Construction, Firemaking, Fletching, Runecraft, or Smithing. The amount it can raise these stats depends on how many doses used in the stew (between 1 and 3). Each dose of spice can cause the boost to either increase or decrease a stat by -1 to +1, up to a maximum of -5 or +5 with three doses.Spices of the same colour can be used with each other, so that they are combined to save space. The maximum number of doses is 4. Once all doses are used, it becomes an empty spice shaker, which is currently useless.Orange spice is considered one of the most useful spices, along with brown. This is because spicy stew with 3 orange spices has the potential to boost skills far more than tradable equivalents, with the one exception of Cooking, which is more effectively boosted with Chef's delight (m).It is suggested that you use a wily cat to catch the Hell-Rats because they offer a better chance to kill the rats than any other feline. At the very least, one should not use kittens, as their success rate is extremely low.
