My Journey to Antarctica Did Not Go Well Lab Report 2018-10-29 | For the vast majority of human history, NO ONE KNEW WHAT WAS AT THE SOUTH POLE. Antarctica is the most elusive and mysterious place on earth. The first documented case of a human being sighting the Antarctic mainland happened 200 years ago. That's crazy, that an entire continent bigger than the United States went UNSEEN for hundreds of thousands of years.People dream of visiting Antarctica because it's a stunningly beautiful, strange, and dangerous place, untouched by human hands. Personally, I never really thought about it until I got the call for this gig, but once I started researching this series, I got more excited than I've ever been in my life. Not only are we going to visit Antarctica, but we're going to LIVE THERE with a bunch of other cool scientists for 6 weeks. There are plenty of cruise ship companies that will ferry you down to Antarctica for like $20,000 and let you touch the mainland for a couple hours, but there's only one way to live there...SCIENCE.I'm going with renowned scientist Dr. H. William Detrich to research how the Antarctic Icefish will react to climate change. Expedition Antarctica Trailer Lab Report 2018-10-29 | Dr. Bill Detrich and I spent 6 months creating this series, including a 6 week trip to Palmer Station, Antarctica. The trip didn't exactly go as planned, but I don't want to spoil episode 1....Episode 1 follows our modern journey to Antarctica. On the way we learn about the heroic age of Antarctic exploration 100 years ago.Episode 2 is everything you SHOULD know about Antarctica, but probably don't. For example: is Antarctica larger or smaller than the USA? I bet you don't know.Episode 3 is all about Dr. Detrich's research on the Antarctic Icefish.
