VERY LIMITED QUANTITY MAP GUIDE! CEDAR POINT HALLOWEEKENDS & Mister Midnight Clips 22 | amusement420 amusement420 2022-10-05 | These are scans of the11x17" printed Cedar Point HalloWeekends Park Map Guide 2022. Cedar Point has chosen to print limited quantities in favor of relying on phones and their app. I've been told by a longtime employee that only two cases were printed (I don't know the total, but the point is these are hard to come by). The reason also probably is it saves on printing and everything that goes along with the logistics in favor of park visitors scanning a QR code on the park map signs – shown in the video – to use the online park map. They might rely too heavily on phones though. Not everyone has one or takes one into the park.These scans are 5 seconds long each. Title screens are placed to easily find the sections you’d like to see. This video effort took a while to do. But it's the type of thing I like to see. I watch videos. I share videos. Consider clicking on some ads to defray the cost of a season pass to bring you more hi-quality content! Thanx for watching!I got mine at Guest Services. It sounds like they don't readily give them out. I’ve asked at the toll booth, gift shops, Hotel Breakers and even the town hall info booth. They were nice but they said no we don’t have any so they said either scan the QR on the park signs with a phone or try the guest services at the front.I saw an older gentleman with one and asked him where he got his. He said guest services but he rolled his eyes and said “it seemed like they didn’t want to give me one.” I know a couple people who they wouldn’t give them to.Note: An issue I had when trying to access the equally hard-to-locate park map guide on their web site is my security software said it's not safe to access. So I didn't.Regardless people like myself to collect printed park maps. I'm glad I got one. However, it ended up being fun to do by adding title screens with select show audio clips, which is what used to be done in videos.Herb is a returning performer (the third that’s been in the show since 2020). Phlemgina (the second) and Isador (the third) are new for 2022. The costumes and Witch hats are very well done.Cedar Point placed park benches inside the Fort. A tripod that was used later in the day – to shoot full stage wide shots of HalloWeekends’ Opening ScaryMoanies and The Shrieks (see HalloWeekends playlist below) – was used for this video to keep the camera more the height of a standing kid’s POV (or ToT’s aka Trick-or-Treaters aka as we call them on Halloween ; ) It’s a little shaky at first as the tripod gets picked up occasionally. PARADE - CELEBRATE CEDAR POINT SPECTACULAR OPENING DAY 2022 | amusement420 amusement420 2022-06-25 | The Parade and song is shown by the Main Arcade and Lakeside Midway by Giant Wheel. It starts at 7pm and run thru 7:45pm. The parade route begins at GateKeeper, then down the Lakeside Midway past Giant Wheel, turns left at the corner by Planet Snoopy, goes straight towards Valravn, turns left down the Main Midway by Cadillac Cars, goes down that Midway, turns left by Raptor’s entrance, turns left past the Midway Games up the other side of the Main Midway past the Main Arcade where the first part of this video was shot. I edited down the dance stops for time. It then turns right past The Pagoda Gift Shop, around past Planet Snoopy. As well as with signs outside venues and stages that need them. It’s relying on phones too much which not everyone brings into the park. It’s an unnecessary lazy cost savings approach. BANISHED BACKSTORY EXCLUSIVE & SCREAMSTERS Cedar Point Haunt at HalloWeekends 2021 | amusement420 amusement420 2021-10-28 | My video shows the new “Banished” Haunt Zone with Exclusive Backstory audio at Cedar Point Haunt at HalloWeekends on Frontier Trail 2021. The 2.5min interesting backstory is well-read. It was recorded with my camcorder for 20min standing underneath a small speaker at the tunnel entrance at the end of the night. I layered it in iMovie to find the parts without ambient noise resulting in five sections spliced together. It turned out very well. However, you can’t hear it very well during haunt zone hours. I thought is was a PSA. I’m glad I walked past it at closing. That’s how I’m confident it’s exclusive.The video is in two sections. In the first, audio is combined with lowered volume Screamster footage. In the second, the Screamsters and Sliders are without the backstory.Video by amusement420.This was quite a free video effort. It was fun to do as a document as part of Cedar Point Haunt at HalloWeekends. I hand’t shot this zone this extensively since 2006-2008 and 2010 with Cyrus when it was named “The Fright Zone”. Those videos are on my playlist below. I have an an affinity for Frontier Trail and the original Fight Zone I recorded in the past. It’s a good theme for a Frontier Trail zone. Interesting Screamster characters, sliders, costumes, makeup. atmosphere, props, lighting and performances gave me something interesting to work with. The Banished logo and type Font is well done. I created the title screens.A video like this won’t make much YouTube AdSense earnings approx. 50-cents. No joke. So please Share, Like, Comment, Subscribe, watch other videos and click on Ads even to skip them etc. That helps. This is more interesting if not esoteric than a lot of videos. I like to see the number of view counts and Likes go up if nothing else.Here’s how it was shot for informational purposes and for my own records:Sep 24 [The bulk of the footage of Screamsters and Fort Sandusky & a 1500 watt fog machine (I asked a tech). I didn’t know how it would be edited. I stood in front of the fort behind the canon and then on the perimeter of the zone to have fun getting good shots. I hadn’t seen this zone in action before. There was no Call of the Scare gathering of Screamsters from every zone and house this season that park visitors have seen in the past that’s on my channel. The Banished Screamsters gathered in the fort prior to 8pm. I recorded them from 8-8:30pm. This video could have been longer but it highlights the best parts of those Screasmsters. The Screamsters on subsequent nights I shot in one take as I walked thru the zone. If I missed any I unfortunately didn’t see them or they weren’t there]Oct 1 [Pumpkinhead scarecrows–is what I call them–which weren’t all there during the first night, bungee jumper in one take, Fort Sandusky Screamster actor–all I shot is what’s in the video–and the Banished promo on Hotel Breakers info monitor screen]Oct 8 [The Banished backstory audio was edited from five sections due to the noise from park guests and employees walking thru the tunnel, Millennium Force and loudspeaker music. The view of distant lightning behind the Slaughterhouse Haunted Maze was serendipitous. The camera was pointed at the entrance for just that amount of time]Oct 17 [“Banished” tunnel entrance sign and pumpkinhead scarecrow with Millennium Force after the zone was closed for the night. I never get to Cedar Point early. I always stay late.]Oct 22 [A couple of Screamsters toward the end of the night]The edited audio track was laid down first in iMovie. Then the Canon R400 1080P60 video clips were added from the footage to fit with what I interpreted what the backstory was telling. It was relatively easy to put together. GIANT FERRIS WHEEL PUMPKIN & GHOST Cedar Point HalloWeekends 2021 | amusement420 amusement420 2021-10-26 | Most have seen the Pumpkin. But how many have seen the Ghost? The Halloween motif portion of the Cedar Point HalloWeekends annual light display on the 145ft tall Giant (Ferris) Wheel. It was shot next to the Kiddy Kingdom Carousel merry-go-round. That’s the music playing. “At Cedar Point, bigger is better, and nothing is quite as big as the Giant Wheel. As one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the United States, riders are taken up and above the Lake Erie shoreline with views as far as the eyes will take them. While those seeking out the ultimate thrill are next door at Wicked Twister, this ride has brought riders back for more since its opening in 1972. Travel 145 feet in the air, gripping at the sides of one of 36 cabins, each filled with travelers awed by the sights and sounds that only this vantage point can provide. 'The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' is looped every HalloWeekends season on the Breaker's lobby monitor. The title screen audio is from a clip I don't show of the Witches entering down the hallway in 'attract mode' to gather children at the same time. It serendipitously matched Witch Lucy on the monitor. The showtime images were on the Breaker's rotunda info & promo wall monitors. I didn't know the Witches would perform there until I saw those. They shot their first promo photo in front of Breakers. The rotunda is in the back on the beach side. The show logo is well designed. The fonts are classic House Industries HouseofDeath and HouseofTerror. The 'dark and stormy night' clip outside Breakers rotunda is from a previous season after it rained.@14:35 Green Witch Isador also featuring Herb helping with sound effects inside Hotel Breakers Lobby on Fri Sep 24, 2021 at 9pm was the first story I shot. The video is grainy since the compact camcorder is shooting in low light. It works fine for these Halloween shows. The Breakers storytimes featured all three Witches dressed in capes during each show. I shot this from the 2nd floor photo gallery which they change for HalloWeekends. I didn't know how close kids would be and wanted them out of the frame so I zoomed in from there but was able to get Herb in as a result. The lobby is noisy but Isador has a strong voice.@16:25 Phlemigna’s door bell was fun. Didn't know she was going to do that. I just panned the camera.@18:30 Isador’s reaction was funny when some kids were leaving right before the end of the story.They all play their characters very well as did last season’s.@19:45 Hotel Breakers rotunda traditional ceiling lighting bat gobo pattern that's always cool to see but is absent this season so I show them in the 2019 season. Update: They put the bat pattern up when I was there the following week. The crickets chirping audio is from a separate video shot on Frontier Trail.If it's a fun HalloWeekends show like this I spend a little more time on it. Families like The Witch Sisters. I have videos of last year’s shows in front of the cabin across the way.The signage in the video are Friday showtimes. Sat and Sun may differ. Showtimes aren’t on the Cedar Point web site. It should be on their app.The area inside the fort was available when the leather shop moved out. The moose antlers decor could be removed, imho. Not very witchy.I used cute stock illustrations to black out a couple of audience participation children’s faces. The girls were too close to the camera when they turned around for my tastes. I got lucky. It poured right after this show. The Dreadtime story was cancelled. All of the outdoor show videos this season had great weather which is a big reason I uploaded so many.I’ve recorded The Witch Sisters Dreadtime stories for a separate video. To date, I have the story read by Herb and Isador in Hotel Breakers lobby. They were fun performances and audience participation in a different setting. Phlemigna’s story time was too noisy because of the long line of guests checking in at the front desk and the loud restaurant. I didn’t record it.
