Version 2 looks worse, but is cheaper and smaller. Flush means that the redstone is completely hidden behind the door, perfect for hiding in a mountain side! I've seen some claim that they've created a flush door, but then they have redstone or pistons under it. These designs tuck everything "neatly" behind the wall.Sorry for the editing mishap toward the end. That was the editing program rendering incorrectly =(
