Building a 170k BTU Propane Metal Casting Torch Don Brandt 2020-01-21 | In this video i demonstrate the construction and testing of a Propane Metal Casting Torch. This torch is approximately 170,000 Btu (British Thermal Units) and the temperature is 1980 Degrees Celsius or 3596 Degrees Fahrenheit. The Stand is constructed of aluminum and 80-20 T-Slot. I’m using a standard Propane tank with an adjustable regulator. For the low-pressure Propane I’m using standard quick connect air fittings. I will be using this torch to melt, Copper, Brass, and possibly steel in a crucible using petrobond in future videos.
