The first is the weight of an insurmountable past. The second is discovering a key to the unknown. The third is the endless hunger of perfection. The fourth is for everything to become nothing.
It has been 5 long months since I began working on this Fortnite edit, just after The Seventh Dream was released. I haven't put this much passion and effort into an edit in a very long time, and I'm quite proud of the result. This edit means a lot to me. I won't explain everything here since I provide more insight on this edit in its Mind of an Editor episode. If you are interested in behind the scenes stuff, the link is above.
I will be taking an indefinite break from editing now that this Fortnite edit is finally released. I've experienced multiple burnouts due to editing, and continuing at this pace would be an unhealthy decision. I'd like to take time off and focus on other things for a while, and I'll return when I'm ready. To be clear, I'm not quitting. I could do some short editing streams every now and then just to stay in touch. I still enjoy sharing my editing tricks and giving feedback on edits. The SFX pack will still be updated normally.

Hey everyone, I'm happy to finally share this Visitor episode. It definitely took the longest time to make. I essentially merged two episodes into one, and added a full cinematic of the Fortnite live cube event at the end. It may also be the last episode of the Visitor series depending on what will happen during the rest of this season with AIM, the Hunting Party week 7 skin that recently came out. I'll still be making the same type of story edits, so don't worry about that. I just feel the need to move on to different characters and focus on other stories for now.
Instead of typing everything in a description no one will read, I'll save the detailed explanation of all this for a video. I plan on doing a director's commentary of every episode once the series ends at some point, so stay tuned for that if you want to know more about the Visitor story I created and how I did certain things.

I had no idea what to title this so I just used the song title pls don't judge.
"I can't see the gameplay"Halo 5 Custom Deadeye HUDBullet Rebel2017-05-17 | This was something I planned on doing for Eclipse, but for many reasons I scrapped it. The main reason was because custom HUDs can't coexist with aspect ratio black bars, so I chose to have the cinematic aspect ratio over the experimental Halo 5 HUD.
This custom Halo 5 HUD has been sitting in my project files since Eclipse was being edited, so I figured I would just release a demo of it alongside some other animations that have been collecting dust instead of deleting the files.
The HUD is completely made from scratch by myself, except for the grenade and weapon indicators which are green screened images. The reason the radar isn't there is because the only way to implement it would be to mask it, but that creates multiple problems and it looks bad overall.
I also added my own kill feed and sniper scope because I can.
I played around in customs with some of the Paradise Perceptions guys on a forge map created by myself as usual. Might have ended up being too blinding, but I like how it turned out anyway.
I am moving away from montage editing for a while and will be experimenting with Halo edits like these more often. I still have quite a few ideas for the Paths trilogy (Assuming it ends up being a trilogy), but grinding clips and editing longer montages is currently too time consuming. I guess you could consider these small Halo edits as fillers.
I have no idea what I'm going to do with my channel after this. Maybe another Mind of an Editor. I've busy lately and my time for editing is more limited than it used to be.
About me, Blood Moon was really tiresome to make, and now after making Path of Eternity, Halo 5 has definitely burnt me out. I've stopped going for clips altogether. I rarely play nowadays. When I do, it's to have fun, not lose my sanity grinding clips in Onyx FFA all day.
About the clips, Same Onyx/Champion gameplay as you'd expect; mostly map exploits or jump spots that people wouldn't think is skillful anyway. Theater screwed me over multiple times which made me go for the same clip multiple times. I would've gotten more/better clips, but I stopped playing Halo for a while and settled with what I had.
About the machinima, I wanted this to be different from my other machinitages, so I added dialogue all voiced by me which probably made you cringe, and I tried to make a more refined story compared to the metaphorical mess my previous Halo trilogy was (This was also supposed to be a trilogy, but I have no intention of doing so anymore). Also, I wanted to have a beginning, middle and end to try and find a balance between machinima and montage which my previous videos lacked in my opinion.
I used multiple songs from The Aurora Principle in this video, and I intend on continuing to do so for this series because I think it's a perfect fit. I encourage you to listen to the entire album along with all his other songs if ambient music interests you.

I have a new montage/machinitage (possibly another trilogy) and a new series (that probably won't do well but whatever) coming in the near future.
I used to watch a lot of Ash100HD's gun syncs and I've had the idea of doing one since Halo 4. Making gun syncs is much more difficult and tedious than I imagined. It's not just copy pasting as many would think (Not the way I did it, anyway).
I started by syncing the audio using Mixcraft 7, then pre-composed each gun sound with its matching video, finally I put it all together and did some polishing.
Any suggestions for a video I should do next year? Let me know!

Thinking about it now, I haven't seen a single Halo related tutorial, so since they aren't so popular I figured that I shouldn't waste my time doing any. If enough people really are interested, I could do it. Let me know.
Every single one of these clips where hit in high Onyx / Champion tier except for the last one which was Diamond. During my Free-For-All grind, I would often get placed in lobbies with 4+ Champions which made me frustrated and made me doubt the worth of getting high rank clips, because I would frequently tell myself that no one would care, they would simply judge the clip based on what they see in the montage. I would often go for the same clip multiple times because I wasn't satisfied with how It looked the first few times I hit them. Often, the first time would be in low tiers like Platinum or Diamond, but I would go for them again once I reached Onyx / Champion, and again because I didn't like how I died right after hitting the clip, and then again, again, again.
I'm crazy, I know.
The Allegory of the Void ends with this final montage. I know the entire story is confusing. Maybe I'll explain it, maybe I'll leave it to interpretation. This is a rare project in the sense that the Allegory of the Void is much more personal than any other Halo montage, one clip edit, or other content I've made. The story is essentially about how I view myself as an editor, how my often twisted mind influences my content and the evolution of my emotional state.
Halo 5 has drained my will and energy. I don't care if this video doesn't get many views. I don't care if you think my clips are bad. I don't care if you dislike my transitions or lack thereof. I'm just too tired to care anymore. I have no plans to continue editing videos of a game that provides me with features that either are broken, buggy or nonexistent. I might decide to continue editing Halo 5 videos and make a few more smaller-scale montages and one clip edits, or I might go back to other games. As of now, my future as an editor is uncertain...
