Moody Pink Floyd Backing Track In D Minor Fused Guitar 2020-04-01 | Backing Track Starts at 1:14It`s bad practice to compress your lead guitar signal, well someone forgot to tell David Gilmore, compress, then compress again, before you compress some more.This jam track is in the key of D minor, but includes the chords G major and A major which should both be minor chords if in D minor, this is an example of modal interchange. Modal interchange is the practice of borrowing chords from the parallel key, in this case D major, so G minor becomes G major and A minor becomes A major. Improvising on guitar over these chords is just just a matter of switching to the parallel key so here you switch from the D minor scale to the D major scale.I tried using this approach for the lead guitar on this backing track but it was sounding too jazzy so I stuck to D minor pentatonic most of the time and just used chord tones to introduce a stronger melody.So have fun soloing with along with Pink Floyd on this backing track.

Fused Guitar 2017-12-05 | READ DESCRIPTION FIRST!This is not your usual backing track to play guitar over where you are told the key and then just shred the scale. Featuring non-functional dominant chords you will need to play to the chords and not the key, this is a great(and often over-looked) skill to develop. The progression is quite straight forward:Gm/G#13/Gm/F#13Scale wise I chose Gm pentatonic for Gm7G# Lydian dominant for G#13F# Lydian dominant for F#13There are other scale choices these were just the ones I like at the time. To give your improvising a strong connection to the chords find target notes to highlight the chord changes. I used root notes(G/G#/F#) which give a strong, stable connection, other intervals, especially 3rds and 7ths give a different feel. Dorian Gm-Em Backing Track, And Target Note Practice Tips. Fused Guitar 2017-11-24 | Backing track starts at1:30.This backing track is a great way to practice improvising melodically over chord changes, four bars of Em followed by four bars of Gm in 7/4 time.. In the diagrams E Dorian mode is blue and G Dorian mode is orange, notes shared by both modes are half and half. You will see some notes are not in both scales, these are the notes to aim for on the chord changes, see which notes you prefer on the changes and remember them. This sort of improvising when you follow chord changes instead of sticking to one scale takes practice, just ask John Coltrane(ok, you can`t but he did practice a lot!).Try to play through the backing track everyday for a week and see how you have improved at following the chord changes in a musical way, it is an important skill to develop.If this helps please sub and like.Have fun.

So here is a blues intro for just such an occasion, it`s in E and uses the descending progression A7-G7-E7-B7, this sets you up to launch into a traditional 12-bar blues.Using the minor pentatonic as a guide with the added intervals of M3rd, M6th, and b5th it starts on the 5th fret A pentatonic, moves down 3 frets to G pentatonic and repeats the same lick, then to E pentatonic in the open position, ending on a B7#9 chord. It sounds more complicated to explain than to play, start slowly and work up to speed. Fused Guitar 2017-10-06 | To avoid all the guff at the beginning the BT starts at 1:12 Although the majority of blues 12-bars are of the dominant blues variety this backing track is a minor blues, it is important to be able to negotiate this type of chord sequence(just ask Jimmy page,,,,,, if you bump into him,,,,you never know,,,,).The minor pentatonic will work over this blues, but also try experimenting with the natural minor, especially over the Dm7 (iv) chord, add the green notes to the pentatonic scale for the natural minor scale as shown in the video.The progression is a standard 12-bar sequence just using minor 7th chords, the final bar in the backing track is just E5 so you could play Em7 or for a stronger pull to the resolution of the Am7 chord you could try E7#9. This track is based around a riff in the key of A using 4th intervals, Cheap Sunglasses and Tush are both examples of the power of this sound. One thing ZZ are skilled at is retaining their blues roots yet at the same time updating their sound. It uses a combination of string picking, pull-offs, and hammer-ons to great effect.
