Picture by me. Kinda convincing for a Sonic 2 16-bit remake, amirite?Pocket Bomberman Improvement: First LookBluestreakedLady2024-07-05 | Pocket Bomberman was originally made for the original monochrome Game Boy in Japan in 1997. One could see it as a 2D counterpart to Bomberman Hero, despite coming out a year earlier over there. In 1998, it was brought to the West as a GBC launch title, and with not only haphazard coloring, but they didn't even bother to redraw some of the graphics to not look awful with the GBC's palette constraints (see the banner in the Jump Game menu and score screens, or the clear pixels in many sprites).
Having grown fond of this oddity in the series, I decided to redo as many sprites and graphics to make the game look better on GBC, with plans to eventually redo every palette in the game.
If anyone wishes to help with the project, please do! I wanna make this game look better than what we got.Pat Robertson is Dead.BluestreakedLady2023-06-08 | Another one bites the dust.Sonic 2 DX: First 2 & a Half Zones (WIP)BluestreakedLady2022-08-03 | NOTE: This is not a full progress vid. I have much more done on the hack, but I wanted to mainly show off the first two Zones due to having their bosses redrawn fully. Many things are subject to change. And no, do not ask for demos, or I will ban you.
Note that the strange wall-through in Aqua Lake 2 was a "dev shortcut" I forgot about, to make the levels a bit less tedious for testing. That is also why that spring is added at the end of the level too.
To do for Sky High: Replace Sky High Act 1's ring graphics. Fix some tiling issues in Sky High Act 2.
To do for Aqua Lake: Redraw Mecha Sealion, redraw air bubbles, get rid of "dev shortcuts."
To do for Green Hills: Fix some tiling issues for loops, redraw Mecha Pig.
To do for Gimmick Mtn.: Fix some misplaced chunks in Act 1 and 2, redraw Boar Mecha.
To do for Scrambled Egg: Finish up level layouts for Act 1 and 3.
To do for Crystal Egg: Not started yet.
To do for ending: It's a surprise!Knuckles Adventure: First LookBluestreakedLady2021-04-13 | I always wanted another game like Tails' Adventures, but I also wanted to make an origin story for Knuckles in the classic dimension. Made from Alex Kidd's engine with KiddEd, this Metroidvania-lite takes our hero into the past, on a mission to defeat the mysterious villain, Rekna, and keep him from rewriting the past and ruling all of Mobius!
No download until finished. Can't let Canal Pirata Sega steal and modify this without permission like when I put the Alex Kidd in Mario World demo up for download.Who Needs Backwards Long Jumps?BluestreakedLady2021-02-19 | Backwards long jumps? Nah, it's all about backward spin jumps now.A hack begins!BluestreakedLady2019-11-22 | Sorry for the crap quality of the video. KEGA Fusion's video quality is beyond awful.
So, I've been taking advice to move to the Genesis, and thusly I'm going to show off what I have done after over a week of bugfixing and adding in the Spindash, Robotnik monitor, and currently familiarizing myself with SonED2.
You may recognize the palette for Green Hill from a previous project I have worked on.
This is barely even a beta, and not indicative of the final product at all. I can say Sonic's palette has been finalized though (it's from Sonic Crackers)Sonic 3 Beta 1103 Music: Launch Base Act 2BluestreakedLady2019-11-17 | Definitely better than the Act 1, but still not fitting in my opinion. MJ got it right!Sonic 3 Beta 1103 Music: Launch Base Act 1BluestreakedLady2019-11-17 | This tune feels unfitting for the tone of Launch Base. Way too agonizingly happy-go-lucky for the re-launch of the most powerful instrument of destruction Robotnik ever had in the classic games' continuity.
Thank you, Michael Jackson, for replacing this song.Sonic 3 Beta 1103 Music: Ice Cap Act 2BluestreakedLady2019-11-17 | Knuckles' eventual route seems to be the default here, and the music sounds a bit too similar to Act 1.Sonic 3 Beta 1103 Music: Ice Cap Act 1BluestreakedLady2019-11-17 | The hard times haven't come yet, but Sonic's spending the happiest days of his life running down a mountain slop without a snowboard.Sonic 3 Beta 1103 Music: Carnival Night Act 2BluestreakedLady2019-11-17 | Nice underwater palette! The Act 2 just isn't as likable as the first imo.Sonic 3 Beta 1103 Music: Carnival Night Act 1BluestreakedLady2019-11-17 | While it may not be your jam, it's shocking to find out the PC version of the song was what was originally intended for Carnival Night. At least unlike the PC version, the original Genesis rendition actually sounds goodSuper Mario World SMS: New Castle Stuff!!BluestreakedLady2019-08-20 | Enter the castle courses and see some redrawn enemies, with sprites straight from the SNES version. The Spike Tops have become Bony Beetles (to fit more with the level theme), the rolling fireballs have become Hotheads, Eerie sprites are now from the SNES version, as are the Buzzy Beetles, Boo Buddies, and Bowser statue flames. The HUD has also been updated too!Super Mario World SMS (Super Boy 4 Hack)BluestreakedLady2019-08-19 | This hack has been on the backburner for years, and finally, I've gotten to it. Super Mario World for Master System is a graphics hack that changes Super Boy into Mario and edits items, blocks, and even some enemies to be closer to Super Mario World.
The hardest part of hacking this game is figuring out how to change sprite palettes (and Mario's fire palette to be correct), and changing the blocks, coins, cherry coins, and HUD for each level type.Alex Kidd in Mario World DEMO 2 (7 levels)BluestreakedLady2019-03-25 | Alex KIdd is back in the crossover game of the SEGA-century! Guide our hero through classic Super Mario Bros. stages, fighting Bowser's baddies along the way.
This hack's four years in the making. While not all enemies have yet been changed, and a few glitches remain (World 1-4 and World 3-1), this definitely shows the general idea.

TO DO BEFORE RELEASE: * Rewrite ending screen * Change ending screen palette * Have Bomberman start at fire level 2 (and switch the items for the first and second stages. Don't worry, a vanilla version will also exist). Hopefully DANGER X will give me pointers on how to have our hero start with a fire level of 2. * MAYBE change title screen.FCEUX Test (Sonic NES Final Boss & Ending)BluestreakedLady2019-01-15 | While recording the movie, the emulator and laptop slowed down immensely. For me, this was the big showstopper when it came to Genesis hacks for SHC2018. The art blew me away, and I loved Sonic's animations, and Pepsi City was amazing. Also, the final boss was sweet. Idk who (or what) they are, or their name, and their evil plot, but they looked cool.

Act 1BluestreakedLady2017-07-13 | This Zone cannot be completed without debug, and will not use it so I do not spoil the whole level. Stargazer One is Resort Island's Death Egg stand-in. The ground graphics are mostly the same in general. The lifts do not go in the right direction, and teleporters can send you inside a wall if you are not careful.
Stargazer One is only a RUMOURED name from CTRPentaPenguin, so it may not have that name in the final. The peaceful homeland has been invaded by the evil Rat Army, lead by the ruthless Shogun Fox. What can the people do? Neoguli and his friends know they mustn’t wait around for help, and so decide to take a stand against these evil invaders themselves. Using their cunning, Neoguli and his friends must thwart the enemy, venturing into the heart of the enemies’ territory, and confront the Shogun Fox himself - if they are to free their homeland! Their determination proves that the defence of one’s home is everybody’s duty.
This hack is based on the North Korean cartoon Clever Raccoon Dog (령리한너구리), with characters inspired by other North Korean cartoons as well. The powerups have been changed to Korean themed items, the text to Korean, and the enemies to traditional North Korean enemies. The main characters are as follows:
Neoguli (너구리 - Raccoon Dog) - the unofficial leader of the group, and an all-rounder in skills. Gom (곰 - Bear) - the strong one of the group, but slow and heavy. Yaongi (야옹이 - Kitty Cat) - the mischievous cat who can jump the highest. Tokki (토끼 - Rabbit) - the fastest runner of the group.Sonic Project Aspect: Round 2: Diamond Desert Zone 1BluestreakedLady2017-04-25 | The art is nearly done!! Layout isn't really changed, since I am just testing graphics. Sonic has an all-new palette since his original palette blended into the sky of this stage. Diamond Desert's first Zone (the present, shown here) takes place in a fusion of southwestern desert aesthetics, and some Egyptian stuff (the upside down pyramids with eyes, the Egyptian drums being the vertical springs). Had I had more tiles to work with, some more imagery, like a Sphinx, maybe an Osiris statue would have been made for the game.
I need to learn how to expand level sizes like in Sonic 2: Zen Island, so that the game's levels can be larger. This Zone is made to have many downward right-facing slopes, and one part will have an emphasis on hopping amongst the clouds. Like the larger Genesis cousins, I hope to have multiple routes you can take when possible. At least a high route and a low route.Alex Kidd in Mari W0rld: Episode 1: World 1BluestreakedLady2017-04-19 | drive.google.com/open?id=0B9l6t5vPdr_hY0dXd2k2aGFVbEk
*Title censored to get past the big N*. After quite a while, the old demo sat untouched. Now, thanks to JetStar1997, IT LIVES AGAIN!! Alex Kidd in M*ri0 W0rld is a hack series of Alex Kidd in Miracle World that recreates the 8 worlds of the big N's classic, for Alex to rampage through. With our star Goomba stomper gone, who will revolt against the Koopa regime, free the Mushroom Kingdom denizens from their chains, and bring equality and economic justice, and smash Bowser once and for all? Certainly not that plumber.
Known bugs/hopes for future: * Learn how to properly redraw enemies, even add extra tiles. Boulders become Goombas, Scorpions become Koopa Troopas, Frogs become Pirahna Plants, and those fish become Cheep Cheeps, and the big bad fish become Bloopers. * Find a way to make it so all levels can have the max 3 additional tilesets, since most levels seem to have a predetermined amount. * Find out how to make sprites stop misaligning.Sonic Project Aspect: Peridot Palms: TILESET WORKING AND COMPLETE!!BluestreakedLady2017-02-23 | FINALLY!! THE TILESET AND MAPPINGS ARE WORKING!! This is Sonic: Project Aspect's first Round, Peridot Palms. It's a mix of Botanic Base, Isolated Island, and Palmtree Panic.
Each Zone of each Round represents a different time period. Zone 1 of each Round is the present. Zone 2 of each Round is the past. Zone 3 of each Round is the future. By using different palettes and skillfully using the tiles (WITHOUT ADDING EXTRAS AND OVERLOADING THE VRAM), I can achieve this.
In Round 5 (Sacred Shrine), there are no time periods, for time there flows freely.
In Round 7 (secret), Zone 1 is the bad future, Zone 2 is the past, and Zone 3 is in a dark void, with a final fight against Mecha Sonic.
In the final version of the game, I hope to have a "Second Quest" (A set of 3 levels which can only be accessed via Level Select), and bosses with new AI and moves.
I am gonna need someone who can program bosses for all that. Until then, it is just gonna be reskinned bosses from the original game.Sonic Panic (formerly Sonic 4): Panic Hill themeBluestreakedLady2017-01-18 | Before SEGA's own Sonic 4, all the way back in 2007, there was a neat fan game made by Spikes, AKA Kyle Cruzan, also called Sonic 4. Am I looking at Knuckles Chaotix on my Master System?!? No, this is an amazing hack of Sonic 2 SMS by MrCat, called Sonic 2 ReMastered. Showing 3 Zones off, this hack shows off some of the best graphics on the SMS for the first Zone. Neon Streak and Dream Gate aren't bad looking either, especially Dream Gate Act 2. Each level has its own palette, and some acts like Seaside Hill Act 3 have some genius tile manipulation. The Sonic sprite is a bit odd looking (being a more colourful/reshaded Sonic 1/2 SMS sprite). This is one reason I believe they desperately need to get rid of the time limit for this hack. Most players are not gonna beat these levels in under 10 minutes, especially Sunset Vista, Radon Ravine, and this too.
Still can't wait for the finished product. Hope to GAWD it retains Game Save, and works on real hardware.Super Mario Bros. Special (NES Longplay)BluestreakedLady2016-10-11 | Originally a licensed game by Hudson for the Sharp X-1 and NEC PC-8801 computers, Super Mario Bros. Special was unleashed onto Japan a few months before Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels. The game had some neat level designs, new enemies, including barrels, Sidestepper crabs, and Fighter Flies, plus new items, like the Wing, which was the first Mario item used for flight, the hammer, for destroying barrel enemies, the Hachibuse Bee (8000 pts.), and Lucky Star (acted as a smart bomb).
Sadly, with the neat level design, and more additions than Nintendo's own Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels, the game was rather problematic, due to lack of scrolling, and odd physics.
Fast foward almost 20 years later, fans have ported the obscure game to NES, by hacking the levels and art of the original SMB. While it lacks the new items and enemies, it's still a solid game, and dare I say the new levels, being more creative and varied, make it a better game than the original Super Mario Bros.NES Play: Magic JewelryBluestreakedLady2016-10-09 | How long can Bluestreak last in Hwang Shinwei and RCM's better-than-the-legit-version Columns clone?

Also, until the update of KiddEd, this will be the last video for a while. Stage 07, which was originally Mt. Kave, does not allow any additional tilesets at all, which is incredibly problematic. Hopefully the update will allow you to add additional tilesets in levels that either do not allow them, or only allow one. At that point, you can see more progress on this hack.Alex Kidd in Mario World: The Water Level (with link to demo)BluestreakedLady2016-09-24 | dropbox.com/home?preview=Alex+Kidd+in+Mario+World+DEMO.zip
Alex Kidd takes a dive in the underwater stage of Super Mario Bros. Alex must dodge the Killer Fish and regular fish to make his way through. The demo does not contain this level, but DOES include remakes of World 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, and 1-4, with the current versions of these four stages not seen anywhere on Youtube!
Be sure to read the ReadMe for some tips and questions answered.Alex Kidd in Mario World: Update 9/23/2016: Stage 2BluestreakedLady2016-09-24 | The project has been REBOOTED, and early at that. This time, I intend to use Level 02's main metatileset in almost every level, and the same additional tilesets as well, since Mario doesn't really use a whole lot of different blocks and things. Not seen are the trees and hills and clouds, background objects we know and love. Levels based on World X-3 will use a heavily modified Forest Stage tileset, with not only the usual tiles, but the grounds, big shrooms, hard blocks, floating platforms, (faux) pullies, castles and all in one tileset, instead of an additional tileset like most stages. Castles and water stages will have their own tilesets too, so that will be nice.
I still need a good musician to recompose the water, castle, regular stage win, game over, and game win themes for me, if interested.Alex Kidd in Mario World: Development begins.BluestreakedLady2016-09-23 | Nobody else has done this to my knowledge, so... Let's do it!
Alex Kidd in Mario World features a selection of levels from the original Super Mario Bros, with their designs as close to the original games as possible.
Sadly, the game is a little buggy in its beginning stages, and you can see that replacing the fireballs with Spiny was a TERRIBLE idea!
I will need help with some things, such as...
* Adding tiles and blocks to the game, with these tiles and blocks being universal to every level. * How to slow down the vines that are now Piranha Plants, so that they go up and down more slowly, and stay at their highest and lowest points about the same amount of time they did in Super Mario Bros. * Making sure the graphics and objects do not become buggy when respawning after a lost life, or pausing the game. * Adding tiles and frames to, or changing enemy animations (and making it so all types of enemies can appear in ANY level).Pac-Man 2: Pac-Jr. All CutscenesBluestreakedLady2016-08-11 | Cutscenes from Pac-Jr., an unlockable game on Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures for SEGA Genesis. Not to be confused with Bally-Midway's unauthorized 1984 arcade game "Jr. Pac-Man" (that also has ports on Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Atari 8-bit computers, MS-DOS, and Commodore 64), this is a graphical and level hack of Ms. Pac-Man, exclusive to the Genesis version of Pac-Man 2.
This was made because a Genesis version of Ms. Pac-Man was already released prior to Pac-Man 2, and Namco did not own the rights to Jr. Pac-Man at the time.
Nobody has seemed to post the cutscenes from the game yet on Youtube, and many people (even me) lack the skill to see them all without cheating, so I decided to do so.

This features Gabriel Pyron's colour hack bringing the visuals closer to the SNES and PC versions. I remember this glitch from my childhood too! If you hold right when going over the giraffe's head, and before you touch the ostrich, quickly hit left, you will land behind him, thus be able to run with it! The ostrich segment is infamous for being horribly glitchy, and other outcomes are possible when getting hit, including:

Looking through the Sound Test of Sonic 3 Complete (the hack), there were multiple unused Sonic CD sound effects within the game. These include:
Sonic CD jump Sonic CD score tally Sonic CD spin dash (does get used) Sonic CD drown timer Sonic CD get Time Stone/Badnik Generator destroyed.
I tried using Sonic 1 sprites, and controls in Sonic CD 1993 mode to see if they would be put to use, but no luck.
Seems that there may have been an option to use Sonic CD sound effects in this hack, or that there may be a later mode to do so.
Perhaps a more Sonic CD sprite set (with its wobbling animations, skid animations, platform spinning animations for certain spinning platforms, and even special stage sprites) may come later on.
Just a theory though.Sonic: Project Aspect UPDATE: Lapis Lake graphics WIP, and new Sonic spriteset completeBluestreakedLady2016-07-08 | Didn't expect a Round that WASN'T green, did you? Here, you can see Sonic's new sprite set in action, which is an edited version of MoDule and Polygon Jim's sprite set for Sonic 2 LD, made to have better proportions, and have shading (and some frames) be more akin to Sonic CD. You can see a further changed HUD, less tile issues, and Zone 2 looking similar to the BETA screenshot from the back of the North American Sonic 2 Game Gear bundle box. When I learn how (or am taught how) to mess with mappings in Aspect Edit without corrupting data, this Zone will begin to look VERY different from what it does now.
Also, you may see some new Item box sprites too.Sonic: Project Aspect: New boss graphics test: Metal Knuckles WIP (has glitches)BluestreakedLady2016-06-15 | For Gimmick Mountain, which will become the Emperor Egg, I decided to have the rarely seen Metal Knuckles as its boss, due to the fact he would fit the Mecha Razorback's charging and headstrong behaviour well. Sadly, I may need to redo the mappings of the sprites a bit, to get his knocked down poses to look correctly.Sonic: Project Aspect: Peridot Palms WIPBluestreakedLady2016-06-13 | Peridot Palms has been restarted from scratch, with new grass graphics based on Sonic the Hedgehog 4's Splash Hill, trees based on Palmtree Panic from Sonic CD, and a new rock object. A new Badnik, named Stinkbug (AKA Kamemusi) from Sonic CD is here. He doesn't shoot projectiles, but he can speed himself up.
Also, redrawn ring graphics from Sonic 2 LD, further adjusted HUD and updated Sonic sprites and monitors, and new springs, with mushrooms acting as vertical springs, and diagonal springs based on the ones from Sonic CD. The ground is the main thing needing to be graphically changed, and when I learn how to change mappings, it will look like a heavier shaded, more detailed version of Bridge Zone's ground. The final layout for Act 1 will resemble the layout I used for an earlier version of this Zone.Sonic: Project Aspect: Sapphire Skies: Palette, objects, and snow finished.BluestreakedLady2016-06-02 | Sapphire Skies is going to be the 3rd Round of Sonic: Project Aspect. When finished, it will look radically different from the Green Hills clone it once was, with new shiny, icelike ground that takes advantage of the Master System's palette. Of course, I will not be able to change the ground until I get good with changing tile mappings. Once more, layouts of levels shall not be changed until all graphics are changed. This will be the FINAL task before release.
And yes, I got the Emerald this time.
Changed: H-springs and D-springs now have snow on them Bridge segments have snow on them Grass changed to snow Palettes obviously Vines in Act 3 are now candy canes Spikes are now icicles
To do: Change trees to snowy pines Change the ground (will need to learn how to play with tile mappings) Change music (thinking of White Symphony from Ristar for Game Gear) Change layout (FINAL TASK for this Round)Sonic Aspect Project: Hidden Palace graphics complete!BluestreakedLady2016-05-28 | Sonic Aspect Project's graphics for Hidden Palace have been completed. Sorry about the screen issues. KEGA Fusion's Lossless codec can be a real pain. Main changes are the horizontal springs (H-Springs) and vertical springs (V-Springs) are made into gems, similar to the breakable gems in the original Hidden Palace on Genesis. The floor has been changed to better resemble the original Hidden Palace. Also, Metal Sonic makes an appearance instead of the Silver Sonic. When the graphics are changed for all of the levels, I will begin to change their layouts. So, I played with Aqua Lake Zones mappings, aaaaaaaand...BluestreakedLady2016-05-22 | If you remember the earlier Lapis Lake video, I showed off some new graphics, including doric columns, FIJI water bottles, and a weird looking palm tree. Sadly, when messing with the mappings, so that the new palm trees would not "reflect" and look like two palm trees stuck together, I messed with the mappings, but somehow, everything went kablooey. Any help?
