I provided the input for the beginning of the run and helped optimize the final parts but all credit undeniably goes to those two for finding all of this.

The run was made by me, but the arbitrary code execution was developed and executed by amaurea and total who are listed as co authors.

The overall time for the run is a couple of seconds higher than the old run partly because this one aims primarily for ingame time whereas the last one was optimized for realtime, but also because a new, more accurate, emulator was used which causes a lot more lag.

- Aims for Fastest Time - Uses Death as a Shortcut - Played on Hardest DifficultySNES - Contra 3 : Alien Wars TAS In 03:20Cpadolf02009-06-05 | This is an improvement of 3 seconds over my previously uploaded Contra 3 run, this comes mostly from more precise movement in the overhead stages and better weapon usage on the bosses.
The glitch used is that if you die with 0 extra life left, and manage to gain an extra life after dying (here achieved by using bombs to gain points after death) you instantly finish the level. This works for all levels except for the overhead ones, luckily they are also the shortest (so short in fact, that it might even had taken more time to gather up enough points for another 2 extra lives than it would save to use in those levels, even if it did work).

This is a glitched up run of Contra for the Super Nintendo (note that I myself didn't discover the glitch), it is completed in less than 3 and a half minute. The glitch works so that if you die with 0 extra lives left and during the fadeout manage to get a extra life, you complete the level instantly! The glitch can't be preformed in stage 2 and 5 which are completed fully (thankfully the two shortest stages in the game). You gain an extra life when you reach a certain amount of points so the method used to gain a extra life while being dead is to use a bomb. Why does the glitch work? This is only a guess but I think that the level complete fadeout and game over fadeout probably are the same function, and during it the game just checks if you have any extra lives left to decide which one to go to.

This is a run I recently made out of Acherons hack Hangtime, which is heavily Grapple Beam centered. The making of the run was greatly helped by the newly discovered morph/depmorph gilitch while grapple jumping (discovered by Japanese player gstick).
