THE HARDEST VIDEO GAME BOSS EVER!Mike T2026-09-21 | THE HARDEST VIDEO GAME BOSS EVER!Kessen not so last stand W5uberwolf4202012-12-07 | West side story part 5
This level is a direct fallow up to the last battle. Changes made to troop type, do not carry over into the next level. Tokugawa is supposed to be fleeing but decides to make a final stand instead, which by kessen standards is the same thing. Win or lose, the game will go on. I think if I lost, Ukita would have died, but he always has such a big army, I like him. Yi from the other side, dies no matter what. His son might be in the next level in his place. I think he was in E6/E7 of the east side story.
There may be a way to get the boss without beating the other armies first, but everything went so smoothly in this playthrough that I decided to upload it.Kessen cursed apple W4uberwolf4202012-12-03 | West side story part 4
In this alternate timeline, Kuroda never really commits to either side. Technically he is with the east, but he can change to the west at any point, very early in this video. I don't think he is in any of the future battles. If I lost in this battle, Ishida would die, and Yuki Sanada would take over the army. The elder Sanada dies no matter what. This is a large map, with lots of armies bunched together on it. There is no way to rush the boss in this battle. The more aggression you show, the more defensive the enemy gets. The best shortcut is to keep 4 or 5 of the enemies armies out of the main battle, on the other side of the river or down south. Still have to fight through most of the rest of them, which will use up most of the special attacks. It really helps to save a few good specials to finish off the boss with. The boss will lose troops fast while surrounded, but when his numbers get low, he will only fight one versus one, which cannot count as a surround.
Just when everything seems to be going right. Everything that mattered was going my way. Except I did so well, that the southern bridge crossing never took place. They retreated back to the north bridge, just in time to screw with me, both defeating one of my armies and adding 5 minutes to the play time. I'm so sick of the level I'm just going to move on. This is the best attempt you will get out of me.Kessen the escape W3uberwolf4202012-11-23 | West side story part 3
Sort of similar to the east sides level 3. 5 versus 5, and one side is trying to flee the battlefield. The map and strategy have changed alittle though. If Tokugawa tries to go for the older Sanada's exit, you are in luck, as when he tries to retreat, he will get stuck in that small triangle of land between the rivers and the edge of the map. If you are even luckier he will never retreat. If you are unlucky he will go for Yuki Sanada's exit, and there is no cornering him. You can block him from escaping the map, but it takes forever to chase him down. The other 4 armies aren't any easier to pin down.
I uploaded the raw video file, though there is one bug I can see in it. During the cutscenes at the start, when you first see Yuki Sanada and his father. The older Sanada is supposed to speak first by laughing and saying: They've dared to come!, Sometimes the start of the cutscene doesn't load properly, it's the games fault, not the recorder.Kessen change history W2uberwolf4202012-11-17 | West side story part 2
Well I got it down to 45 minutes counting cutscenes. Not that it went perfect. I think for the first time in all the videos, one of my armies goes down....though it was one of the traitors. I'm not going to bother editing, I will just upload the raw record file.
Historically, the west is supposed to lose this battle, that is why it is so rigged. It can be beaten without the help of the traitors, but it helps if you give them one prebattle order to fallow, in this case to go after the leader. It is mostly diversionary.Kessen switching sides W1uberwolf4202012-11-10 | West side story part 1 Prepare to be confused. Blue is now bad. Red is now good. Old friends are now foes, and the villain is now the hero.
Level 1 should look familiar. The strategy changes a little and there is a new cutscene before and after the level. The enemies will often flee at the last moment, preventing you from defeating them for an army zeal bonus. So I say screw em and go for the leader. Quick level, I don't think I used the same special twice.
Level 2 is going to be tough. The level really is intended to be lost, and nearly half the armies under my command refuse to fallow orders and may defect. Something to do with being historically accurate. Even rearranging all the armies and giving them each one prebattle order to fallow, doesn't do much to speed things up. I hope to keep part 2 under an hour.Kessen final battle E7uberwolf4202012-11-02 | East side story part 7
Since this is the final level I'm going to let the video run allittle long so I can defeat more enemies. The boss can easily be rushed with a couple special attacks though. The good ending starts at 37 minutes. The bad ending starts at 40 minutes.
After this I intend to do the West sides victory campaign which fallows a different storyline. It portrays the east as being the villains all along.Kessen 10,000 ninjas E6uberwolf4202012-10-30 | East side story part 6
If you win this level, it is the end of the game. If you lose this level, it will reward you with a 7th level. I will fill in more info here later.Kessen do it for todo E5uberwolf4202012-10-29 | East side story part 5
The idea in this level is to hold out until 3 or 4 allies come to reinforce you. This playthrough was a rush experiment, half way in, I thought was a failure. But than I won the duel and could do an extra round of specials.
Technically you don't have to win this level. I added a clip at the end to show what happens if you lose. I recommend winning though, because Todo has a cannon army, and those are in short supply in the next level.Kessen boobie trap E4uberwolf4202012-10-27 | East side story part 4
Sexy ninjas.....no, seriously!
Also I can alter troops/formation now, and make my own battle plans. I will edit must of that stuff out though. My idea there is to make each army be 100% of whichever unit works best for the best specials that officer has. Formations are again to go along with the best special attacks.
This is supposed to be a big long level, but I cheesed it. Almost a straight cannon rush. Though I got lucky at the end. There might have been a bug, because the boss still had a fair amount of troops left when the battle ended. I only would have needed a couple more minutes to get a special attack in range to finish him off anyways.
I added one of the optional cutscenes to the end of the clip.kessen free pass E3uberwolf4202012-10-23 | East side story part 3
This battle is a short fallow up to the bigger battle in part 2. It doesn't really matter whether you win or lose the battle. You could just give your enemies a free pass and let them march past you without a fight. Ishida will die either way. I included the losing cutscene at the end of the video. The only difference I noticed was that if you do win, than Shima dies too. But even if you do kill him, another charter with a similar name just takes his place in the next battle.
If you do want to win you have to let Fukushima do most of the heavy fighting, and try to take out the small enemies first with the barrage attacks. All your units get more special attack zeal for each fallen enemy. Choso should be saved for last if at all. Usually I like to use cannons more, but they do not work very well against small enemies.Kessen the game begins E2uberwolf4202012-10-21 | East side story part 2
This is when the game really starts, though I guess it is still in tutorial phase. It will not let me alter the battle plans, or the type of troops and formations the officers use. Though I think it is set up to support the storyline, so that is good for the first playthrough. Interestingly enough you can actually lose this level and continue the game, but on a different story path.
Ideally you would want to destroy every single enemy army, as you will get more bonus special attacks awarded at the end of the level. But I'm not going to do that. At the start of the battle, I only moved the officers that were not already pre planned to attack the enemies. Some are more willing to take orders than others. Lucky none outright refused an order. I set out for speed and cut off the enemies commander from any reinforcements. Once the leader goes down, it is over. I was lucky and things went even better than planned. This video is 38 minutes including all cutscenes, without speeding up the video or going edit crazy. There are a few special optional cutscenes that I missed. I'm not sure if I will take the time to track them all down or not, there are probably others I don't even know how to trigger.Kessen a game of hats E1uberwolf4202012-10-17 | East Side Story Part 1 What can I say about Kessen. This game was released back in the year 2000, and was one of the launch titles for the Playstation 2. At a glance the characters may make Kessen resemble a Dynasty Warriors game, and they were both made by KOEI, but the game mechanics are far different. Kessen is much more focused on strategy, I could almost imagine this being playable as a board game. Except if it were a board game, we would miss out on all this amazing CGI work. And did I mention the hats? I would love a Tokugawa hat for Halloween.
I'm finally figuring out the setting for my recorder and editor. HD should be working now, and the audio should be in sync. I have the option of making the videos full wide screen, but all that does is stretch the image and make everything fat. Nobody warned me about how much time it takes to record/edit/upload.. It is easy for me to see why most people limit themselves to one or two videos a day.
This is me playing. What made me pick this game? I'v been searching youtube and I cannot find a full game plathrough of this game. Lots of Kessen 2 and 3, but somehow youtube is missing out on the original. Bum Bum...................Bum. I may just have to put a clip of that music into every video from now on.Mafia the game Freeride Extremeuberwolf4202007-09-23 | I only have time for this one vid on the freeride extreme. The best spot to get him is on the bridge, when he starts zig zagging it's really easy to catch up to him. Chapter 20-6: Death of Art. The Grand Finaly. Sam is going to be armed with a tommy gun and he is not shy about using it. I find the best trick for fighting him. Is to start shooting the wall before you even step out of cover, so your gun dosnt have to warm up while your exposed. Same trick for when he retreats down the hallway, start shooting before you can even see him. After the fight is over, some final words between you and Sam. Chapter 20-5: Death of Art. This short cutscene will play when you go up the stairs. There are lots of enemies with tommy guns and shot guns during this part, conserve your life the best you can. You must clear out the rooms to the right, before Sam will run upstairs to the top floor. There will be a health box at the last stairs, but don't rush up to it right away, somone will toss a grenade at you. Sam is now cornered on the top floor, head up there to fight him. Chapter 20-4: Death of Art. I strongly recommend visiting yellow peet before doing this. I have tried without the extra guns, and you have to play so flawlessly it's near impossible. As soon as you enter the building this cutscene will begin. There are just those two guys to start with, oddly enough shooting that guy in the face didn't kill him. This part isnt that hard actually. I could do it without the extra guns, but then I would get owned in part 83 every time. Created by UberWolf420.Mafia the game walkthrough(81)uberwolf4202007-09-22 | -Final Chapter-
Chapter 20-3: Death of Art. Yellow peet dosnt seem to know anything either. It's a good idea to stock up on guns here. Otherwise your only going to have one gun and six bullets for the final part. Return to Lucas and get the info on your new char. It's a good idea to have some extra weapons when you go pick it up, cause of those dam gaurd dogs. Finaly head to the art gallery to meet Sam.
