Sim Racing Like Its 1996! | Rebuilding a Thrustmaster T2 Chris Haye 2021-08-03 | Sim Racing in the 90s was, well, a little different. This Thrustmaster T2 wheel, sans force feedback* was my entry point to the hobby back in 1996, and in today's video, I track down and restore one of those wheels to it's former glory, as my contribution to the retro gaming cannon. As far as sim racing wheels go, the Thrustmaster T2 was actually ahead of it's time. Long before Force feedback, they implemented a crude, but well, crude wheel self centring system ,which was uncommon on racing sim gear at the time. Tracking down and rebuilding a Thrustmaster T2 has been a bucket list item for me for a long time, not least of all because of how much time I spend watching retro gaming content on youtube. A Sim Racing Time Machine | Bremgarten For Assetto Corsa Chris Haye 2021-07-06 | Bremgarten: racedepartment.com/downloads/bremgarten-1950s.43576New Assetto Corsa mod time, and Bermgarten is another stunning classic circuit produced by Fat Alfie. The Bremgarten circuit was located to the North of Bern, though expansion of the city has rather made that distinction somewhat needless. At just over 7Km long, it's actually fairly sensible by the standards of the day, and thus makes for a decent playground in a racing sim. The parkland location provides a stunning backdrop for this road course, which as you can see from the images features plenty of that all-important elevation change. And, as a side order to the hilly bits, we're also treated to narrow tarmac, at least where this is any tarmac, and a seemingly limitless number of trees lining the route, as was the style at the time. There really are only two notable stopping points on the circuit, with the rest being made up of fast, and very fast corners. And, since they aren't the completely finalised retail-spec models, there are a couple of caveats before we get into it. First of all, this sample of the CSL DD wheelbase doesn't have the production-specification quick release assembly, so Fanatec have asked that I only use the wheel rim that has been provided. So with that in mind, I won't be covering the quick release at all, since there's nothing useful I can say beyond the fact that the CSL DD will have one! The final caveat, and this is important - this video shouldn't be viewed as a review - it's an early access look at some cool tech that's coming out soon.

Which Sim Racing Wheel Is Right For You: GT Edition Chris Haye 2021-03-29 | With me in the studio I have 7 GT wheels, and I've owned a few more for good measure. So, I'm going to do my best to talk through the important points, and the pros and cons of each of these types of wheel, similar wheels, and hopefully we'll all come out the other side having learned something in addition to having aged by around 8 minutes. Now, this isn't a "what am bestest wheel" video, more an overview of what you should probably look for.
