Jacks Throwback Attack 2024-10-02 | Rosie and Jim was a popular children's TV show in the 1990s and one of my favourites to watch when I was a kid. Growing up near to where several of the early episodes were filmed was always something of a fascination to me and something I still take great pride in. In this video, which has taken me over a year to finish, I visit a handful of the filming locations used in Rosie and Jim. Focusing on Series 1 and 2 which was hosted by John Cunliffe.

Rosie and Jim was produced by Ragdoll Productions and is owned by Wildbrain.

Jacks Throwback Attack 2024-07-11 | Part 1 of 3 of a compilation of TV adverts recorded off good old VHS, I am focusing on ads from 1998-2003. Why? Because I'm not exclusively a 90s or a 00s kid, my childhood spans the two and this particular set of years brings back a lot of nostalgia to me and hopefully anyone else who grew up in that period.

The End of CITV - My Top 10 Shows

Jacks Throwback Attack 2023-08-21 | September 2023 marks the end of the CITV brand. In this video I talk about some of the CITV shows that were big favourites of mine when I was growing up and what has made a lasting impression. This video focuses on the mid 90's-mid 00's as that was my era of watching kids TV.

A special CITV message! (25 years of the Gas Street era)

Jacks Throwback Attack 2023-05-26 | In 1998, CITV underwent a huge relaunch after 15 years on air, where after a number of years of the links between the programmes being voiceover only, a brand new in-vision presence was introduced with two new presenters by the names of Danielle Nicholls and Stephen Mulhern presenting live from Central Television's then new base at Gas Street in Birmingham (the building still stands today, albeit only partially used by ITV for local news with the rest being rented out by other businesses). This began a new golden era for CITV where it certainly gave CBBC a run for it's money for a while! Many top names and celebrities appeared in the studio each week too...including Britney Spears!

CITV would continue broadcasting live from Birmingham until 2004 when production moved out of Birmingham and it went back to voiceover only. Recently it was announced after 40 years the Children's ITV/CITV strand would be scrapped and replaced by ITVX kids and moved to mostly streaming only.

This video is to mark that special relaunch and what was my era of CITV. Enjoy this special message!

Jacks Throwback Attack Podcast - A Chat With Steve Ryde

Jacks Throwback Attack 2022-09-18 | The podcast is taking a break until 2023. However, I am releasing a one off special with Steve Ryde which I recorded earlier this year. Steve has an amazing CV when it comes to his work in children's television. Steve started out acting in the likes of 'Your Mother Wouldn't Like It' and 'Palace Hill' in the 1980's. Between 1993-1998 Steve was the voice of the continuity links on CITV and often appeared in many of the promos too. From May 1998 Steve moved to producing CITV when it returned to in-vision pres continuity and was responsible for choosing Stephen Mulhern and Danielle Nicholls to be the new faces of the relaunch. During his CITV days he also acted in Wizadora as Tatty Bogle. Following a move to CBBC in the early 2000's he devised Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow and his voice talents were heard frequently during games of 'Bogies' as the 'Bogey-O-Meter'. His other CBBC credits include devising the likes of The Slammer, Chute, The Legend of Dick and Dom and Crackerjack.

A tribute to The Media Merchants

Jacks Throwback Attack 2021-02-06 | This video is a tribute to 'The Media Merchants'. An independent TV production company founded by Tim Edmunds and Neil Buchanan which produced many iconic children's TV shows of the 90's and 00's. All filmed at The Maidstone Studios in Kent. The company was launched in 1992 and closed down in 2007.

Through this video you'll see many clips and pictures highlighting those great shows and the people who made them possible.

Rebecca is best known for being the voice and hands behind Rosie in Rosie and Jim for 10 years. She's also worked on the likes of Bug Alert!, Live and Kicking, Wizadora and The Hoobs. She also was Barnaby Bear in the series of popular BBC education programmes.
