Ardnahoe joined smoky legends like Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg in 2018. Backed by the Laing family they promised tradition, peat smoke, and quality spirit.

So in this video, I explore Ardnahoe’s journey from its first cask, to its inaugural release in 2024, and a full review of the Aqvavitae Ardnahoe, a Small Batch 6 Year Old. At 55% ABV, non-chill filtered and full of bourbon-cask character.

A review of this latest Ardnahoe covering the nose, palate, and score. Comparing it with Islay icons like Laphroaig Cask Strength and Talisker Special releases and has got me asking is Ardnahoe the future of Islay whisky and the best new distillery? End of an Era for Lochlea?

Jeff Whisky 2025-08-19 | Breaking Whisky News - Lochlea have launched a full new line up!

Lochlea has announced the launch of its new "Single Estate" core range of single malts — a permanent collection designed to highlight the distillery’s focus on quality, provenance, and character. Each whisky in the range is produced from Lochlea’s own barley and is distilled and matured entirely on-site in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Replacing the seasonal releases, the new core range is intended to provide a consistent and distinctive release throughout the year. This addition will sit alongside Our Barley, giving Lochlea a core range of four single malts.

The whiskies will be available from Thursday, 4 September 2025.

Non-chill filtered, natural colour, and bottled at 46%, Springbank 10 offers a bold, funky, coastal dram that feels crafted and full of heritage. But with prices creeping up and availability vanishing into a haze of auctions and flipping, the question has to be asked: is Springbank 10 still worth the hype?

So Highland Park have been teasing and announced their rebrand today after a few folks have seen them already on shelves and reddit and it certainly was not what I was expecting!
