Gitaroo Man Reverse Engineering - Major update sonicfind 2021-10-11 | After a pretty extensive refactor of my whole project and some recent understandings in how more of the .SSQ filetype is structure - and their functions - we're starting to get pretty darn good results. There is still more to be done and more to figure out - more accurate shading, proper light direction, and using per-pixel linked lists for alpha blending - but I'm hella happy with the progress made so far.Updates since last video:+ Proper texture animations - facial movements and U-1's sword & wings+ Working sprites - including both players' charge orbs+ Attack and guard streams actually flowing between players+ More accurate animation ordering along the stage timeline+ (unseen) Functioning player model game state polling for animations (despite no game state to poll from). It's why U-1 is stationary for the majority of the stage. That IS his neutral stance+ Improved material shading (more noticeable in stage 1)+ Better performance overall from the refactoring (keep in mind I'm on 8th i5 UHD graphics for this)Note 1: The music was added post recording.Note 2: the flickering of the stream & guard effects is because of the manual toggle I have in place to make them appear. I had a sneaking suspicion that it handled model sizing in the middle of a stage. Turns out I was right.This Miranda model was the only clearly-on-screen model that even used these structs on this stage.
