Epic Rivian Off-Road Adventure in Joshua Tree! sherwinm 2025-02-24 | Join me on an awesome day trip to Joshua Tree with the Rivian Club San Gabriel Valley! I was stoked to find FREE charging at the Rivian Adventure Network in San Bernardino - apparently it's free due to the Southern California fires, so a huge shoutout to Rivian for that!I charged up and then met up with a massive group of Rivian - seriously, like 22 or 23 of us! It was a mix of R1Ts and R1Ss, Gen 1s and Gen 2s, all ready for some off-roading. We hit the Geology Tour Road in Joshua Tree, switched to all-terrain mode, and had an absolute blast tackling the fire roads. I even brought my Starlink to test out the internet in the no-signal zone – gotta stay connected!Lunch was a delicious bed-of-the-truck spam and rice meal (you know how I do!), and the whole day was just incredible. Unfortunately, I had to head back before the stargazing, but I soaked up every minute of this Rivian club adventure. TLYard Running Boards Install on Cybertruck - Sleek & Easy Upgrade! sherwinm 2025-02-20 | I'm excited to be installing these running boards from TLYard on my Cybertruck. I was impressed right away that the box was labeled with "R" and "L" for right and left sides – that's a nice touch! Inside, everything was neatly packed, including all the nuts and bolts. Abby has been on my case about getting these installed, and even though the weather hasn't been great lately, I couldn't wait any longer to check them out. The cool thing is the brackets are universal for both sides, and they include all the tools you need, though I ended up using my own tools. This wasn't my first rodeo with running boards, so I knew to raise the ride height first. I even found some cardboard to lie on so I wouldn't get too dirty crawling under the Cybertruck for the first time! The install was actually pretty straightforward - lining up the brackets and bolting everything in place. There are five brackets per side, and the running boards themselves are also marked "R" and "L." I really like how adjustable they are, you can decide how far out you want them to stick out. Tightening everything up was simple, and overall, this install was way easier than the ones I did on my Rivian – no panels to remove!I made sure the lift points weren't blocked, and they're perfectly accessible. After getting them on, I took the Cybertruck out for a drive, and I immediately noticed I don't need to use entry mode anymore thanks to these steps. The spacing is a little different than my Rivian running boards, a bit closer together, but it's a minor adjustment.Overall, I'm really happy with the look and ease of installation.
