Vermont Rainbow 2016 Shining Light Kitchen LucidLorax 2016-07-30 | Vermont rainbow gathering 2016. This video shows Shining Light Kitchen seen logistically as an aid organization, but also as a sensational experience and a nomadic community. Shining Light Kitchen made 120 gallons of food for dinner on the main evenings before the fourth. Two of the four carts are made to hold two 15 gallon pots each, and the other two are made to hold each 30 gallon pot. The end pieces come off with wingnuts to allow the pots to slide off the fire onto them, then can be resecured with brackets. Shining Light set up nine tipis to accompany the kitchen, including a shower tipi, three workshop tipis, a reading room, free space for sleeping, and a supply tipi. During cleanup, shining light moved all the gear a mile to the parking lot in one day, and all the tipis in the following two days, followed by two days of packing and final cleanup. On the rainy day we made 36 dozen deviled eggs as an appetizer to dinner.Shining Light Kitchen is on its way to the Baton Rouge flood to help feed people. TRAVEL: Across Central America by Bus LucidLorax 2015-12-02 | The following story is fictional because it would be illegal if it was true: a kid (didnt) come up to me in the hallway leading to customs at the Mexican border and say in Spanish as i was holding Dormilona: "hey, dude, theyre gonna take your plant at customs. But if you give it to me ill walk it around the border and give it back to you". So i (didnt) give him Dormilona, and after i got through customs he (wasnt) waiting for me! Then i (didnt) give him US$15 for his trouble!This is a video of a three day, 950 mile bus ride from Estelí Nicaragua to Mexico City.The video captures the sights that can be seen from the bus including more than a dozen volcanoes, two of which were erupting.The first bus ticket cost US$120 to the Mexican side of the border. It had one stop for the night at a hotel in San Salvador, El Salvador. The hotel cost US$32. The second bus from the Mexican side of the border to Mexico City cost another US$100 and drove through the night until evening the next day. The busses were as comfortable as an airplane. We were stopped at each border and checked for passports, but between the Mexico border and Mexico City we were stopped another maybe ten times at various checkpoints so our passports could be checked again and again. The refugees who flee gang war and violence in countless numbers to seek refuge in the USA are put through incredible hardship and every effort is being made to return them to the violence and oppression they were fleeing. The fact that tens of thousands still reach the USA after all the measures put in place to stop them is testament to the tremendous number of people who attempt the journey, and the strength of their desire for safety and freedom. There are officially no refugees in Central America. If we call them migrants then they can be returned to situations that can often be fatal. The Reason For Optimism LucidLorax 2014-10-06 | The reason to be optimistic about the future condition of the world is the incredible rate of increase of our awareness. The mechanism of global civilization grows like a rampant bacterial colony, consuming nature, turning the ecosystem into itself. But the awareness of humans grows faster then the synthetic organism of global civilization. There have always been organizations of war, but just recently, millions of humans all over the world are coming together, motivated by the desire to be as beneficial as possible, and theyre dramatically modifying the actions of global civilization in such a way that it is beginning to shift from being a parasitic organism to being the greatest possible tool of symbiosis and stewardship. The transition with take a couple hundred more years to complete. All hands on deck. Take care of the sentient beings and the delicate organisms. Cultivate the desire to be beneficial and teach it to others. Our awareness is now growing faster than our civilization, and unlike mechanisms and structures, awareness has almost no limit. That is why i am optimistic.
