AM2R Demo 1.41 - Skipping Tester and getting Plasma beam
updated
Now what happens if I die after respawning? The game seems to be in a state of being both in the level and in the overworld and since I died, I can't move whatsoever, not even the menus so I'm forced to close the game.
I think this could be faster if we get the boots and then the phantom pudding but the boots are bugged in that mode it gives us the winged donut instead.
Probably the hardest thing that I have ever done so far, I had to practically remake all the strats in the game in order to as fast as possible but always having consistency as the priority.
At first I thought that this would be impossible due to how "randomly" the malice spike would appear but turns out that it spawns depending on how much time I spent on the ground.
Slowly but surely, I was reaching the library levels more often until today where I finally break through and reached the last boss fight for the first and last time.
Not sure but it might be faster than simply bomb jumping up.
Looks like bombs help Samus to grab the tile to clip because the input to unmorph is already there by the time the bomb boosts her up so she unmorphs in an unnatural position.
It's possible to do the same thing except bombs in the EMP room in A3 but the area is already oob.
Now we can move on from this category lol
Here's Abyss' detailed route:
Save on first save, head to A1, get Bomb room items, Etank on the middle, kill Alpha, reload.
Kill first alpha, reload, head to A2, kill entrance alpha, grab both missiles, kill Arachnus, kill top left alpha, kill deep a2 alpha, get Wave Beam and loot High Jump room, take pipe to A4.
Save on Tower, get vanilla PB, detonate Geo & reload. Get PB outside geo and open door for opening Tester, get post explosion items, reload. Turn on Tower, Exit&Load, grab missile along the way and get Tower items (Plasma, Super), kill Tower Zeta, Kill Top Gamma, get top A4 Items, reload, pipe to A2, clean up rest of A2 + BG2, reload (No saving on A2), pipe to A5.
Get Gravity & 2 other checks, reload after PB, Pipe to A5 again, kill EMP Zeta, kill Alpha Squad, get Spectator Jail PB, save on deep A5, kill gammas, get Ice, Exit&Load, clean bottom A5, get EMP Super, pipe to A1.
Get charge beam, spiderball and top missile on A1, speedboost your way to ship, save on ship and refill P1 constantly when they're fighting Queen, get inside ship when Baby collected
There's some wacky stuff so enjoy!

I found out that it's possible to lay a pb after the room transition ends but requires pausing then placing it just after it.
This complete obsoletes the gravitt zip since this is 100% consistent and doesn't crash the game as long as the walljump is aligned to the septogg.
The route goes like this:
P1 Save on the first save room, go to Golden Temple, grab bombs, grab middle etank, charge room, then grab spiderball, reload, kill first alpha, reload. P2 Go to Hydro Station, kill entrance alpha, grab missile on the way to the save and save on the top, kill the top left alpha and the deep A2 alpha, grab Wave, Hi Jump and the two items that are besides Hi Jump, reload and kill Arachnus, grab the top right missile when leaving.
P1 Get 2 missiles before A2 entrance, go save inside the complex, grab speed, reload, grab space jump and quit+load, grab spazer, kill gamma get missile, complete rest of inner a3 then reload after autoad SM. P2 Go get the Super Missiles from the Dual Alphas, kill them and head to A4, grab the items along the way.
P1 Get items outside A3, do bg3, mines, then EMP item. P2 Save inside Tower, collect the Power Bomb, detonate Geothermal Plant and reload the moment the background changes to red. Get remaining items, Reload, activate the tower, quit and load save, grab plasma and the super inside, reload.
P1 Clear items on the way to A1, then guardian + BG1, then GT. P2 Go to A5 and activate EMP and kill Zeta. Go to right save station, save, get Screw, reload. Fight the Alphas, get Gravity and its items and reload. After that, go to Ice. Save at the station before Serris, kill the Gammas on the way and exit & reload after getting Ice.
P1 Kill metroids in a4 and grab items on the top and bottom.P2 Clean bottom and left A5, save, collect missing SM, reload. Pipe to A3 and speedboost to the A3 entrance, save, speedboost your way to GFS (Right PB - Left PB - Genesis), when reaching Genesis, grab the etank, quit & load save.
P1 Go to A2, clear varia items, emp and clear BG2, reload after PB, clear A6, Nest, reload on A4, get to labs, kill queen, get baby. P2 Grab the last missile on the way to Ship, save along the way if P1 needs it, save frequently on Ship while waiting for Queen Death. Get inside ship and pause before it starts saving, wait for baby to un-pause.
Thanks to Bastion B-59, GlockenZero and Alex87 for playing.
The previous runs had their title changed to Any% No Cactus.
I timed every level in order to figure out which ones give roses as fast as possible, the key is skipped but the time loss is offset by not needing to complete the levels and to just get the 30 roses.
Probably my first time going all out on a category but the double jump makes things much more enjoyable to play.
Very happy with this run despite my goal of a high 19, it's the first deathless and with a sub minute final boss run.
Now deathless is mandatory which is gonna be frustrating to run against.
Currently thinking of going for 18 or just start routing 100%
There's still plenty of stuff to improve since this was on my second day of running it and also I have to take a look at that clip that I found on the same day too: youtu.be/NHblPkWIfJU
I really recommend this game so please take a look at the steam page: store.steampowered.com/app/1726760/Curse_Crackers_For_Whom_the_Belle_Toils
"This build is unfinished in polish and features, but it should get things started for those aspiring creators and dedicated players alike. Until this is more complete, consider this more of a novelty. A guide on how to use the editor is embedded into the build, if you are still unsure on how things work (or if you've found a bug of sorts) then please contact Maylokana or ask in the AM2R discord server."

Turns out the explosion interrupts the climbing animation and since it never ends, the "canbehit" flag is still at 0 so only larvae metroids and meboids can damage me AFAIK.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this co-op run, it was really fun.
The good side is that we save missiles, health and avoid the RNG from those two phases.
So after 17 attempts, I got a beast of a run which was a 1:08:43 RTA but has a faster IGT by 1 minute 12 seconds.
The route seems to be better than the other seed but has more room transitions, if this run was made on the other seed, this would have been a mid 1:07.
Seed: 3511471594
There might be some discord noises at some point.
Also this gave me some useful info regarding the limit of how much we can zip without crashing the game and with the range deactivated.
Samus teleported to the single left tile which seems to be enough, I tried again one tile lower and the game crashed.
No idea the uses of this, maybe to bait the SA-X? Because it seems to be extremely limited tho.
Probably faster than the TAS too since the clip that Naatiska made, resorted to using bombs near the top.
This likely affects the routing done in casual co-op games, could be used in PvP but getting oob is strictly prohibited.
Just today I started assembling the clips and then editing this compilation for you so enjoy!

ELM means Extreme Lethal Mode which spices things up :eyes:
Insanity means that we can't save so we have to refill through drops and try to not die or we are going back to the ship lmao
I was playing on the newest Horde mod wiith ELM enabled which shortens the time of the escape even more and the seed itself was not helping lol
The game is Streets of Rage 4, I was playing on the survival mode which is really good and very fast paced at some points.
WR is at Level 62
Welcome to the best way to scare Fusion players in the SA-X mode from the multitroid mod.
You have to demorph and shinespark but then immediately hold both aimlock and forwards.
The video ends abruptly because I failed the next spark miserably lol
Steps required to do it:
Store the boost, turn around, morph, activate the spider ball and then go to the opposite direction until you get hit.
There's another way to do it by moonwalking, the knockback gets reduced to only 2 frames and you still keep the boost but this was known for years already.
The match was on New game + Normal
