With no luck , I decided to designed and built a very basic but fully safe trailer with all the requirements for its roadworthiness, while keeping a minimalist look in its design. Beside these design traits and keeping it light, I needed to make sure that my family could sleep comfortably inside the RV camper. But always keeping in mind two basic requirements while designing and building the Teardrop Trailer; #1. It needed to be under 450 lbs “curb weight” and #2. accommodate four persons. That was the inception point for my idea that the side doors must open and also hold the weight of a person. It was also crucial to keep the center of gravity as low as possible to keep the road handling of the light-weight trailer safe and stable. Being a compact trailer, the usage of all the designed space is critical and significant, so I decided to design a storage space into the trailer floor.Since cars vary significantly in their power and tow capacity, I designed the interior of the Teardrop Trailer with a semi-modular concept for the planned amenities with the objective of keeping the weight at a minimum and also avoiding unnecessary add-ons that could compromise the weight.
