In a less favorable market environment, the result from the Chemicals and Materials segment decreased to 1 point 4 billion euros. Strong nitro margins could not overcome negative inventory effects and the repercussions of the incident in the OMV Schwechat Refinery The Refining and Marketing segment generated 1 point 7 billion euros. One of the main factors that contributed to this increase were the notably higher refining margins in Europe. A strong performance of Gas & Power eastern Europe coupled with improved refining margins and strong operational performance in ADNOC Refining were also driving this significant increase. This positive development was partly offset by a weaker retail result and the Schwechat incident.Driven by a favorable market environment, earnings in Exploration and Production soared to more than 6 billion euros in the first 9 months of 2022.OMV is set to change course and has embarked on a journey to embrace the model of circularity while delivering business success in a low-carbon future. The final works on the refinery turnaround are in full swing when the main column is damaged during a water pressure test in the crude oil distillation unit. The unit is the beating heart of the refinery. With a height of about 50 meters and a diameter of up to 9 meters. Normally, different basic products are produced here from crude oil, products that we need in our everyday lives. The standstill prevents the refinery from operating. OMV Results January – June 2022 OMV 2022-07-28 | omv.com/en/news/220728-omv-group-report-january-june-and-q2-2022In the first 6 months of 2022, OMV achieved a Clean CCS Operating Result of 5 point 6 billion euros. In a favorable market environment, OMV’s integrated business model from the wellhead to high-quality chemical solutions proved again as a positive contributing factor. The Chemicals and Materials segment held steady at a high level and generated nearly 1.2 billion euros.In the Refining and Marketing segment, OMV achieved a steep jump to 1.1 billion euros. Although the retail result took a significant hit, positive market effects and a strong Gas & Power eastern Europe performance supported this result. The contribution of ADNOC Refining & Trading grew significantly, mainly as a result of higher refining margins and further efficiency improvements by ADNOC Refining.Exploration and Production surged to a half-year result of roughly 3.4 billion euros driven by a favorable market environment.The new Strategy 2030 is set to transform OMV into a global leader in circular economy solutions. A long-term process has been kicked off that will transform OMV’s value chain from a linear to a circular model. Turning OMV into a sustainable business is a key strategic priority. But there are also other challenges that require quick, decisive and forward-looking solutions. Contributing to the security of supply in these turbulent times is an important element of OMV’s strategy. Here, OMV achieved a decisive milestone in diversifying natural gas supply for the upcoming gas year. By securing additional pipeline capacities OMV is able to cover all its delivery obligations in Austria, equaling almost half of Austria’s annual demand. Angesichts eines günstigen Marktumfelds konnte die OMV von ihrem integrierten Geschäftsmodell vom Bohrlochkopf bis zu hochwertigen chemischen Lösungen wieder profitieren.Das Segment Chemicals & Materials konnte sich auf hohem Niveau halten und erwirtschaftete knapp 1,2 Milliarden Euro.Im Segment Refining & Marketing erzielte die OMV einen kräftigen Zuwachs auf 1,1 Milliarden Euro. Die Ergebnisse des Retail-Geschäfts waren zwar deutlich geringer, allerdings begünstigten positive Markteffekte und eine starke Performance von Gas & Power Osteuropa dieses Ergebnis. Der Beitrag von ADNOC Refining & Trading stieg signifikant an, hauptsächlich aufgrund von höherer Raffineriemargen sowie weiteren Effiziensteigerungen in ADNOC Refining.Das Segment Exploration & Production steigerte sein Halbjahresergebnis auf rund 3,4 Milliarden Euro. Burghausen im Turnaround 2022: Die Preflash Kolonne OMV 2022-06-13 | Mehr als 3 Jahre Planung, rund 50 Millionen Euro Budget, eine Investitionssumme von rund 100 Millionen, in Spitzenzeiten bis zu 4.000 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter von Partnerfirmen: das ist die anstehende Generalinspektion der Raffinerie Burghausen. Die erste sichtbare Vorbotin, die so genannte „Preflash-Kolonne“, wird angeliefert. In diesem Apparat wird Rohöl vor der Destillation erhitzt.Bei dem Straßentransport einer so großen Anlage mit 30 Metern Länge von Linz nach Burghausen müssen einige Hindernisse bewältigt werden. Nachdem die Anlage aufs Werksgelände gebracht wurde, stehen Kontrollen, das Umladen und der Transport an den Bestimmungsort auf dem Programm. The countersanctions announced by the Russian government at the end of February led to the change of consolidation method of our Russian operations. As a consequence, starting with March 1st Russian operations are no longer included in the Group’s operational KPIs, Operating Results or cash flows.While not being reflected in the Clean CCS Operating Result, OMV incurred non-cash impairment charges and value adjustments of around 2 billion Euros, related to Russian operations and the Nord Stream 2 project, which had a negative impact on the net income.In the first 3 months of 2022, OMV achieved a strong Clean CCS Operating Result of 2 point 6 billion euros. The resilient business model with a growing focus on sustainable and circular solutions was supported by a more favorable market environment as the negative effects of the pandemic shrank.Despite a lower Retail result, Refining and Marketing achieved a Clean CCS Operating Result of 357 million euros. The Refining business could benefit from better market environment and a higher contribution from ADNOC Refining. The biggest impact of rising hydrocarbon prices was seen in E&P with a Clean Operating Result of nearly 1.8 billion euros.OMV has initiated a transformation process. Time laps video: OMV ´s ground-mounted photovoltaic plant in Lobau OMV 2022-02-18 | On a 6 hectares industrial plot owned by OMV a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant with solar tracking and output of 5,590 kWp has been installed.The power produced will meet around 45% of the annual electrical energy demand of the OMV tank farm in Lobau and save around 2,100 tons of CO2 per year.Compared to a fixed installation, a solar-tracking system, i.e. one that follows the position of the sun, increases sustainable electricity production by about 10%. In addition, the solar panels are equipped with bifacial modules. These are “two-sided” cells that can use the reflected light also via the backside of the panel. Stellvertretend für alle, die die Transformationsreise der OMV am Standort Burghausen tagtäglich mitgestalten, stellen wir die persönlichen Ideen von vier Kolleginnen und Kollegen vor – ihren persönlichen Hintergrund, ihre persönliche Vision für eine bessere Welt sowie die Schwerpunkte und Ziele, die sie mit ihrer Arbeit bei der OMV verbinden. Dr. Timo Blumberg, Senior Expert Process Engineering Refinery bei der OMV in Burghausen, kam während seiner beruflichen und akademischen Laufbahn häufig mit dem Thema Wasserstoff in Berührung. Er sieht den Wasserstoff einerseits als potentiellen Energieträger der Zukunft, andererseits lassen sich seiner Meinung nach unter Einsatz von Wasserstoff neue Wertschöpfungsketten für beispielsweise CO2-Emissionen realisieren. In seiner Promotion befasste er sich mit der großtechnischen Produktion von Methanol auf unterschiedlichen Herstellungswegen.Er lernte, dass nicht ausschließlich fossile Ausgangsstoffe wie Kohle und Gas genutzt werden können, sondern alternative und nachhaltige Herstellungswege eine zunehmend hohe Attraktivität besitzen. So können CO2-Emissionen beispielsweise schon heute unter Einsatz von Wasserstoff zu Basischemikalien wie Methanol umgesetzt werden. In der Wissenschaft ist das Thema nicht neu, in der Industrie existieren allerdings noch Barrieren, die es mit innovativen Lösungskonzepten auszuräumen gilt. Die Vision von Dr. Timo Blumberg ist ein flächendeckender Einsatz von emissionsfreiem Wasserstoff in Haushalten, der Industrie und dem Verkehr. Die zunehmende Globalisierung erfordert eine klimaneutrale, ressourcenschonende und sichere Versorgung mit Energie und chemischen Basisstoffen. Als Teil des Teams der OMV kann er den Fortschritt rund um die Schlüsseltechnologie Wasserstoff vorantreiben und so aktiv die Zukunft mitgestalten. Bereits heute arbeiten wir mittels Wasserstoff an der Herstellung von nachhaltigen Treibstoffen für die Luftfahrt, damit das Reisen nicht mehr zu Lasten unserer Umwelt geht. On behalf of all those who help to shape OMV's transformation journey at the Burghausen site on a daily basis, we present the personal ideas of four colleagues - their personal backgrounds, their personal vision for a better world and the priorities and goals they associate with their work at OMV. Dr. Timo Blumberg, Senior Expert Process Engineering Refinery at OMV in Burghausen, came into frequent contact with the topic of hydrogen during his professional and academic career. On the one hand, he sees hydrogen as a potential energy carrier of the future; on the other hand, he believes that new value chains for CO2 emissions, for example, can be realized using hydrogen. In his doctoral thesis, he dealt with the large-scale production of methanol using different production routes. He learned that not only fossil feedstocks such as coal and gas can be used, but that alternative and sustainable production routes are increasingly attractive. For example, CO2 emissions can already be converted into basic chemicals such as methanol using hydrogen. The topic is not new in science, but in industry there are still barriers that need to be overcome with innovative solution concepts. Dr. Timo Blumberg's vision is the widespread use of emission-free hydrogen in households, industry and transportation. Increasing globalization requires a climate-neutral, resource-conserving and secure supply of energy and chemical base materials. As part of the OMV team, he can drive progress around the key technology of hydrogen and thus actively help shape the future. Today we are already working on the production of sustainable fuels for aviation using hydrogen, so that travel is no longer at the expense of our environment. Für Tanja Schenk, Department Manager Online der OMV Deutschland, ist es faszinierend, dass wir Moleküle umbauen können. Egal ob Plastikmüll oder Biomasse wie Cellulose, Fette oder Zucker. Wir drehen und formen die Moleküle so lange, bis wir sie für Treibstoffe oder petrochemische Produkte verwenden können. Sie findet, dass speziell der Einsatz von Katalysatoren viele Wege öffnet. In ihrem Chemiestudium hat sie sich viel mit Mechanismen an Oberflächen beschäftigt. Es gibt für sie so viele spannende Effekte, die wir wirtschaftlich nutzen können. Chemie hat sich zu ihrer großen Leidenschaft entwickelt. Ihre Vision ist die großtechnische Umsetzung dessen, was im Reagenzglas scheinbar einfach ist: Wir kennen und verstehen mögliche Reaktionsgleichungen und müssen aus Ihrer Sicht jetzt den Weg finden, diese auch zeitnah und wirtschaftlich im großindustriellen Maßstab umzusetzen. Tanja Schenk fährt gerne in die Berge, sie muss dafür aber mindestens eine Stunde mit dem Auto auf der Straße sein. Sie findet: Um diesen „Luxus“ auch weiter mit gutem Gewissen nutzen zu können, müssen wir jetzt an den nachhaltigen Treibstoffen der Zukunft arbeiten. For Tanja Schenk, Department Manager Online at OMV Germany, it is fascinating that we can convert molecules. Whether plastic waste or biomass such as cellulose, fats or sugar. Ein wichtiger Meilenstein in der OMV Geschichte am Burghauser Standort. Geschaffen durch beeindruckende Ingenieursleistung und Innovationskraft der OMV. Eine komplett neue Technologie „first of its kind“ für ein neues petrochemisches Produkt bei der OMV. Die Anlage besticht durch ihre außergewöhnliche Energieeffizienz mit 80 Prozent weniger Energieverbrauch und CO2-Vermeidung von 20.000 Tonnen pro Jahr. Isobuten gehört zur Gruppe der C4-Kohlenwasserstoffe und wird durch die thermische Aufspaltung von Erdölbestandteilen erzeugt.
