Mountain Monster Opens to Public Coaster Addict 2019-08-29 | Coaster Addict Butch attended the media preview event for the Mountain Monster thrill ride. The Mountain Monster thrill attraction, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is actually three (3) unique thrills all bundled into one great location. This new attraction anchors the revamped Mountain Mile development's Tower Shops. The Mountain Monster's three rides are its [signature] Mountain Monster, the Monster Fall, and the Monster Launch.About Mountain Monster: Mountain Monster is an aerial dive ride dropping two (2) passengers from a 175 foot tall platform, then swinging them out over the complex at approximately 65 miles per hour.About the Monster Fall:Monster Fall is a true freefall experience (safety belt - no shoulder harness); eight riders slowly ascend to the top of the 190 foot tall tower. Pandemonium POV and ScreamPunk Preview Coaster Addict 2019-05-25 | New for 2019 at Six Flags Over Georgia is Pandemonium. As the park unveils this great pendulum-like, swinging thrill attraction to the general public for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the park gave us a sneak peak of the attraction, as well as the revamped surrounding area (called ScreamPunk). Pandemonium swings outboard-facing riders 15 stories (approximately 150 feet) into the air at speeds reaching 70 miles per hour while rotating them ever-so-slightly, providing a unique experience for everyone (every time)!When it comes to flat ride attractions that pack a thrilling punch, this is the ride that we've been waiting for at Six Flags. With track already completed and much detailed work (i.e. electrical and theming) underway, the coaster project is on track to open as scheduled. Donate Life Coasterthon 2018 on Rampage Coaster Addict 2018-05-31 | Alabama Splash Adventure and the Alabama Organ Center are teaming up to host an eight-hour roller coaster marathon to raise money and awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. Yes, that’s right! Ride a roller coaster for 8 hours! This event will begin in the early hours of the morning to ride the park’s world-class wooden roller coaster, Rampage. Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster Grand Opening Ceremony Coaster Addict 2018-05-13 | Six Flags Fiesta Texas opens the first single-rail roller coaster. A first-of-its-kind, thrilling roller coaster, Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster runs on an I-beam track that is just over 15 inches wide. The thrilling ride experience features a spectacular straight-down 90-degree drop, two airtime hills, one 180-degree stall, one zero-g roll, and overbanked turns. The coaster experience has three vehicles with eight single-file, in-line passenger seats. In addition, the coaster queuing is themed to Wonder Woman, including a Princess Diana in Themyscira visual storyline featuring Greco-Greek architecture, Wonder Woman likenesses, and Steve Trevor’s crashed plane. Also, the queue experience offers a unique moving loading station to expedite entering and exiting the ride. Six Flags Fiesta Texas showcased the ride to passholders, members, and media professionals. Carowinds Project Alpha 2019 Construction Update 1 Coaster Addict 2018-05-12 | Just three years after opening Fury 325 to park guests, Carowinds appears to be working on a brand new roller coaster project for 2019. Code named Project Alpha, this new construction project is massive. During the early portion of the 2018 season, our team has visited Carowinds and observed a lot of the land-clearing that is currently taking place. With a big piece of land under development, the park has yet to officially announce anything, but various project plans and related sources have popped up in the form of permit and trademark filings. There will be much more to come at this construction site, and all indications point to a significant new addition to the park - likely a solid roller coaster with an extensive layout. Tunnel and Footers Visible - Canadas Wonderland 2019 Construction Update 1 Coaster Addict 2018-05-11 | Canada's Wonderland appears to be working on a new roller coaster attraction for 2019. Construction is already underway at Canada's Wonderland, and guests now can see a tunnel and footers. With the construction project well underway (and it only just being opening weekend at the time of this footage), we are confident this could be quite a big project. While early speculation is that Canada's Wonderland might be adding a new dive coaster from B&M in 2019, details are not confirmed. Calibrating The Brake Run? Twisted Cyclone Construction Update 13 Coaster Addict 2018-05-09 | In the last update, we were fortunate to catch a glimpse of a full lap test of Twisted Cyclone's red train. Now. however, engineers and crew are fine-tuning various components near the brake run and storage shed. It is possible that they are getting the computer setting perfect for the braking of Twisted Cyclone and to ensure that it safely and efficiently transitions between blocks! We are confident that the coaster will continue undergoing more testing throughout the week while the park is closed to the general public; who knows? A Wild Cedar Point Opening Weekend 2018 Coaster Addict 2018-05-07 | The weekend that every roller coaster fan has been waiting for all off-season. Cedar Point opened its gates to the general public for the highly-anticipated 2018 season. While there were a few hiccups here and there that tend to occur when a park opens up for the first time in a season and a few unexpected challenges along the way, enthusiasts came from far and wide to ride the biggest and baddest new coaster to open in the United States in 2018. Twisted Cyclone Begins Testing - Construction Update 12 Coaster Addict 2018-05-06 | Train Testing for Twisted Cyclone has started at Six Flags Over Georgia. It appears that only the red train is currently testing as the crews and engineers work to ensure that all systems are tweaked and tuned for the ride's anticipated opening (Memorial Day Weekend). While standing at the Marthasville Train Station to shoot a quick (and somewhat lackluster) construction update for Twisted Cyclone, everything changed. We heard the clicking of the lift hill, and then the red train for Twisted Cyclone appeared. This Rocky Mountain Construction roller coaster is going to be a game-changer for the Atlanta-area amusement park. With testing of one train now underway, we are confident it will open on time. Preparing For Train Installation! Twisted Cyclone Construction Update 11 Coaster Addict 2018-05-04 | With the track for Twisted Cyclone completely installed, it is now time for the construction crew to get the track ready for train installation. Engineers are working to get the computer system in place while other construction workers are on the lift hill preparing for the trains. Is the chain installed, or are they just preparing for chain installation? It is hard to tell from our angle, but Twisted Cyclone is nearing the phase where they begin testing! Cedar Point FrontierTown Hoedown Steel Vengeance Off Ride POV Coaster Addict 2018-05-02 | Cedar Point previewed its hyper hybrid RMC coaster, Steel Vengeance, to its passholders, during the FrontierTown Hoedown. During the event, passholders were able to check out the new roller coaster as well as some of the new food additions being offered in 2018. Twisted Cyclone Track Complete, Construction Update 10 Coaster Addict 2018-04-25 | The track has been completely installed on Twisted Cyclone, and the exit building that will be used to sell ride photos and Twisted Cyclone merchandise has been erected as well. In addition to that, we noticed a few more progress updates that were newsworthy during our recent visit to Six Flags Over Georgia (Sunday, April 22, 2018).Construction crews seem to be focusing on structure support around some banking areas near the west ticketing area (where the new membership tiers are being sold) as well as working more on the queue areas. Also, there appears to be more fencing near that service road by where the final piece was installed with more yet to be installed.We hope to see trains testing in a few weeks, and then we will be ready to ride. Twisted Timbers is an Instant Hit Among Kings Dominion Guests Coaster Addict 2018-04-24 | Twisted Timbers has been an early success story for Kings Dominion. Sure, there might be a few bugs to work out of the system since this coaster has the new generation train from Rocky Mountain Construction, but Kings Dominion has a hit of a ride - a coaster filled with fun and airtime - something perfect for enthusiasts of all ages. Here is some of the off-ride footage we shot during our visit for Media Day. Our team continues to get out to this park to get in extra laps on it; we just cannot get enough.
