Guitar Hero: Smash Hits - Psychobilly Freakout Expert 100% Bass FC
updated
Since I already had a Black Friday video from the Steely Dan pack up on the channel, this is what is going to fill in the gap this week. I have had this video sitting on my hard drive for a while and wasn't sure when to drop it here, but this felt like a good time. I still need to come back to finish up GH5 since I was so close with finishing the FGFC, but I'm not too interested in going down that path just yet.
This score is actually pretty good, good enough for 3rd place overall at least. I'm really only missing 400 from the third act, which I had adjusted for an earlier activation since the optimal activation there happens in-between the yellow hopo and the strummed yellow iirc. Yikes, no thank you.
"Steely Dan Track Pack" (April 16th, 2009)
This is easily the most fun bass track of the DLC library. I technically already have a video on this song, but I wanted to do this one again with the WoR engine that I already had been playing on with the other songs and with an actual path. This one definitely needs more work, but I just kept having a mental block with this one with squeezing for some reason. Might tackle this one down the line.
That's it for this pack. I already have a Black Friday video already posted from a year or so ago, so tomorrow I will be putting in a video that I have forgotten to upload for quite a while in relation to Guitar Hero 5.
"Steely Dan Track Pack" (April 16th, 2009)
Oh boy, this is one of the bigger and better track packs from World Tour for damn sure. This was one of the track packs I was chipping away at before my RGH system decided to die, but now I can finish this one off.
This one isn't too great of a score, as with Wednesday's remaining track. This was a somewhat competitive track pack and I didn't really want to deal with doubles too much here, so I was definitely leaving a lot of points on the table here.
"Knuckle Sandwich Track Pack" - (July 30th, 2009)
Oh boy, this was a fun one. This is definitely up there as one of the harder bass charts out of the DLC library, and I somehow managed to get the FC rather fast, on top of getting first by a somewhat comfortable margin. The first activation was tripping me up for a good minute, but I somehow managed to string it all together, minus a good third activation, which I'm missing at least 200 from a better squeeze on the blue hopo so I can get the green at the end. Just those 200 and some points off the extended sustain glitch would probably do it.
"Knuckle Sandwich Track Pack" (July 30th, 2009)
Decent, if not forgettable song. Possibly an optimal here, but when ticks are involved like this, who knows?
"Knuckle Sandwich Track Pack" (July 30th, 2009)
A bit late with the Irish sounding stuff, ain't it? This comes from a very weird track pack, albeit kind of fun one overall that came from towards the end of World Tour's life cycle. Fun song in general, just kinda boring on bass. Really only ticks left and maybe a tough extra 200 off the end of the 1st activation.
"80's Track Pack" (March 25th, 2010)
Great song, great re-record with a good score, not much else to say about that.
icymi though, this song turned out to be a part of the cancelled Band Hero 2's setlist after it was found in the GH6 first playable prototype (granted, it didn't have any instrument charted). Seems like based on timing of events, Band Hero 2 was canned pretty early on in 2010 since the build of GH6 was from December 2009 and this pack came out in March the next year. I think this was an expensive one to license, so the team really didn't want this one to go to waste.
"80's Track Pack" (March 25th, 2010)
Happy with this score, though I think you can get a double off the 2nd activation. 1st act double might be possible too, but that one looks WAY worse. No thanks, I'm good.
"80's Track Pack" (March 25th, 2010)
Oh boy, it's one of those "Smash Hits 2" sort of songs. Good song to pull up as DLC after GH80's though. This pathing could use some work, mainly pushing the first act to the first orange sustain, but I didn't really want to spend much time with this one in the end.
"Queens of the Stone Age Track Pack" (October 1st, 2009)
THIS BASS INTRO! MMMMM SOOOOO SLUDGY I LOVE IT.
Anyways, decent score but mainly missed the end of the last activation. Didn't really want to spend too much time with this pack since I wanted to move on to work on other packs.
"Queens of the Stone Age Track Pack" (October 1st, 2009)
Kinda meh score for the most meh song of the pack. Still a good song, but easily the most forgettable of the pack.
"Queens of the Stone Age Track Pack" (October 1st, 2009)
WE ARE SO BACK. If you haven't heard the news, the Xbox 360 finally found a way to temporarily softmod the system via Rock Band Blitz. Because of this new discovery, I was able to hack my personal Xbox and have it run with all the DLC in tact. While this isn't as good as an RGH system, this is all I really needed to get rolling with the DLC again. If you want to check out how this works, I recommend the video down below to AWiseMoose's channel to figure out how you can do the same thing.
Thought I would kick it off with an absolute banger of a track pack this week. This is a pretty good score for this kick ass song, but I feel like I could route the SP a bit better with the second/third activation, but this is 1st on WoR leaderboard.

Still want to eventually get back to uploading more videos soon, but I've been super busy IRL and haven't had much of an itch for rhythm games as of late. Hopefully more will come this 2025.
We back? Kind of. I can finally start playing on console again now that I have a working guitar that works on my stock 360. Basically rebuilt one of my broken guitars using the RetroCultMods kit, and it works like a dream now. Thought I'd post a random FC to get things going, but I'm not sure what I really want to tackle first. Been thinking of going back and re-doing GH Van Halen, but honestly could go any way with this.
Finally some Cliff Burton love around here. Always loved this riff on bass and always will.
Finally some Rob action on this channel and not stinky old Lars lol
Black Album was always a good album imo, but it definitely signaled the decline through the 90's (idk what else to talk about here, whaddya want from me lol)
Finally some Metallica up on this channel, huh? I was feeling a bit burned out from playing rhythm games right when Season 4 was about to drop, and wasn't really feeling up to try and record stuff for a minute. Finally got around to doing so and finally bit the bullet on actually buying stuff on Fortnite since it's Metallica we're talking about here. Great to see this stuff come to fruition after all the talk for the past few months. (Also Lars on bass = I haven't spent enough time to unlock Rob at the time of recording lol)
Great song from probably one of my top 5 albums from the 90's. Saw this one in rotation and tried grinding out a good score. Probably could have activated a bit sooner on the last activation, otherwise just need more perfects.
Thought I'd try to score attack and upload a new release on Thursday nights and see how this does.
Classic GH3 track, glad they are adding more RATM, but can I get some Bombtrack love, Epic?
Double upload today to catch up.
Some people will know this one as being DLC for Rock Band 2. Real ones will know a mix of this song was featured in the Sega Dreamcast classic: Jet Grind Radio.
Whoops. Meant to have uploads for last Friday and Monday, but was dealing with some sickness all last week. Would have had something up Monday, but I have been without power for the past 2 days because strong winds and power lines go great together, huh?
Anyways....it's about time some Metallica hit the scene. Good song to put out here, and hopefully more to come with Season 4.
This song just makes me remember the terrible Suicide Squad movie from back then.....good song at least.
Thinking I'm starting to get a better handle of perfect notes. Been averaging around 70% or higher nowadays. Still kind of have GH squeezing brain where I would be hitting stuff way later.
Oh yeah uhhh......Band Hero represent...or whatever.
Great song that hasn't been in any Rock Band or Guitar Hero yet. This was one of the early 'hard' songs on lead for a bit when this game started out, but some harder stuff has come out since. Bass part here isn't really anything crazy, but it's fun.
Ugh. I kind of wished a different A7X song was chosen instead of this. Beast and the Harlot or Afterlife anyone? It's cool that M. Shadows finally let anything come out, but man I get sick of hearing this song. It's not any different from the RB4 chart from what I recall, but hey it is what it is.
This one was weird. I had a lot easier time getting close to an FC on lead than here on Bass for a bit. Bass chart is just weird because of the green HOPOs (for example at 0:39). I think muscle memory from GHM and the lead parts just want to throw me off, but here we are at least.
Probably one of the best songs to come out of the 90's, but again still feels way out of place being in this game.
Classic GH3 song. The lead chart is miles easier than the GH3 chart, almost wanted to just go FC that instead of the bass chart, but I want to at least keep this channel mostly focused on uploading bass charts.
Mild soft spot for this song, but really not much to say. Could have handled activations a bit later in the song.
Uh. I guess this just feels like a bonus song out of GH2.....but less interesting. Decent chart, but I kind of wish an actual band was credited here instead of it just being.....Epic Games. Whatever.
The 90's grunge kid in me squealed when I saw this was being added....and was honestly the catalyst for me downloading the game. Still had to wait a couple of days, but hey we here. This was RB2 DLC iirc, and of course... ON TOUR BAYBEE.
A classic. Kind of fun bass track to play to. Could use work on that score though.
A Tuesday upload? Yep. I'm mostly doing this to catch up on new song releases. M-W-F is still going to be the standard upload days going forward. Fun song to add, if not a bit of a weird juxtaposition for this game. Scoring is still weird in this game, so I guess I'm not going to be too focused on that since whammy adding to overdrive hasn't been added yet. Also some videos are not going to have hyperspeed....this is because it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize how to turn that on lol.
Welp. I guess I was gonna have to upload a Festival video at some point.....
Was never interested in this game until they added proper support for instruments, and well that time finally came....sort of. Having to go through some hoops to get the guitar working since Festival didn't support anything outside of the RB4 Jags or the Riffmaster was a bit of weird trial and error. Engine is kind of fun, but could use some work ngl. Not planning on uploading all that comes out....mainly only going to upload songs that interest me or seem to have a fun chart.
"Neversoft Thanks The Fans Track Pack" (November 24th, 2009)
This. This is the worst DLC song hands down. I could say anything out of the Country Track Pack was the worst, but that is truly down to my tastes not aligning with that pack. Wonderwall? Nah, at least that song was a cover of a good song. No. This song is.....just....why? Just feels like it belongs in some weird kid's show. Score is kinda meh. The last activation is just a tick fest to grind for optimal, and I wasn't really feeling that when I didn't want to even hear this song in the first place.
"Neversoft Thanks The Fans Track Pack" (November 24th, 2009)
Not too bad of a song.....you could say it's all right....
Decent score, tied for first last time I checked....but could use some doubles on the first two activations.
"Neversoft Thanks The Fans Track Pack" (November 24th, 2009)
So, I was looking through my recordings, and I realized I never uploaded any of this pack. Thought it would be time to upload some stuff since I have a bit of an upload drought (more stuff will come soon lol). I only have half of this pack recorded. Two of the other songs I never got around to are some of the harder songs to even FC on Bass.
This certainly is the song of all time though. People tend to make this out to be the WORST DLC song....but I kind of disagree. It's bad, but there is another song in this pack that I think is genuinely worse than this one....
One of my favorites from Rush, too bad the chart isn't super interesting. Would have been fun to see them mix the keyboard charting into this part, but that might be too much to ask when it was just RB3 era DLC.
Taking a bit of a break with uploads for a bit after this week, but will probably be back in a month after I get some more uploads ready since it's been a bit busy for me to get enough recordings done.
Came for the Jack Black, stayed for the outro.
Back to some DLC this week, and starting off with probably one of the best songs on bass. Actually tried score chasing this one, but fell 800 short. Could have done better with back ends and a better 3rd activation, but whatever, this song kicks ass.
I've said this before, but I think the Killers are overrated. Never really liked any of their stuff outside of maybe one or two songs out of their catalog.
Great song from the 90's for damn sure. Almost felt compelled to score this one a bit better, but didn't really feel like dealing with that semi-weird outro.
Fun song from the earlier System library. Tried to score this one without looking at any other run, but was short about 1300 from being a good run. Probably would have done better with an earlier last activation.
Love this song, but gotta admit the bass line is super simple like most other Cure songs. At least I'm posting this on a Friday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Decent little punk song, but not much more than that.
Back to some on-disc stuff for this week. Pretty good QOTSA song, but I've never been too fond of this album as a whole. Mostly like a lot of their stuff from 2007 or prior, but they still kick ass for the most part.
Absolutely love the grand finale section. Probably some of the best Rush ever had to offer in their entire catalog imo. Score here is way better than how I handled the second part.
Full song coming soon.
Boring part to play since it takes so long to get to part 4. I already have 2112 overdrive routed for the entire song, but I never really bothered for the sections beyond the second section of the song by itself, being here.
Starting off the new year with the 2112 pack! Thought it was time to tackle this song at some point, and I honestly thought the Warriors of Rock chart would have come first, but I guess we're in the Rock Band timeline now lol.
