The difference with Sunshine's fire bounce is that it's handicapped making it nearly impossible to recover if you find yourself in a bad spot; this is intentional due to situations like Pianta Village Episode 3. The developers made it so when Mario is burned he barely has any travel velocity and no real control, the most you can do is hold the control stick to make Mario move forward a bit every bounce. To change the fire bounce, parameters in /params/mario/jump.prm must be altered. mFireDownForce - Mario's vertical velocity when burned mFireDownControl - The control sensitivity of Mario when burned (this is set to 0) mFireBackVelocity - Mario's backwards horizontal velocity when burned
As an additional note, when Mario lands after being burned he's supposed to play a voice clip while recovering. This gets canceled out by the screaming voice clips as they take priority, and although it's possible to hear them normally, the voice clips being obscure to hear in-game is a side effect of how long the screams are and how crippled the bounce is.SandPlane demonstrationsunn2024-09-27 | This is an unused actor named "SandPlane", a generated plane of terrain. The plane requires a heightmap (/scene/map/map/sandplane.bmp) and a texture (/scene/map/map/sandplane.bti), luckily these files are still leftover in some scenes. The actor only works if placed in the map group of a scene.bin table and the only controllable property of the plane is the Y coordinate of where it appears in the stage. The unique attributes of this actor is when sprayed or ground pounded the terrain will deform. There's also a duplicate of this actor called "RockPlane" that is the exact same but calls for "rockplane" versions of the files that no longer exist. Given that the sandplane heightmap leftover forms a sand castle and is leftover in the exact scene, it can be assumed this would've played a part in Secret of the Sand Castle. This one is not tied to pollution and can move around by using its seed projectile to set its new position.
