In latest project i had a lot of clones which need to be placed in straight angle to each other. I tryed to make it with step and random effector, but it was very hard to setup, so i thought why just not use formula effector:)
I added some subtitles, so i hope it will be easy to get nerd stuff.
I made 30 groups of particles, for each group setup own PShape with material (30 mat, 30 object, 30 TPgroup). And change group depending there speed. If you dont understood you should watch video.

0:22 - Setup simple emitter

I tried recognize it in C4D a few times and it is my the third attempt. This is very fast render, so sorry for bad quality. I used realflow for simulation and TP for control size and color in c4d. Control colors of particles was realy hard task. Result is not very clearly with color.
If you want, I could make a short video about how to control some parametres of particles (like size, color, orientation etc.) depending on velocity (or other paramtres).

Btw, you could use PRepulse&Bounce node. It works fine, but it has less controls that mine setup.
I haven't any idea how to use it. And it work not perfect. If you know how to imporve plz comment!
