This is Me 💗 MEP Part sundapple 2025-08-13 | full mep: youtu.be/i8OcryR9yXEdesert hearts coded mash for youtube channel deserthearts! i take this very seriously so every animash character was chosen very carefully to adhere to their movie counterpart. it's taken me a few months to solidly decide on a ship who should represent cay/vivian. at one point it was perdita/rita or duchess/rita, but neither of those two worked right. rita works as cay as a way to honour her actress, patricia charbonneau, hailing from new york city. but the dynamic never quite hit.kiara represents cay because she is canonically a young adult and i decided it's the best option to highlight cay's age gap in contrast to vivian. she also has the spunky personality and, naturally, the option to include sarabi to represent frances. sarabi is obviously kiara's grandmother, but frances isn't cay's biological mother and in terms of ages, it was the best fit. kiara also allows for using kovu as darrell, which is loveless relationship potential. duchess is vivian because i view duchess as one of the more mature animash characters, and she's probably a good bit older. the existence of o'malley means i have options for vivian's ex-husband, even though he is faceless and never on screen in the movie. dixie and cash make a mini cameo at the start, and they represent cay's friend silver and her fiance joe. i knew right off the bat that silver should be dixie because of the country charm, her hair and the fact that she can sing, and cash as joe was the easiest option.i'm so happy i managed to edit this ship for theochka's soulmate mep in the end— desert hearts has meant a lot to me since i first watched it in april 2022, and being able to . hopefully i can do it many more times with future parts!☾ ⋆*･ﾟ:⋆*･ﾟsoftware: after effects 2024colouring: minemasks: mine, falibat, xMittens, blxeSupernova, blumedyn, binniewabbit, kopa, elateroidea, strawberrywishes, zstarchaserrrremovals: strawberrywishes, Thelysea
