DIAPHONOUS I: Zack Fair - It cant rain all the time... Artless Angel 2016-10-09 | This is the first part of a series of vids I'd like to make about the notion mentioned in the opening of this edit – a wall between two worlds becoming thin, fragile, diaphonous: you watch one story, but you apprehend another one behind it. It's not only about the concept of crossovers in terms of footages but also about twilight zones and ambivalences in terms of ethics, morals, the socially accepted etc.The perpetual rain in the movie and the rain in Zack Fair's death scene bind the footages together here, an emblem for sadness as well as carthasis.So does the symbolism of feathers and wings in both stories, and questions of 'justice' and 'monstrosity.I watched "The Crow" with my friend Andi/ZacktheFairest2 on some fantasy film festival ages ago. It was one of his fave movies, because – apart from the sheer spookiness of the fate of the leading actor, Brandon Lee, who died under rather weird circumstances before the movie could be completed- it challenged his assumptions of what being 'fair' actually means. 'Putting things right', as the girl in the prologue says, means 'revenge' in that ghost story: Eric Draven, returning from the land of the dead one year after he and his girl got brutally murdered, kills all those involved in the crime, before his soul finally can find peace.***************************************************************So this cocktail of two of your fave fandoms is dedicated to you, Zacky. Well, that day will never come so this year I started to edit with Premiere Pro (I'll upload some mep parts I made with it soon). BUT Premier CS6 still has stability problems although I love the smooth when I want to integrate After Effects or Illustrator. So I also tried out Final Cut Pro X. Either trying to drawn them more into darkness OR they try to save them and pull them away from dark thoughts and evil and work as subduers."My rep char in WoD is Wesker, and I gave him Vergil Sparda as the shadow haunting him because there's a connection in Capcom's development of the two characters anyway (which becomes apparent in the visual similarities, I think).And because it was FUN to edit with both of them, of course ;DGot the last part first and then edited the preceding one as a backup, but I'm not happy with it. :/Little communication failure, I had a plan for getting Wesker shadowed by Dante too, would have made perfect sense to me since the Sparda twins are so deeply connected to each other. Visions of Freedom MEP P.10/ ZFDS/Sephiroth Artless Angel 2013-07-29 | HD, please!***********************************************My part for Zack Fair Dream Studios' first MEP - a project that was kind of special because it was dedicated to a very good friend of mine who passed away last January.There were many delays caused by all sorts of chaos that forced me to prepare for a different part several times - which was a bit confusing lolThe editors had to show their ideas about freedom by using their rep chars and the videos were supposed to have an upbeat, positive note. Too bad I'm the only one in the studio who has a rep char that's more famous as a 'monster' + seeks to be 'free' of mankind.But we know that Sephiroth hasn't always been like that, and the fight for freedom sort of connects the 3 Shinra angels and Zack.
