A bit late to the party, I fell in love with the song right when it came out and knew it was something I wanted to work on. But as I listened to the song on repeat, the lyrics really hit me, which doesn't happen very often with my emotional levels of a pet rock. One of my relatives has had a lot of health problems in recent years and last year started showing signs of dementia. The themes and certain phrases in this song were relatable and the lead-ins to the choruses in particular, powerful.Unfortunately I also caught Covid the week later last July at work (the drawbacks of working as a vaccinated public civil servant) and I wasn't able to properly talk let alone sing for over six weeks. It was a fairly bad case and I wasn't sure if my voice would be the same after how frequent and severe the coughing was (just the coughing though, everything else was okay and ppl in the health fields, myself included, don't lie!). Needless to say it eventually healed (this was the first thing I recorded back in action) and as Porter Robinson's moving lyrics say, Everything does indeed Go On. I've loved niki's rock songs but I always felt like most people overlooked BC for some of his other more popular songs so I wanted to cover it many years ago. Unfortunately I could never get it to sound quite right but many years later I think I finally developed better vocals to pull it off better.Fun fact, I recorded these vocals this song back in June but couldn't read and sang some of the lyrics wrong. I then caught covid in late July and while still coughing and hacking away, attempted to re-record parts of the chorus that sounded shaky and all of the harmonies. Ironically most of the mid-Covid recover lines sounded better than the lines I sang while fully healthy, who knew that using smoother and controlled breath support helps when adding texture or power causes endless coughing (for legal purpose this is a joke, always use good breath support and vocal technique ya'll). This song was a great world-building one that laid the foundation for Haruki's backstory with Chiaki (more on that coming up soon!) and helped tie together the different age group of friends together. Souta's song and sequel to A Solution For Jealousy, I distinctly remember how excited I was when the song was released at Comiket (making them kind of canon?), then disappointed that it poofed for two years before finally getting a glorious PV and CV version.Anyway I am very happy to have both Robby and roux back as usual as my Souta and Akari! This song's lyrics were tricky to adapt as there's so many references to both versions of A Solution For Jealousy as well as parallels at Akari's perspective song, but I think I got something pretty good in the end (ofc with just a little bit of Souta's snark and embarrassment). I've wanted to cover this song for years after I heard my friend yoru's cover back in 2014 and had written these lyrics a few years ago. Sadly my range did not work with this song, so instead sayri graciously stepped in and here we are! It's been a while since I worked on these lyrics but I remember specifically trying to adapt this song as if it were a regular Western pop song, so hopefully the lyrics sound more of what you might hear on the radio avoiding the distinctive "anime/vocaloid adapted song translation" sound that can sound odd to people unfamiliar with anime/Vocaloid style music.If you don't already follow her channel and covers, she another long-time English translyrics-writer who does lots of great Vocaloid English covers, I really recommend it and have covered her lyrics too! When this song first came out years ago I was a bit confused since it was the first and only alternate version of a song that was done in a different style and tempo and Jeff not knowing very much Japanese though it was just a cover or smth. Anyway years later (i feel like i say this for every song) this is now one of my favorite in the series, that last chorus section is so great! Tragic but still great.I'm selfishly claiming Kotaro for the series since he isn't supposed to be in any songs at the same time as the other character I picked (Yu) so hopefully there won't be any awk self-duets in the future- (i cast someone else as Midori for future songs since when I originally did Friday's Good Morning, I didn't plan to feature different vocalists for different characters). Tbh after how many years, them Telomere's are probably dead and everyone's forgot... oh wait too soon-Hi everyone, so this was one of the first collabs I organized after getting into the cb scene about 4 1/2 years ago and my first attempt at organizing and English chorus collab (minus a few early YTChorus things that we don't mention). Pretty much everything is back from 2014 except for the animation (by the lovely val who saved this from eternal limbo) and it's really cool to see how much everyone has improved since. Even though it's a bit old I'm excited to finally post it! Thank to everyone who joined this collab and for being patient with how long this took to finish!Extra Unnecessary Note: This project went through a few animators who unfortunately had to pull out and at one point Jeff even attempted to animate it with his limited yet "stunning" AE skills. While it wasn't awful, there were definitely some questionable choices and needless to say it's for the best that version is forever burned and destroyed.
