By using the Simulation Info node, we will generate small number of particles for interactive simulation and large number for caching. Finally, we will explain how to use Arnold curves to render splines without the need for meshing which drastically reduce caching times and renders smooth curves regardless of the camera position.
*Arnold curves* also allow interactive change of the shape size without the need to re-cache.

We'll show you a great new FumeFX 5.0.1 addition - the Parameter Check option that allows you to quickly spot which parameters were changed.
Conservative advection will make sure that the smoke keeps rolling and does not lose any mass during this 260 frames of animation.
We'll go through the simple and efficient Arnold Standard Volume shader setup that converts billowing smoke into a raging wall of fire that rushes towards the camera.

In this tutorial we're going to show you how to create a portal effect that was inspired by the Avengers Infinity War movie portal that appears when Thanos arrives to Wakanda. The portal in that shot displays dark tendrils with small lightings that illuminate it. Instead of the bluish glow we went with the fiery look and simulation that has benefitted from more detail.
We're going to use FumeFX Effectors to control the smoke tendrils around the torus and for final rendering we will use the Arnold renderer. Scanline renderer scene is also provided.

FumeFX GPU accelerated display has been integrated within the Maya Viewport 2.0. The new display includes volumetric shadows, proper geometry occlusion and instant shader feedback.
Arnold renderer support is of a great value to any VFX artist as it provides flexibility and seamless
integration.

Thanks to additional QCG solver and Wind space warp optimizations, FumeFX scenes that include Wind space warp could simulate twice as fast as the FumeFX 4.0.
Another important update is direct Arnold renderer support so that users don't have to go through the .vdb caches workflow anymore. Two new shaders bring the best from both worlds.
There are two possible methods of rendering FumeFX 5.0.1 with Arnold renderer in 3ds Max.
The first option is to render with new built-in FumeFX Arnold Volume shader which is very similar to Arnold Volume, but allows using .fxd caches.
Another option is to render by using the Standard shader as you would render with Scanline renderer of VRay.
Both animations in this clip were rendered with FumeFX 5.0.1 and Arnold in 3ds Max 2018.
Over the past 15 years of development and innovations FumeFX has become an integral part of major studio production pipelines.
It has been used to create visual effects for many blockbuster
including productions such as Dr. Strange, Thor, Roland Emmerich's 2012, Hugo, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Priest, Skyline, Suckerpunch, Spiderman 3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Superman Returns, Iron Man just to name a few.
Computer game cinematics like Blizzard's StarCraft II, Assassin's Creed Revelations, The Warhammer Series and many others have relied on FumeFX software to achieve stunning visuals.
In its fifth incarnation, FumeFX introduces workflow improvements, a ground up redesigned simulation core and hosting an array of unique capabilities that allow artists to create a completely new range of effects that were impossible before.
Majority of video clips presented in this video were created in Autodesk 3ds Max 2018 and rendered using Arnold renderer.

Scene is created with Autodesk 3ds Max 2018 and rendered with Arnold renderer.
The GPU accelerated viewport produces render-comparable images to give instant feedback on appearance and behavior of the simulation. Among many advantages, it supports creation of the preview images during the simulation.
