Evolution of The Creepy Guy Scores - Music by Scott Pincus LordStarscream100 2023-10-20 | Ten years ago, in October 2013, Gabe and I filmed the original Creepy Guy - our first short film. And now, this video celebrates the evolution of the series' music! The original score of 2022's "The Curse of the Creepy Guy in the Woods" features many renditions of tracks from 2017's "The Legend of the Creepy Guy in the Woods", and this video plays the original music from Creepy Guy 4 - followed by the new, "updated" version of each track for Creepy Guy 5. I thought it would be cool to look back at how the series' score improved over its six year hiatus, and how certain tracks were brought back with new and improved instruments. There are many callbacks to the fourth film's score - not only through all the themes being reprised, but also in specific tracks making a comeback. While some tracks use leitmotifs I wrote for characters, many are standalone themes/tracks. For instance, "Saathi's Revelation" (1:03) from Creepy Guy 4 receives a new rendition, but the track doesn't represent Saathi, or anything - it's just brought back for fun. The Shape Hunts Allyson - Theme Suite LordStarscream100 2023-10-01 | The Halloween H40 trilogy brought back many of John Carpenter's original themes, while also introducing some new ones - most notably "The Shape Hunts Allyson". It's never entirely clear what this theme represents, although I always interpreted it as a theme for the Strode family. Regardless, it's a super memorable theme that captures the atmosphere of Carpenter's Halloween scores. The suite contains all the tracks from the Halloween H40 trilogy in which the theme is featured. This includes an excerpt of "The Procession", where a distorted reprise of "The Shape Hunts Allyson" plays. All the music is composed by John + Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. The Curse of the Creepy Guy in the Woods (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) - Scott Pincus LordStarscream100 2023-03-31 | In December, The Creepy Guy in the Woods series ended with the fifth chapter, "The Curse of the Creepy Guy in the Woods". Three months later, I'm thrilled to finally present the film's complete original soundtrack, isolated over the film! The score was written and recorded from September to December 2022, and features twenty-five original tracks. One of the most exciting parts of working on Creepy Guy 5 during its years-long development was working on the score. I've always been proud of the themes I wrote for the fourth film, "The Legend of the Creepy Guy in the Woods", and I looked forward to bringing them all back in the finale. That film's score was the first original score I ever wrote, and I felt inspired to make the most of what I've learned scoring other projects these last few years. This video features every track that was written for the film. You’ll notice each leitmotif is noted throughout, detailing when each theme is reprised. This includes when specific Creepy Guy 4 tracks are brought back and reorchestrated, of which there are some thirteen instances. There are also many parts where the video cuts to black to allow tracks to play fully without overlapping other tracks, hence why this video runs slightly longer than the film itself. Their final chance at peace lurks in the woods - where it all began, and now, ends.The story of The Creepy Guy in the Woods began in 2013, and after several sequels through the years, it comes to a close with the fifth and final installment. This film had perhaps the most troubled development of any project we've ever done. It was in the works since 2017 after the release of "The Legend of the Creepy Guy in the Woods". I had plans for a huge, epic finale where everyone fights Saathi's cultists, but despite many rewrites the script was never finished, and the film was delayed year after year. For a while, it seemed unlikely it would get made. Then in summer 2021, I finally settled on a smaller, yet still satisfying story, and the film entered production. In many ways, "The Curse of the Creepy Guy in the Woods" marks the end of an era. We've finished many of our old series these last few years, and since I entered college I had a big goal in mind of finishing the Pizza No Come, Bread's Crumbs (more shorts to come?) and Creepy Guy in the Woods series. Finally, we've achieved that longstanding goal. Unlike the previous four films, all of which were high school projects, this film was purely a passion project aimed at concluding the series. I'm incredibly grateful for everyone involved, and I'm so glad we were able to bring an end to our oldest series. The first film, "How to Avoid a Creepy Guy in the Woods", was our very first short film. And here we are, nine years later. What a journey it's been. We hope you enjoy. Halloween H40 Trilogy Themes - John Carpenter LordStarscream100 2022-10-20 | With the end of the Halloween "H40" trilogy, I strung together the themes of all three films - "Halloween 2018", "Halloween Kills" and "Halloween Ends" - into one continuous track. And we wrap it up with a mashup of the three themes at once, the "ultimate H40 theme"! Also included are some mini video tributes for each theme. I've got mixed feelings about this trilogy, meant as the definitive sequels to "the night he came home" in 1978. 2018 was great, Kills was thrilling, and Ends had some highs and lows. But the scores by John Carpenter and co are worth coming back to. Been a huge fan of Carpenter's 2018 score since it came out, and apart from using it in our "Vibe Raiders" films I haven't commended it enough. Included in this suite are the themes of each film, with the Kills end titles featuring the drums from the film version. The ultimate H40 theme features the three themes overlapped, plus some extra layers - at the start you'll hear a bit of "Halloween Ends (Main Title)", the 2018 "Halloween Theme" occasionally segways into "Halloween Triumphant", and at 9:31 you might hear a hint of the 1978 theme. Breads Crumbs 4: Mass Consumption - Bloopers LordStarscream100 2022-08-12 | Celebrate the five year anniversary of Bread's Crumbs 4 with the film's massive - and long overdue - blooper reel! Recently I've been editing bloopers from many of our old projects - I never edited the BC4 bloopers in 2017 since I moved to college weeks after the film dropped. Goes without saying things have been crazy busy since, but LS100 bloopers are inevitable ... they just might take a few years! I'm gonna take a break from catching up on bloopers to focus on our next big finale, "The Curse of the Creepy Guy in the Woods". At 49 minutes, this is our longest blooper reel, which was a real shocker to me (the Jurassic Shark III reel was 44 minutes despite the film's four-hour runtime). Lots of great memories in this reel, all in all it's a fun look at the behind-the-scenes antics from our final weeks of high school. And to think this is where the series almost ended! As was the case with my other reels, the footage plays in the order of when it was shot - not in order of the film's scenes. Also, most offensive language is censored, though there's some "suggestive" jokes throughout the reel. Jurassic Shark III: The Revolution - Deleted Scenes LordStarscream100 2022-07-10 | All these years I barely considered editing the deleted and reshot scenes from Jurassic Shark III, but this past week something inspired me to. Truth be told I didn’t remember there being so many deleted scenes - especially since the film is four hours long - but surprisingly there’s quite a few. A couple were reshot rather than deleted entirely, and you might even recognize shots from the trailers. I fully expect this to be the most extensive deleted scenes video I ever do. Breathe Soundtrack - Scott Pincus LordStarscream100 2022-04-18 | This is the original score I composed for Jess Antonacci's senior thesis film "Breathe". I wrote the main theme in November 2020 shortly before filming started, and it's one of my favorite original compositions. The score itself was recorded in March 2021. "Breathe" was in post-production for a while, then it went through festivals, and I've finally gotten around to edit and release the score. The film marks my third time scoring one of Jess's films, after 2018's "The Investigation of the J&H Thief" and "Room 1204", and it's our final musical collaboration for the foreseeable future. Jess made some creepy films through the years, and this was a nice way to top things off. Starring Kaile Martinelli and Stephanie Itkin, "Breathe" follows best friends Bec and Kara as they go on a hiking trip, during which shocking secrets are revealed and their relationship is tested. Pizza No Come - The Unfinished Sequels LordStarscream100 2022-04-07 | From 2017 to 2020, we made five attempts to film Pizza No Come sequels. Due to various circumstances, filming didn't wrap on those days, and the footage was scrapped and reshot long after. Find Peter Parker (Unreleased Soundtrack) - Spider-Man: No Way Home LordStarscream100 2022-03-13 | MASSIVE SPOILERS! No Way Home's coming to home media, and we're hearing some unreleased tracks ripped from the film. One of the best is when Tobey's Spidey arrives in the MCU, and Michael Giacchino reprises Danny Elfman's iconic theme (which you definitely didn't hear in theaters as your audience went nuts). Sadly the track wasn't on the official score, but unlike most other tracks it was cleanly extracted with no sounds/dialogue. So here's Tobey's arrival in the MCU with the isolated score! Wish we heard more of Elfman's Spider-Man theme, especially an action reprise, but regardless this was an awesome touch. And hearing the responsibility theme again was absolutely epic! Breads Crumbs 5: Forgotten Future - Retrospective Trailer LordStarscream100 2021-10-19 | MAJOR SPOILERS! One year ago, I released the Bread's Crumbs Retrospective Trailer, which combined scenes from all 14 films - excluding Bread's Crumbs 5: Forgotten Future which was still in production. This trailer features the same music as the original, but solely shots from Bread's Crumbs 5, with the shots chosen and edited to mirror the original shots and their timeframes. I edited this trailer on and off for two months, happy it's finally done! Given the length of Bread's Crumbs 5, I wanted to make a trailer that solely focuses on the film and uses the Bread's Crumbs - Retrospective Trailer as a foundation. Most of the shots were chosen to mirror shots from the original trailer, though I tried balancing characters to reflect their screentime. For instance, Justin Bartisto appeared frequently in the old trailer, so I used Bread's Crumbs 5 shots to parallel this while not overstating his cameo in Bread's Crumbs 5. There are characters like Jumpa and Zebulon who do not physically appear in Bread's Crumbs 5, so their shots from the old trailer are swapped with unrelated characters.Many thanks to all those who made this journey possible. Fast and Furious - Jakob Toretto / Dark Family Theme Suite - Brian Tyler LordStarscream100 2021-10-07 | Years ago I made a music suite for Furious 7 as a farewell to Paul Walker. Over time it's received much more attention than expected, and so many people have expressed how much the suite meant to them. I promised to revisit the series’ music at some point, so here I am! This suite compiles two new leitmotifs introduced by Brian Tyler in Fast 9. One is heard sparingly, such as at 5:27 and 10:15; it's a sinister theme for Dom’s estranged brother. The other plays at 2:42, 13:43 and all throughout the suite; it represents the tragic family past. I thought the latter was a catchy villainous theme that deserved some spotlight, it carries some strength throughout the score. The original family theme, which is briefly heard at 14:56, is perhaps my favorite theme in the series ... but unfortunately it's largely absent from Fast 9! I believe Brian Tyler wrote this darker theme as a substitute, to highlight the fractured family. Brian Tyler has done a great job scoring all but one F&F film since Tokyo Drift, and as ridiculous as the series has become (thought Fast 9 was very bad) he's always delivered heartfelt and energetic scores. While the Furious 7 suite focused on a farewell, this one focuses on redemption, which you'll notice as the tones of the "dark family theme" become more lighthearted. The World Returns - Short Film LordStarscream100 2020-09-29 | With Bread's Crumbs 5: Forgotten Future still in the works, over the summer we shot a new Bread's Crumbs 4 interquel! "The World Returns" is set two years after the fate of The Clan and the U.B.N.V.A., as depicted in Bread's Crumbs 4: Mass Consumption. Having survived all odds, Kaine West endures the hopeless existence he always feared, and with the support of arms dealer Kosta Brando he struggles to find some measure of peace. Since production on Bread's Crumbs 5 was delayed through the summer, I considered making a new interquel - the first since The Two Man Trio in 2017 - in order to bridge the gap between the endings of Bread's Crumbs 4/Kaine West: No Salvation and Bread's Crumbs 5. Kaine West is an ever-changing character, and in this film he takes some unexpected steps. We hope you enjoy! Last year I released the bloopers for our 2015 films, including "Jurassic Shark III", and now the cycle continues. Despite this footage being old with some "outdated" humor, I've wanted to release this for a very long time, but I never had the chance to. I cherish all the work we've done and this compilation goes to show the fun we've had. Any offensive language in the video has been censored. The first piece, "Mask of Hatred", plays when Lloyd confronts Harumi after learning of her true nature. The second piece, "Harumi vs. Lloyd", plays after the following scene, where a hateful Harumi tells Lloyd about her sadistic plans for his father. For copyright reasons, half the video contains stills while the rest contains clips to avoid big copyright issues. Jay and Michael do some great mickeymousing in this scene, a.k.a. matching parts of the score to fit characters' movements. Harumi's theme sees a lot of development in this track. We're introduced to some dark renditions of her theme for the first time, such as the tense strings and drums at 0:13, 1:14, 2:31, 3:28 and 4:00, and the piano/harp and tense strings at 0:41, 0:58 and 1:40. There's some striking, chilling reprises of the second half of Harumi's theme at 1:44 and 3:43, played with some violent-sounding strings. We also hear a bit of The Great Devourer's theme at 0:21, as well as a playful reprise of the Overture at 0:29 and a more dramatic reprise at 2:05. Lord Garmadon's theme also finds its way in at 0:37, along with the Sons of Garmadon theme at 2:20 and 3:05, and the Garmadon family theme at 3:49. Enjoy!
