It felt like a finish line—until I realised it was just another starting point. Since then, the weight's crept back, and I’ve found myself needing something more than just a gym routine.
So I took up running. Not far, not fast—just enough to feel things again. This is a slow run through the fields of Kent. A bit of breath, some thoughts, a good view, and a pair of tired legs.
Inspired by the great outdoors, this is part personal reflection, part countryside ramble, part experiment in motion.

The scenery on this river is second to none as it meanders through Canterbury.

Karen from @ksgonewild had organised a group camp over a weekend for us all to meet up and swap stories of camping trips gone past!
I tried out my new OEX Hyena 2 tent which held up pretty well in the wet weather; swam in the river (very cold) and hiked up to Bear Tor.
The scenery on Dartmoor is breathtaking and no video footage will do it justice - I recommend taking a trip down there and going for a walk off the beaten track - you will come back feeling reset!

I set up camp alongside 5 other wildcampers as we join in on the International Bivy Camp hosted by Russ Moorehouse. The idea to break a record of the amount of people camping on the same night in something other than a tent. Part of this is to spread awareness of mental health, something that affects nearly all of us.

ITSSSSS CHRISTMASSSSSSS!!!
Let me set the scene... Myself (Santa) & Tom Outdoors (Elf) are out in our sleigh, flying throughout the world when all of a sudden, the dingleberry juice runs out in the flux capacitor on the sleigh causing us to crash land on a deserted beach. We cannot get rescued until the morning, so we have to make do with items we find in the sleigh and survive the very cold Christmasy night!
I hope you enjoy our wildcamp & Merry Christmas to you all!

The final! This is the last section (for me) of the North Downs Way. Having already completed Sections 5 to 11 (and the extra Canterbury Loop), I started back in Farmham, Section 1, and worked my way back to Titsey Hill!
I walked this section on my own, carrying only the essentials, and met up with @TOM_OUTDOORS for an awesome wildcamp. We tried some tarp configurations, and created a relaxed camp.
It feels good to have finished this adventure, and I even got a certificate and patch... thanks Tom!
So I have hit 500 subscribers - thank you to each and every one of you! I wanted to sit and talk about why I love camping and the buzz I get from it. I have used this opportunity to play some clips from past camps that I hope you'll enjoy.
I have been busy filming lots of footage ready for a marathon of uploads, so stay tuned, there is lots more to come!
Lukey Luke xxNorth Downs Way Section 3 Wildcamp | Box Hill to Merstham | Camp with Mike (Higgsy Bear) & TomWild Stag Adventures2022-08-15 | Hola Amigos,
So much to see in only 10 miles! This was a pretty hectic start with a very steep incline up Box Hill, but the sweat and sore calfs were worth it when we got to the top to see the view! I was joined by Mike, from Higgsy Bear Outdoors, who span some good yarns with me! From Box Hill, the trail was a mixture of woodlands and chalk escarpments the treated us with little breaks on the hillside over looking an amazing view.
The final leg for the first day was up another hill where we found Colley Wood. Mike left me here and headed back to his car as he could not stay the night, but Tom was doing a walk nearby so met me for an overnighter.
Camp was cool and pretty easy! I set off on day 2 on a solo adventure, passing so much history as I decended down Reigate Hill and into Merstham.
This is my take on the tradition Maori way of cooking called a Hangi. The idea being that you build a fire in a hole, put your food in and completely cover the hole back in. After some time, dig your food out and tuck in!
Also camped in a hammock - a really still and quite night in the woods!

Tom and I start at Tonbridge castle and follow the river past fields, villages, reminents of the past and wildlife all the way to Rochester Castle.
Part 3: The river is widening at this point, the land around becomes more open and day 3 adds more stress to the soles of our feet. We wake up and head on the final stretch of the walk, a walk that seemed to go on and on at some points, but became very rewarding all along the route.

Part 2: Setting off for a long day of walking, we went step by step along the riverside until we got to Maidstone. A quick stop of an ice cream before our plans changed by getting on a boat to Allington Lock. The walk took us through some desolate lands before we camped up tucked out of the wind near Snodland.
