Introducing tiny11 builder - now in PowerShell! NTDEV 2024-04-21 | Tiny11 builder, now completely overhauled. After more than a year (for which I am so sorry) of no updates, tiny11 builder is now a much more complete and flexible solution - one script fits all. Also, it is a steppingstone for an even more fleshed-out solution.You can now use it on ANY Windows 11 release (not just a specific build), as well as ANY language or architecture. This is made possible thanks to the much-improved scripting capabilities of PowerShell, compared to the older Batch release.In case you don't know what tiny11 builder is, it is a script created to automate the build of a streamlined Windows 11 image, similar to tiny11. My main goal is to use only Microsoft utilities like DISM, and no utilities from external sources. The only executable included is oscdimg.exe, which is provided in the Windows ADK and it is used to create bootable ISO images. Also included is an unattended answer file, which is used to bypass the Microsoft Account on OOBE and to deploy the image with the /compact flag. It's open-source, so feel free to add or remove anything you want! Windows Core OS build 16236 - Quick Look NTDEV 2023-09-11 | A very brief look at the earliest leaked Windows Core build, compiled on July 7th, 2017. Pushing Limits: Windows 11 running on 176MB of RAM NTDEV 2023-07-11 | How low can we go?Well, for now it looks like 176MB is the lowest we could go as far as running Windows 11.This possible world record has been made possible through extensive trial and error, by seeing which drivers and services are absolutely the ones for required to Windows 11 to boot.The base system is a heavily (even more so) trimmed down image of tiny11.Even things like which disk drive interface was used were taken into consideration (I used IDE instead of the more recent SATA or NVMe so that it wouldn't need as many drivers to boot).Pointless and unnecessary? Absolutely!An impressive feat considering that a standard installation of Windows 11 requires almost 40x the amount of RAM from this experiment? Running DOOM inside the Windows kernel NTDEV 2023-07-07 | The most bare-metal way to run a game, inside the system kernel.
