Like Nicki Minaj butt cheeks thick.Snoek smashing on the surface too! 💥quite a sick sight as snoek are usually deeper in the water column.Getting caught up in the morning snoek-tivities I eventually changed to a Frenzy 3 colour that I personally know pulls yellowtail. 😉And ended up getting a sleigh ride before getting wrapped around the reef.Maybe I should have put a lot more pressure to stop the fish? FIRST TIME kayak fisherman paddles 14.5km & theres FISH! Cpt Gingerbeard Kayak Fishing Adventures 2021-08-10 | We took Wynand out for his first kayak fishing trip, bliksem did he paddle well!!So on launching we were greeted with some penguins & well as you know what the say, the bird is the word!Trolling around we had quite a few 'shy' strikes but they never hooked up, with the vast amount of seals in the water they are scaring the fish making them less bitey.Dewald actually had a seal attack & bite his kayak, luckily he wasn't hurt badly in the process but did sustain a bad cut.Anyways it was a blast getting Wynand out there on the water for his first session.What a lekker bugger!Also meeting the little rock spider, Christiaan who is a big fan of the channel as well as a big fishing fanatic! First time fishing with livebait in Cape Town, South Africa Cpt Gingerbeard Kayak Fishing Adventures 2021-02-20 | No lures were working, spinners, sprats or pink plakkies.Pinned out some livies on the Trident Kobu 2/0 hooks and got picked up by something massive.Fishing off the Trident fishing kayak which has a huge open live well. Easy enough to quickly grab a new livie to chuck out.Maybe you buggers would start using livies?This is pretty sick as it's my first fish using a livie in the Cape. I think I have whacked so many sharks & seals with livies before that I was worried I'd be on with a seal again this time.Using lures is still more effective as you cover more area quicker & can chase busting fish without losing your livie.This was one of those flook days. I don't know how many days I have tried this technique before and have failed terribly... So I was super stoked to get this katonkel in the hatch! Yeeeeew!
