My name is Huxley Berg and for the last four years, I have been making lego stop motion videos on YouTube. During my time making Lego stop motion videos, I have learned everything I know about films from shooting to editing. I am a self taught creator and making stop motion videos has been a true blessing in my life; it has given me the means to pursue my goals. However, with that being said, after 95 lego videos, I am now ready to move on to new opportunities and a more mature film career. For all the people who have followed my journey, I would like to end my LEGO career with a bang, by doing something that has never been done before: a frame-by- frame recreation of an entire film using lego stop motion. When deciding what film I was going to embark on, my heart lead me to Deadpool. Deadpool, the 2016 Marvel hit, is one of my favorite movies and I knew that the LEGO format would give me the opportunities to create a new subtext and humorous aspect. In creating a project as large as this, I am in need of money to fund my film. These funds will go towards new equipment, larger sets, advanced lighting set ups, and will be used as well to pay for any other collaborators who will assist me with the film. My mission for this project is to show young animators all over the world that anything and any dream is possible at any age. Many people never truly pursue their dreams because they don’t feel as if they will ever make it; I want to show them, if you have a means of making something, make it! Due to the fact stop motion is a grueling slow process, this project will is projected to come out early 2019. Lets make this together,-Huxley Berg As I’ve said before, a project of this magnitude has never been done before, which in itself is a logistical challenge in that I will be creating all the pioneering techniques from scratch. Deadpool is 108 minute long movie, and prior to this, my longest video, Captain America Civil War Airport Scene in LEGO, was 17 minutes long. 17 minutes to 108 minutes is quite a jump, but being able to even attempt a project such as that gives me personal confidence that I can and will complete the full 108 minutes. Other than the creative action sequences, the movie is traditionally shot which makes the scenes with just two characters having a conversation very easy and fast to shoot. Clearly, this film will take some time, but I can comfortably say that my film will come out in the first half of 2019. The social media accounts created for this project, @deadpoolmovieinlego on instagram and @legodpmovie on twitter, will be posting weekly updates, shots, etc showing the process. The reason I have set up this Kickstarter is because I am hoping to give this film everything I have and devote elaborate resources and stunning sets to it. Because I am hoping to honor the original films specifies, yet am only a high school student, I will need funds to finance the project. In addition, I am also planning on having a visual effects artist to help with some specific scenes and I would love to be able to pay him for his work. I am asking for five thousand dollars, yet if more can be raised, the film will only be more advanced and cinematic. I am aware that my reputation and name as a film maker is on the line and I fully believe I will be able to create a Lego masterpiece to end my stop motion career.
