US Invasion of Panama There Mapping 2022-05-04 | The United States government would invade the Republic of Panama to depose the de facto military dictator: Manuel Noriega. The invasion was done on the grounds of seizing the leader and bringing him to trial whithin the US. However this cassus belli was largely fraudulent. Noriega had been braught to power by the US, and he was strongly backed by the CIA; indeed it was the US that paid him to engage in the drug trade, making it more ironic how charging him for drug profiteering was the goal of the US invasion. Once the invasion came under the way another primary goal was revealed: the dissolution of the Panama Defense Force (PDF), which was deemed a threat to US interests in Central America. While the central government of Panama was a right wing military dictatorship, the PDF, was a generally left wing revolutionary organization which took the place of the Panamanian Army after it was abolished. Banat Republic (Short-Lived State) Everyday There Mapping 2022-04-01 | The Banat Republic was a short lived state which existed in the southern territories of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. The goal of the state was to establish a multi-ethnic country granting equal representation to all groups. It's government, hoping to restructure the Hungarian government into a multi-ethnic state to avoid ethnic conflict in the balkans, agreed to enter into a Confederation with Hungary. Their end goal was to maintain Hungary's territorial integrity, but with a system of administration like that of Switzerland. However the Banat Republic was not the only force at work in the Banat region, which with the dissintegration of central authority and the vast array of different ethnicities; became a melting pot for conflict. Romanian & Serbian administrations would compete with the Banat State, ultimately leading to the intervention of their respective proxies (Romania & Serbia) and the destruction of the Banat State de facto on November 17th when its last territory fell to the advancing Serbian army. The only reason the state managed to survive as long as it did without being invaded by the Entente was manipulation. The Banat Republic warned that it had upwords fo 40 thousand troops to defend the region if a Franco-Serb invasion took place, in reality they scarcely had 4 thousand. Eventually the French and Serbians called the bluff and moved to topple the regime.
Inca civil war There Mapping 2022-03-01 | The Inca civil war was waged from 1529 to 1532 as a result of a dispute as too who would become the emperor the entire Incan empire (stretching from central Chile to Ecuador) in the wake of the emperor's death. Two half brothers would each stake a claim to the thrown and carved out regions of control which they governed independently of one another until the conflict escalated into an open conventional civil war.
Liberation of Korea Everyday There Mapping 2022-02-20 | After over 20 years of subjugation by the Empire of Japan the ending of WW2 would bring about the necessary conditions for the peninsula to be temporarily liberated from Japan before falling into the hands of two foreign countries which both took steps towards dividing the country and establishing authoritarian regimes whithin their spheres of influence. Chimpanzee-Gorilla War (Rekambo-Coastal War) There Mapping 2021-09-07 | Gorrila's, like all Great Apes, are incredibly inteligent creatures. However they have yet to, potentially never will, understand the human concept of a 'border' or of 'war' or of certain food stores not belonging to them. Chimpanzees on the otherhand, have, they have well defined borders with one another (borders that many Chimpanzee Community's enforce by daily patrols), they frequently wage war against one another, and are fiercly protective of their natural resources-especially durring famine-not unlike humans. As 2014 came around, for one reason or another, a major decline in fruits and other edible foods which the Great Apes were reliant upon occured. This started a war between the Chimp Community of Rekambo, and the Gorrila group Coastal.Whether the war has ended or not cannot be confirmed by researchers. For unlike other observed wars between Chimp Communities, this war has been waged by two sides; one side barely even understanding that they are at war. Righteous Army Revolt of 1907 (Everyday) There Mapping 2021-08-08 | The Rightious Army's were a frequent movement which would develop in Korea when a foreign threat emerged against Korea. As Japanese influence in the Joseon Dynasty of Korea continued to expand in the late 1800s, the resistance grew. Before & durring the 1st Sino-Japanese War; a peasant revolt formed in the southwest, demmanding an end to foreign influence. That war led to an eviction of Qing influence from Korea, de facto handing Korea to Japan's sphere of influence. A Righteous Army formed in 1896, hoping to evict Japanese influence and support the newly formed Korean Empire (formed in the wake of the Sino-Japanese War) against further foreign involvement. Two years after its formation however the emperor requested it be disbanded, and the Righteous Army agreed.However Japanese influence in Korea never stopped expanding; after the Russo-Japanese War their control over Korea had been affirmed by the UK, US, Germany, Great Qing, & Russia-if Japan were to centralize control further, there would be no international resistance.By 1906 the Korean Empire had been turned into a protectorate, and a new Governer-Gernal was put in charge of its foreign affairs. However the Japa-nese government had assigned him the job of squashing Korea's military, fi-scal, and academic capacity. the Insurgency of Ecuador-Everymonth There Mapping 2021-08-02 | Ecuador for the most part, unlike their bordering countries such as Colombia or Peru; hasn't seen major civil wars orinternal strife in recent decades. However thanks to the low living conditions & the constant spillover of the Shining Path & FARK; an insurgency would slowely emerge. Starting with the formation of a de facto Shining Path Client movement known as the Red Sun, followed by the most influential group: Group of Popular Combatance (GPC). The GPC would continue to grow as an insurgency, supported by the Shining Path & FARK. Their main ideological tenants rested upon the ideas of Marxist-Leninist Orthodoxy or 'anti-revisionism'. Which is why their insurgency took great inspiration from Ever Hoxha's Albania. As the Shining Path weakened & FARK grew in influence, especially along the Ecuadorian-Colombian border-the GPC would come to more and more seek out FARK military aid. Franco Prussian War & the French Civil Conflict There Mapping 2021-04-05 | In the years leading up the Franco-Prussian War, tension had been rising between the two. A succession crisis in Spain least of all. Meanwhile the emperor of France, Napoleon the 3rd, continued on an agressive foreign policy. It all came to a head when on July 19th, the 2nd French Empire declared war on Prussia, and prussia's allies joined in its defense. While the French made small gains on August second into Prussian territory, they were quickely beatin back; eventually being pushed to Sedan, where they experienced a defeat so major their entire army dissintegrated. In the wake of Sedan the country experienced revolution after revoluion, all while the Prussians occupied city after city in France. The only major resistance being semi-organized militias loyal to a disfunctional Provisional Government. filibuster wars (Guerras Filibusteras) (Fixed Re-upload) There Mapping 2021-02-20 | This video is a re-upload because in the original video the war in Baja California was very inaccurate, as English sources for the event were affectively fantasy, so I've fixed the Baja expedition War.An error I couldn't have fixed without restarting most the entire video was a small inaccuracy with the Mosquito Kingdom's name, I called it the Mosquito Kingdom and continue to do so in this video unfortunately, so I'm leaving this not stating that its the "Mosquito" kingdom, not the "Mosquito" kingdom.The Filibuster Wars featured in this video are the most major and consequential Wars launched by American led filibusters. While there are notably American 'Filibuster' attempts by Americans, they saw no major consequences such as the Crab Massacre.This video is also notably excluding non-American filibusters such as French filibusters in Sonora Mexico and an Irish filibuster attempt as freeing the country, among many others.Thus the Lopez and the Walker wars were chosen as the targets of this video.And finally a note asking other video-mappers to be very critical of most English Sources on the Latin world, as they tend to me misleading, inaccurate, or in this case downright made up fantasy. the Gombe War (First Ape War Recorded) There Mapping 2021-01-21 | In this video I will be showing off my animated map which depicts the Gombe War of 1974-1978, otherwise known as the 4 years War or Monkey War. It is the only recorded war between Chimpanzee Communities. The War started with the death of Kasakela's leader in 1968, after which his successor would prove to be a weak replacement, unable to keep the complicated political situation and alliances in check. so in 1971 the whole Community almost disintegrated with two Brothers who opposed his leadership heading south from Kasakela with other males and females. Upon reaching this southern territory they ran into the much more powerful Community known as the Kalande. The Kalande frequently attacked their weak Community. The new splinter group which formed became known as the Kahama, and the Kahama also ran into the Mkenke. The Mkenke being a minor Chimpanzee Community which allied with the Kahama. In the north the Kasakela-Kahama border would only grow more tense and heated with both sides infringing over the border, taking each-other's resources and performing threatening actions. Now the Kasakela also had another border war to contend to with the quite strong Mitumba Community to their north. However there is no information on the raids and attacks conducted in the region so I left it still. Just know that eventually Kasakela won in the north around 2010 expelling the Mitumba farther east away from their border. Eventually war began between the Kasakela and the Kahama in January 1974, when Kasakela conducting an ambush on a grazing Kahama male Chimpanzee. These Raids continued for the duration of the war leading the the steady collapse of Kahama. Both sides conducted massacres, although because it was the Kasakela who were usually on the offensive they conducted them more often than the Kahama. A notably example of a Kahama militia massacring the Kasakela Chimps was in December 1977, when they went north exclusively to kill women and orphan children. The Kahama defense effort would be wounded by numerous Polio outbreaks and both their enemies having larger numbers. Kahama would last other minor raids of its own however in general the war would be dominated by Kasakela attacks south. Thus eventually the Kahama were militarily defeated. With the last member surviving for many months in central Kahama. Many suspected he would be excepted back into the Kasakela Community, or find a new Community with the Kalande or others, however he was instead killed in a final raid south. The females soon afterwords were either killed or re-integrated.Occupation in this Video:It has come up enough times during this video's creation on wether occupation is really even a concept in this war, and I'll address it, no. Occupation isn't a concept. The areas shown as "occupied" are one of a few things.
