Grimes - Nightmusic (Instrumental Synth Remake) Reverb Machine 2022-02-02 | Grimes - Nightmusic remake. Most of the synth parts were created in Xfer Serum with most of the effects also done in Serum. Only the bass part in the first and last sections is from Arturia Mini V. This is a pretty sparse mix without Claire's vocals! I started putting together this remake in 2020 with the rest of my Grimes article, but I couldn't get the bass synth in the bridge to sound right so I didn't finish it. I didn't recreate the first section with the multi-layered guitars so this remake starts from the 1:40 mark in the original song, when the synths first come in. The plugins used are:- Arturia Prophet V for the main synth in the first section, as well as the shimmering strings at the start of the bridge.- Arturia Piano V for the piano in the second section as well as the repeating single notes during the bridge.- Xfer Serum for the deep bass in the 2nd section.- The bridge Guitar is a Les Paul through a Tube Screamer into a Kemper on an AC-30 model. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (Instrumental Synth Cover) Reverb Machine 2021-06-10 | Kate Bush - "Running Up That Hill" remake. Plugins used are:- Arturia CMI V for the lead, chords and drone. All sounds are resampled from the factory CELLO2 sample. The lead and chords sound were resampled with a pitchbend and the drone was resampled through a large reverb effect.- Arturia DX7 V "32-Bass 4" preset for the bass. The original song has bass guitar credits but the DX7 sounds close enough in the mix.- Aly James VProm 2 for the LinnDrum drums.This is a new video for an older remake. I wrote the Kate Bush Synth Sounds article in 2018 but didn't make a playthrough video for this song at the time. I revisited the remake this week, extending it, remixing it and recording electric guitar for the outro.
