Noah has been breeding and growing monsters for years, and when he told me there was a composer island my fingers started to get itchy :) The composer mechanism wasn't too bad - you could pick your time signature/key signature/accidentals, etc, just couldn't alter the duration of notes (everything gets 1 beat). But a great little in-game fun, esp if you love orchestration or just like to tinker.

He read the entire series and was utterly heartbroken after finishing Killers of the Dawn.For his sake, I wanted to find some way to honor Mr. Crepsley’s death. As a ballet pianist and composer, a musical storyteller by trade, much of my inspiration is pulled from fiction. So I wrote a piece that would dramatize not only the brutality of Larten Crepsley’s death, but also honor the deepest of bonds that he’d forged with his compatriots over long years. As fragile, poignant farewells were shared there existed nonetheless the hope of a rescue that was not meant to be, and in the end, the pain that lanced from this extinguished hope was the most brutal to bear for young Darren. But the transition from raw grief to anger is as quick and keen as a blade and Darren must now deal with a new, terrible truth . . .

Hatched with firescales, she was avoided by all who feared brushing against her, and grew used to moving in such a careful manner that she never touched anything or anyone that might be set alight - accidentally, that is. Once she had moved to the Jade Mountain Academy and was ostensibly free, she still had to be constantly vigilant and was feared by those around her, with the exception of Clay. But still Peril wasn't truly free - she was never fully confident in who she really was - merely attempting to be good or doomed to be evil? She killed for Scarlet because she earned what no one else offered freely - love and acceptance - and she did things for Clay that were 'good' because she tried to be what she thought Clay wanted her to be. After everything that followed on her journey and she came full circle back to her Jade Winglet, the first thing she did that was her own decision and that felt truly right to her was burning Darkstalker's scroll. She gained a huge measure of confidence in herself and the knowledge that she was truly good - not because Clay told her she was, but because she had done the right thing without needing to think about it.
