I finally started doing the proper obj A strat and pumping B a little more. I failed a few 1:14s, but I never expected to actually complete it before 1:15 or 1:16. This is my first 1.2 untied in 6 years.
Big Bossman - Super Metroid - Any % 50:45 (34 Game) Big Bossman 2013-05-07 | This was a pretty unexpected run considering I had barely played over the last couple weeks going into it. Phantoon and Botwoon were as good as I could hope for, but that caused me to have a lot more nerves throughout the rest of the run with a few mistakes that happen very rarely otherwise. Dragon View - Low Level Game - Gizas Palace Big Bossman 2012-09-22 | I beat the game at the lowest possible level to my knowledge.I might have slightly higher experience than the bare minimum due to random battles involved in getting the horn. I fought 4 scorpions and 2 sandworms before fighting the gold sandworm.Getting jade is easy since you can go to the Jade Mine (when there's no enemies) and mine for jade in the walls as many times as you'd like.I got as many items as I could without fighting unnecessary battles. Not having the mirror made playing the 2nd half of the level quite a bit more challenging. It was hard to pass up easy things such as the first armor upgrade, first hauza, and the hauza tech.The trickiest part of the game is doing the cave after the 2nd part of Mt. Badsel and before the Dark World without the fire boots. It's not that hard if you know the strategy though.As you can see in this run, most things can kill you in 1-3 hits depending how much HP you have when you get hit. I only had level 2 armor since all the other armors require killing enemies. I had to peck away at the final boss since I didn't have the hauza tech and sword tech gets blocked. Magic doesn't work on the final boss either.Overall, I didn't find it that challenging to beat the game at the lowest level, but you do need to know the ins and outs of the game to pull it off.
