Winds Of Fjords (Epic Orchestral Remake)
updated
I really enjoyed unveiling the convoluted plexus and discovering unique worlds, levels and tracks.
Playing at 3am barely awake accentuate the certain special ambiance this has.
Was surprised to find Metroidvania elements and found the progression truly added to the experience. yet once I finished it, I found myself pretty empty. That feeling is a testament to how good a game was.
Unless you obtained all 460 stars you wouldn't get the ''true'' ending that of which I found fairly unappealing but also very thematical. I decided to play the unabandoned version next to get their ending which was more concrete but in truth it was more about having an excuse to play more since the red stars were in different locations. It's a gigantic game and I'd be lying if I said I'm done with it although once a certain point is reached you've discovered most of the hub. Or at least I think I did.
Good game all in all.
Sucks that sprite cranberry is discontinued so I couldn't try it this year.
It's a shame the follower ai is pretty mediocre but it's an old game so can't complain too much. It's the only game to startle me a few times.
The music and graphics aren't just good for its time but they're still good to me.

All those fake youtube videos of wildly different plants finally came true.
Odyssey mode was actually pretty hard and took many tries and as you can see from the video, lots of slow motion
Every unique location having their own diverse array of issues and questlines really made the world seem incredibly vast
When I found out that you could actually travel by ship onto the distant islands (especially the giant creature) I was quite amazed. And I'm not one to be often surprised.
If there is one thing I would've changed, it probably would've been more weapon diversity but in fairness that isn't an issue since the combat was pretty easy.
I'll try getting the rest of the achievements eventually.
Also scarily addictive.
Wish it was longer than 3 worlds though
I remember watching Someordinarygamers play this while I was on holiday somewhere in 2015. This also led me to check out the deep web around a similar time.
It's fairly weird that it took me this long to actually play the game and upload considering my knowledge of it.
The game itself has very interesting history.
From what I gathered, the original made by obscurehorrorcorner never existed to the public but the one that came after it was very real.
The images in the game were both illegal and showed the lowest depravities of human kind.
Naturally, the version I played was the clean version with some of the original images but excluding the nsfl.
At first I thought the game was purposefully nonsensical but as I started to read more and more the game started to make sense and I began understanding. This was because I was playing at 2am.
Nothing is supposed to make sense
This morning as I am uploading everything I wanted to see the other emotional games from Mr groan.
Of course there weren't any because nothing in this game has ties to reality. But the other games by the creator are pretty interesting so I'll eventually check them out.
I did enjoy some of the jumpscares
I even more rarely attempt to impose my own ideals onto others especially considering my fundamental beliefs in subjectivity.
But what happened at Columbine truly goes against what I stand for and believe to be just.
It is hard for a being with integrity to not feel empathy for the innocent victims of the shooting.
Yet it is a considerable part of American history and because of the association, this too is a piece of infamous history.
Things become more interesting if you link it to history for, culture is a profound expression of who we are and were as people and culture embodies history.
The map itself was pretty standard, I didn't see anything special in it. I really only did play it because of the history and controversial nature.
There's something special and enjoyable about these badly made games. I'm not sure if it's the soul put into it or if it's just the history behind it.
Saddam was still alive when this was made and the al-Qaeda made a game parodying this one but with Bush. That is oddly wholesome to me and is the only instance I know of this ever happening. Probably my favorite controversial game.
I'm not well versed in Saddam and his politics. Like anything in life your opinion on him is based on your own perspective and principles in life.
He did gas and torture his own people so think of that as you will.
I assume the game is mostly a satirical criticism of the art world and the pretentious nature of those who indulge in it.
The painting of the face was pretty funny
I'm writing this after doing the UAC Lab description so I won't say too much.
Follows the same principles, senseless loss of human life is something I don't agree with
and this is a part of history.
This was probably the most mentally challenging game I've played and I'm proud to say I didn't look up solutions. As a result of that, I had to split the recording in two because it was so long 💀
Beautiful scenery, innovative design.
Great gameplay and honestly a pretty unique premise. It's a shame the game got pretty easy but at the same time I'm thankful because I would've spent so much time playing.
It's really addicting.
Very happy that an upbeat souls-like exists. There's not a lot of bad I can say about the game. There were two times I had to stop fighting a boss and find upgrades though since I don't explore that efficiently but that can't be a good criticism. The characters were surprisingly good and when there was humor, it was pretty funny.
At first I was honestly about to drop it due to framerate issues but after the shader cache did it's job, I was hooked.
This game has one of the best soundtracks I've heard. Most if not all were consistently high quality and catchy.
I wanted to play a casual easy fun game and it definitely exceeded my expectations.
Nice variety of abilities too
Top 10 games I've played this year.
Definitely going to play more kirby games in the future
Originally I was going to just record the boss fights but I figured that as the last game wasn't very long, this one wouldn't be either so I ended up capturing the whole thing. Even the many failures 😭
As a side note, I accidentally forgot to set the timeline to 4k so I pretty much downscaled 4k into 1080p 😭😭😭😭
That mission is far harder than I thought but I realized that if I create parts and demos, eventually I can make the real version using them as a reference.
This is also the game I performed the worst in. Ever.
After Mario RPG I thought it would be nice to continue playing the most recent Mario titles as they were always high quality, casual and fun.
That couldn't have been a better choice.
A game about travelling the world was pretty funny considering I started my quest to travel the world myself.
The game is simply breathtaking there's no other way to describe it.
The only issue I have is that it was so short. Of course, I could've gone back and found more moons but at that point it's extra content in the form of a collectathon.
It's very rare I feel a game is too short but this game was so good I couldn't help but feel saddened.
The most important aspect of this game was the circumstance in which it was played.
To avoid people seeing a shit ton of text about something different, I decided to encrypt my text 💀

I come back from Switzerland, beginning a new section of my life and decide to play some video games again. Imagine my surprise when I find out about the remake already being out!
As I expected, the game was amazing. Beautiful graphics and a beautiful ost to accompany it.
The story was great as well.
In the end I felt satisfied with the conclusion and experience.
(Played on the 15th March)
I had my eyes on this game for quite a while as I wanted to try king's field but couldn't enjoy the dated controls and given that it was from the creators of Lost in Vivo and Spooky's mansion, I knew it was gonna be great. But I had to wait for the full release.
In traditional fashion, I'm uploading this a while after actually finishing the game/video so I can't fully delve into what I enjoyed at the time but I'll do my best.
The atmosphere is probably the most important aspect of what made this game successful to me. The retro visuals and the soundtrack really conglomerated together to create tense and suspenseful moments. The gameplay was simple which was great for a game like this.
Great variety of weapons, magic, distinct locations and easter eggs (Changing the system time was a very cool idea) and interesting story.
If there's one critique I could give, is the length of the game. It seemed to have gone by so quickly but I suppose had it been longer, I wouldn't of had as much fun.
My gaming preferences have switched since my lil epiphany during solo traveling abroad but I don't want to get into that here.
This is the final ''horror/disturbing'' game I'm playing and I'm happy that it was a good one.
This is a very interesting piece of music to me. It symbolises a pivot point in my life, and more importantly, it accentuates the feeling of wanderlust and leaving the rat race of society.
I was in a dark period, and it became increasingly hard to justify whether what I'm doing is truly worthwhile. I've lived in the same place, travelled to the same place, felt the same emptiness, and lived the same muandane life as always.
By some chance, I came across an epiphany. why would I wait until I graduate to live my life? My meaning of life is to travel but I seldom do. Happiness has to be fought for but i haven't done much fighting.
I can travel whenever I want, I have free will and there is no barrier lest the barrier in my mind.
I want to be a human being, not a human doing.
As I looked through the flights and potential adventures, I became inspired and decided to create a tune to match.
The music itself isn't my masterpiece, and I see many flaws. But it's emotion and so I'm proud regardless.
the main melody is actually my leitmotif but sped up. most of my songs using my leitmotif haven't been uploaded yet though 💀
I didn't base the other melodies off of anything in particular, but I can definitely recognise references I naturally made.
If I one day learn to make music, I'll remake this piece.
3am ramblings go crazy fr
There's so much repetition in the indie horror game catalogue that I got bored of browsing itch.io.
But Alpha Beta Gamer comes in clutch again 😭😭😭
Really cool idea and the environment seemed very comforting. I liked the interactions with the characters and I liked the twist of having weeping angel like enemies hunting you while playing golf.
Didn't like the blister part tho. Had to turn off enemies for that one.
Really good game from start to finish. Relaxing, casual and fun.
The wonder flower opened up the potential to do many new ideas and scenarios.
Loved the throwbacks like metal Mario and music stages playing old tracks.
Let me start the review by saying I wasn't aware of the history of the creator, the Nexpo video nor the ongoing Mexico alien fiasco thus my gameplay was solely focused one the game and not external affairs.
First of all, the 90s cg graphics are weirdly beautiful and atmospheric. Unlike most 3d games it feels like an actual world or place that exists.
The soundtrack is phenomenal and very memorable. Kether is my personal favorite. It sounds like you are truly at the end of the world in a dystopian future.
The environments are very interesting and the puzzles great. I rarely actually enjoy puzzles yet I found myself hypnotized by the Nine men's morris.
Talking about the puzzles, the knight and Einstein/Newton were two puzzles I found pretty challenging in the sense that it took around 10 tries. The rest were nice and easy. Weirdly enough, I didn't know that 555 was the correct code for Baphomet. it was a very weird coincidence
Now the lore is an interesting one.
I don't personally believe in the whole aliens built the pyramid shit along with the idea that ancient gods coexist with the Abrahamic god and what not. I believe that we don't know much.
Though I did try to keep an open mind.
The part that got me was the final rant in kether. The game makes you feel like you are actually talking to them especially if their views somewhat align with yours.
Good game.
Along with many other things, it's something people haven't tried yet give a negative opinion on.
It's a different type of game and it's really fucking annoying sometimes but definitely not one of the worst of all time.
It's cool to think about it as the thing that destroyed the western gaming scene even though it isn't true.
As a side note, I would like to explain what exactly is happening on screen.
You have to collect 3 telephone pieces and escape on your rocket. One of the enemies steal a piece from you the other transports you to the city.
In order to call the ship you need to have no enemies on screen.
In order to enter the ship the timer needs to run out and you need to have no enemies on screen.
That is why the game is hard.
I liked the game
Fuck the game
You can't actually win, making this one of the only games I can't beat. You do have a boss so I guess it counts regardless.
I am unsure whether this is completely allowed due to the death screen so I've marked this as age-restricted. Sad Satan will also follow suite once I play and record it.
The intro to the game is actually used in Sad Satan but in reverse
I remember(.exe) seeing people play this game in around 2016 and got very interested in playing it because I was a fan of creepypastas at the time.
Sad to think about how long ago that was but the good news is that there's a clean version of the game I can play now.
I read up on the creators comments and he seems pretty regretful of adding some of the virus-like features yet without them, this game probably wouldn't have become so infamous
Fantastic visuals, neat story and amazing atmosphere. It's crazy to me how this game isn't as popular.
As someone who is fascinated with Norway's environment, it's a breath of fresh air to have it portrayed in a gloomy and melancholic light but still remain beautiful.
The characters were absurd and weird too so that's another plus for me.
Skyrim is one of my favorite games and has environments similar to the ones here. I can honestly say I prefer the ones in this game more.
Didn't expect this game to turn horror and also didn't expect to have the menu theme stuck in my head.
Youtube's compression really fucked this up. The game does look significantly better playing it yourself
This game was amazing.
I began this game because I was enchanted by the art style but couldn't anticipate how intriguing the story would be let alone the final allegory for moving on. That hit me deep.
