FINE PRINT:
Yes, there are some additional things to mention that could impact your eligibility.
1. SHIPPING - If you are located in the Continental USA, I will pick up the shipping fee for the winner. However, I will not be able to pay for international shipping or duties/import taxes if it get's shipped out of the country. Those chosen to be a Finalist will be made aware of this before being confirmed and if they choose to back out at that time that's perfectly fine! Another Finalist will be selected at that time.
2. FINALIST SELECTION - As stated in the video, 5 users will be selected from both YouTube and Twitter for a total of 10 Finalist. Depending on the number of people that enter, the Finalists will be picked at "Random". HOWEVER, I am offering a little incentive, and proof of going above and beyond to promote my channel/profile will earn a little more consideration credit ;)
3. WINNER SELECTION - As stated before, once all 10 Finalists have been confirmed, a drawing date will be announced and the final drawing will either be pre-recorded or live-streamed. This will be a "Pick-A-Name-From-A-Hat" style winner selection, drawn by a "Special Guest" who has yet to be determined. The winner will then be contacted and arrangements for delivery will be made.
4. MULTIPLE ENTRIES - Please, "ONE ENTRY PER USERNAME PER PLATFORM". And by this, I mean no more than one Comment or Retweet with the "I'm here for the Tiger Boy Advance Giveaway" tag line. Please Retweet and comment all you want but multiple entries will not be considered in the Finalist Selection.
5. SPAM - Please, just don't. I wouldn't do it to you. But if you feel the need I will have to escort you out.
But, I think what I'm also going to start doing is giving you all an additional (short) video with the release of all new videos called "The DB Book of Bleeps".
This is more for fun than anything and I hope you enjoy my missteps!
But, in 2023 I'm doing it again because apparently I have issues with just moving on...haa, but really, there were some legitimate reasons for redoing this project again so please join me as I dive into them!

Space is cramped but I've got everything I need to keep modding and designing until the housing market decides to stop being a bitch!
Newest addition to the Basement is an Acer Predator 4K monitor, so I've now got 3, 27in 4k monitors being run on my GTX 1080 ti.
Hope you enjoy and I again want to thank everyone for their support with my Tiger Boy Advance project!
Talk soon!
However, like any "new" technology, the price was way too much for an average 8 year old to come up with, which resulted in having to find an affordable alternative. #retrogaming
And what was right there, seemingly flooding the market? The barely qualifying as a videogame, Tiger Electronics handhelds.
To put it plainly, these things sucked, but you didn't complain because it was that or nothing for most of us. But now, over 3 decades later, I decided it was time to take what I would have had and built what I would have wanted.#gameboyadvance

Well the SNES Box Go is such a project but instead of realizing how much easier it would be to go a different path to achieve the same results, this turned into a quest to take the hardest, most expensive way possible in the name of keeping the system "Original"...
Now, full disclosure, this is not a newly completed project. In fact this was completed over two years ago, but I made this video for a couple reasons.
First, I never thought that the first one really did the project any justice for what it was. I mean it was a cool project, but there was nothing in the original video that showed what went into it and why this was probably the most impractical project I've ever done.

A few weeks ago I posted a Tweet about a huge score I just happened to find at my local transfer station. But that's not even my first and with a couple finds like this under the belt, it really just made me want to make a video about them.
Truth be told, I've never been above the idea of "dumpster diving" because having worked in retail and growing up in a college town, the amount of quality shit that just gets thrown out just boggles my mind.
These two finds were no exception. And it just makes me wonder...because we as a "Console Modding" community are always getting so much flack over using original (finite) retro tech in our projects, how does condemning hardware & software like this to the dump fly under the radar?
I guess because no one knows it happened. (I mean who really is going to post their most recent dump run)?
That said though, Console Modding is on the uptick and the more eyes on it, the more eyes with no knowledge of the subject but a big virtual mouth get involved. And while I understand the concern, I'm willing to bet that more gaming consoles have met their fate in landfills or recycling centers than have ever been made into modded console creations.
At least with what we're doing, these console that were bound to the scrap heap get another shot.
Just a thought

That's right, for my 10th Anniversary back in June, my awesome wife Amanda, really surprised me with this set-up! Of course she didn't realize there was nearly a 3 months wait and it didn't arrive until mid August, but I'm not complaining, I love this thing!
Now, as far as this video goes, it's taken about 7 weeks to get to this point and it goes quite a bit outside my normal range of content. But honestly, all I wanted to do was have fun with it and not make it the typical Unboxing/Assembly kind of video.
I have no doubt the "attempted" humor will fall flat in a lot of places, but I didn't really care and just really enjoyed trolling myself in the 2nd part of the video.
So that said, this is not a technical video of how to put this together step-by-step. It's more like my experiences and an example of what "not" to do in some cases.
I've included time stamps below and will probably be updating this description in the future with other crap I forgot to include the first time.

Finished converting my old vacuum forming machines platen to my CNC. This included making a custom valve for the vacuum to the platen and a sacrificial cut surface for the plastic to sit on so I wouldn't actually cut the pegboard. Working well so far. Total elapsed time was about 2 minutes. per shield. Really excited to have this machine up and running for the first time since I bought it over 5 years ago!
Internally it utilizes original Nintendo 64 hardware for the main system and several custom components and 3D printed parts to make up the rest of it.
Originally this system was a commission for a buyer, but there was an unfortunate paint failure that happened very far into the project and it essentially made starting over an easier option.
Because of this, I decided I would finish off this project, but it is as basic as a portable system can get and though it is solid, it's not without its flaws.
However, this does present an opportunity for those who would like to get into console modding or those who already know what they are doing to add the features this lacks.
System Specs:
- Original N64 Motherboard, Cartridge Based System
- Standard Jumper Pak (Expansion Pak Required for Games like Donkey Kong 64)
- Custom Controller Board, but no built-in Memory Card or External Connector. The option to hard-wire a Memory Card to the Controller Board is possible. (Not Included)
- Battery Power Only - 2 3.7v 5000mAh Li-Po batteries with Smart Charger. The option for Wall Power is possible via the HDMI connector and a Breakout Box. (Not Included)
- Single Player Only - The option for multi-player is possible via the HDMI connector and a Breakout Box (Not Included)
- 5" 4:3 Aspect Ratio Screen - The option for A/V out is possible via the HDMI connector and a Breakout Box (Not Included)
- Stereo Speaker Output with Custom Amp and Headphone Jack.
Overall the system handles great and the controls work beautifully, with the exception of the D-Pad. It does work but is very stiff. Fortunately not many games used it, but if you're wanting to play a game that requires it, it will take some modification to make work.
NOTE ABOUT THE BREAKOUT BOX & MEMORY CARD "OPTIONS":
What this means is that original commission was going to be fully loaded with A/V Out, Play & Charge, Multi-Player and Internal Memory abilities. However, when the project was scrapped, the internals had not been wired up yet and the connections from the N64 to the HDMI connector were never made. On top of this, certain components like the Power Management board and Controller Board with Built-In memory were no longer going to be used as they are expensive and still needed to be used for the original customers project. So this made this console a very basic system all around.
That being said, the options are technically there to be wired up, but as-is will not work. Again, if you are skilled with soldering/modding you can implement these options, but it would be a project.
If you are interested in getting into the console modding hobby or are looking for someone who can do the modifications for you, please visit the Bit Built as it's a very good place to start!

Possibly the first ever SNES Portable Handheld to use Original Nintendo hardware and load games via Flashcart!
This has been nearly 100hrs in the past 4 mouths to create but I've loved every minute of it and is finally a break from the N64 portables!
Now this was not an overly complicated mod as far what's expected out of 2019 retro console portables, but it was one that was new to me and required a ground up design which took a majority of the time. Actually the most complex part of this mod was the case and layout as most of the build process was the same as the N64 portables I've done in the past.
As stated in the video, this is not a practical or "cheap" way to play games as old as the SNES, it was merely a hobby project done for my own self satisfaction. So if you're interested in one, they can be built but as a novelty only and will certainly cost more than anyone without a couple K$ to burn are going to want to spend. At least for right now...

So in a rather interesting series of events, an old project from nearly 3 years ago ended up traveling the country before returning home for a big reboot and got sent right back on its way again!
Essentially, after I sold this Single Game system on eBay at the end of 2016, it found a new home with a few different buyers, but the latest somehow found my contact info and asked if I'd be able to upgrade it for him.
The video explains the details, but bottom line, the once "single-game" system now plays "every single" N64 game that's been made, all built-in! It's a wonderful time we live in. haha!

Hey guys! I've had a couple of these boards for awhile now and am happy to have finally used one in one of my own projects! Sorry there's not a whole lot of documentation on the process, but I can say the end result was certainly worth the install time.

Introducing the DowN64p Standard Portable Kit!
I'll be hanging out with the guys from the Bitbuilt forums and will have this Portable N64 on display as well as this Exploded view display that has all the components that go into the kit open for everyone to see.
This will be my first time ever attending an event like this and I'm getting very excited to meet everyone and see some old friends! Also very interested to see what kind of response the kit idea is going to get! We will see soon enough!

Hey Everyone! Back with my latest N64p Commission that was just finished off! Nothing much new on this one but still a fun build!
#Nintendo #portablegaming #retrogaming #customhardware #electronics #3dprinting
The second of two Commissions I had been working on that was shipped out a little over a month ago. Though nothing new or different from the Shnyaps, I'm very happy with how this system turned out!
So this is a very short video, but there are more on the way!
#Nintendo #portablegaming #retrogaming #customhardware #electronics #3dprinting
The first of two commissions I've been working on for the past few months. I really wish I could turn these around faster but with such limited time these days it's a challenge to get one done in less than three months.
Anyway, that being said, these two projects have been a great deal easier than the Mithzan because it reverted back to an older style of the system, but with improvements that were learned during the process of making it.
System Specs
Original N64 Motherboard
Custom Audio Amp (switchable so when headphones are plugged in, speakers mute), N64 Controller and PCBs by RDC
5" 4:3 Ratio Display
2 - 3.7V 5000mAh Li-Po batteries
Fully 3D printed casing, buttons and decals
Wall-Power and Battery charging jacks
Built in Memory Card for games that require one to save
Expansion Pak equipped for full compatibility and improved performance.
Again, this is a basic version of the system and there is no way to get A/V out to a TV or input for multi-player. So a single player portable only.
But again, I'm very happy with how this one has come out and am excited to get this in the hands of my customer! He's been very patient which has been greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone! Today I'd like to present my latest N64 commission, The Hesline 64, named after the buyer and will soon be making it's way to Australia.
Probably one of my cleanest projects inside and out, the Hesline is also the most complex N64p that I've ever taken on. Adding features like an internal memory card, A/V out and multi-player support. Though nothing ground breaking as far as portables go, it's still the most complete unit of done.
Specs:
• Original PAL N64 Mother Board, Trimmed w/Expansion Pak
• 5" 4:3 TFT Composite Display
• 2 - 25mm, 32Ohm Speakers
• 2 - 3.7V 5000mAh Li/Po Batteries in Series for 7.4V Output
• Hardwired Original Memory Card/Controller Pak
• Custom N64 Controller Board by RDC
• Custom Switchable Audio Amp for Speakers/Phones by RDC
• Custom 3.3V Regulator PCB by RDC
• Custom Tact Switch PCBs by RDC
• 5 Part 3D Printed Enclosure
• 1 - 5mm Barrel Pin Connector for Wall Power
• 1 - 2.5mm Barrel Pin Connector for Battery Charger
• HDMI Jack for Play/Charge and Multi-Player features using included Breakout Box.
• External Breakout Box includes a 12V, 2Ah DC Adapter for wall power and a 7.4v Smart Charger for the Li/Po batteries used in the handheld. It also houses the three other player ports so full multi-player gaming is possible. Lastly, there is an A/V output on the back of the box for standard RCA video out to a TV for full sized TV game play.
This will most likely be the last commission I do for a while as I have a large backlog of projects I've been trying to get too and with time being as limited as it is, making customers wait as long as this guy had too isn't fair.
But more projects are in the works and I'm excited to finally get them off my desk!

Hey Guys, This is version two of the A/V test box I showed off last week. Ran into problems with the last one as far as PAL/NTSC compatibility were concerned. This one will only do composite video, but it is not much easier to hook up too with the addition of a screw pin connector I robbed from my old CNC machine's control box. This should be a great deal more useful as far as my projects go.

The SG-N64 is a single game Nintendo 64 Portable. Built for the sake of immortalizing one of the greatest games of all time, the SG-N64 OOT is one of my finest projects to date. It was done a bit differently than my normal routine as my CNC machines have been down ever since I tired to "upgrade" them, so 3D printing was used in all aspects of this portable as far as case work is concerned.
This unit will be for sale most likely on Ebay and if you're interested, here are the specs below.
Hardwired, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time N64 Portable
2 - 3.7v Lithium/Polymer batteries w/protection circuit and 8.4V Smart Charger
1 - PTH08080WAZ 3.3v Step Down Regulator
1 - Custom Audio Amp by RDC
1 - Custom N64 Controller by RDC
1 - 5" 16:9 or 3:4 Ratio Display
2 - 40mm Mylar Speakers
Custom Printed Casing, Buttons (exception C, B&A from a Super Pad)
1 - PS3 Joystick on Custom Breakout Board
1 - Charging Jack
1 - Head Phone Jack w/on-off kill switch
1 - Video output jack & Cable to TV.
Back-lit Tri Force Logo
All in all, I think this is one of my finest portable projects to date and though this was built knowing it was going to be sold, I'm actually kind of sad it will be laving. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'd be glad to help out.

But for the most part I have a usable and workable machine which is 3 times the sq/in cut table than my last and will be able to cut aluminum when I get to that stage.
Here it is! My second N64p Commission done and working! This has to be the fastest project I've ever done, owing mostly to the fact it was nearly a complete duplicate of the first commission, just with a few improvements made.
Notable changes in this one.
1 - New screen, 5" 16:9 Aspect Ratio with option of 4:3
2 - Relocated speaker to headphone kill switch.
3 - New vents put in the top and the back of the system casing
4 - PLA material vs ABS for the casing's side brackets & face.
This is also a Pal system because my buyer is in the UK so I had to get a power adapter for him for the battery charger and wall power.
This system was made using several different fabrication techniques which ranged from 3D printing to CNC machining and a little bit of old fashioned filling and sanding.

Hey Guys! I'm back with a finished N64 Portable commission that was completed last week and will be on it's way to the buyer early this week.
This was a pretty standard Portable N64 with not much in the way of frills or extensive features but it still took a lot of work to complete and of course had it's issues when building.
System Specs.
5" TFT LCD Display
2 - 2mm Mylar Speakers
Custom Audio Amp by RDC
2 - 3.7v 5000mAh Li-Po Batteries in Series for 7.4v Output
Standard N64 Motherboard with heavy trim
Expansion Pak
Hardwired Memory Pak
Custom 3D Printed and CNC Machined Enclosure
3.5mm Headphone Jack with Manual On/Off
Dual Power Circuit for Wall and Battery Power
As I explained in the video, ABS is a great printing material due to it's strength and machine-ability. However it takes more heat to print with and is more prone to warping. Though my modular printing format worked quite well initially, the technique I used to smooth the lines left from 3D printing caused some issues.
Acetone baths are great for printed parts of ABS material, however if the parts are being printed to fit and the tolerances are tight, this isn't the process to go as I found out the hard way. The melting of the plastic from the acetone will distort the part a bit and as I said, with tight tolerances, this just doesn't do.
So I had to make so adjustments to the original design that didn't come out as nice as I'd hoped for, but it is what it is at this point.
All in all I'm happy with how strong and well put together this one is, but I'm still bummed about the casing.

Downloaded this the other day and it's been a great deal of fun to play these past few days. The balance between challenge and simplicity is beautifully executed in this fun and humorous 2D Platformer that shows what independent developers are capable of with time and a supportive community.

Just wanted to give show off the CP playing a bit on the PC. This game is called "Ghost In The Machine" and was done by a couple friends of mine. Awesomely challenging game and a great deal of fun! Nice work Mike and Beta!
So after a nearly a year, the commission for a Cross Plane handset that never got to see the light of day through Kickstarter, has been completed.
I'd first like to thank my buyer for being as patient as he has been with this to allow me the time to really do this right and make a fine tuned product as this has become. It's been a long project but it's finally done!
I also want to thank RDC and Hailrazer for all their work they put in on the original CP, without which this would have never happened.
