Game of Thrones - Neds Promise And Jons Parentage EgalmothOfGondolin01 2016-06-28 | After so many years the theory of Jon Snow's parentage is finally confirmed. After being hinted, but not yet confirmed in the books, the show reveals that Lyanna Stark is Jon's mother. I put together these two scenes because I thought they fit well together, with Ned making his promise to Lyanna to protect Jon, and his promise to tell Jon who his mother is. This scene with Ned and Jon is not in the books, but it's a great one with fantastic subtle acting from Sean Bean. With Ned's pained expression and cracking voice, it was almost like a confirmation that Lyanna was Jon's mother.
