1962 Kellison J5 Drop Nose Coupe - 234mph Bonneville Salt Flats World Record Rally Point Garage 2022-12-30 | This is a 1962 Kellison J5 Drop Nose Coupe.The Kellison’s were made in California from 1956 through 1965. He made 2500 total of the J1 through the J6 series. This is the only one he ever made of this body style. It was his J5 drop noise, the transition between the J5 and J6. The cars were made for racing. Everything about the car was made for speed. The sister car to this one, set the world speed record of 234 miles per hour in Bonnevlle during 1962 and again in 1963. It held that record until 1988. That just shows how far ahead of his time Kellison was. Everything about the car was to boost the drag and increase the air flow. The active roof vents on top of the car allow airflow to go through and create downforce on the rear end.
