The goal for this year is to explore different franchises outside of the Godzilla franchise, this year we managed to explore the worlds of Gamera, Jurassic Park, Spider-man, and Ultraman! This goal of exploring further into other franchises sets 2023 apart from the mass appeal goal of 2022 or the experimental goal of 2021 but also widened the scope of the channel to do more outside of just the Godzilla franchise. 2023 has been an insane rollercoaster of experiences both in personal and Youtube life, 5 projects made it to this year and while i’m not as active as i used to be all of these 5 big projects meant a lot to me and it’s satisfying to be able to venture out into other franchises. We start the year off following Gamera on his adventure of stopping the evil Gyaos horde, then we witness the surreal fantastical battle between Godzilla and a demon from the past, then we took a trip to Jurassic Park’s Site B to see Dinosaur battling hybrid abominations created by InGen, then the Japanese Spider-Man with the help of leopardon must face off against Godzilla the phantom monster king himself, and finally we join Ultraman on his quest to save the earth from the malicious space dinosaur Zetton! Find out in Godzilla X Varan, Baragon, & Anguirus!The fan favorite 2001’s Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack is among one of my favorite movies from the franchise, an explosively action packed yet simple installment with an iconic portrayal of Godzilla, amazing special effects, and a bombastic score. Despite the film’s good performance that can be attributed to Godzilla’s costars in the film which had high marquee value, Mothra and King Ghidorah with Baragon getting left out of the title, an earlier draft of this movie would’ve include Anguirus and Varan with Baragon as opposed to the final product and these classic yet underrated showa monsters while not would’ve been as marketable, still presents a unique opportunity for me to put my own spin on it. Our 2nd 3D animation takes us into a 1v3 battle based on one of my favorite scrapped drafts for a Godzilla movie, and it’s my first ever proper full fight scene with 3D elements in which is still a challenging task for me, i discovered many new animating/editing techniques that you may noticed as the video progresses and it all comes down to one of the longest production i’ve ever had for a video so far and admittedly one of the most grueling as of now, but still i had a lot of fun messing around with these beautiful models done by @slightpurp3d aka PurplishModels on Deviantart, and it’s the first time i’ve included Varan in a video which is a monster i’ve always had a soft spot for. These awe inspiring creatures leaves path of destruction as they battle for the balance of the natural world, leaving humanity to wonder whether to fear or became inspired by these titans of destruction.The day of this upload marks 10 years of the first time i’ve watched Godzilla (2014), the movie that introduced me to the Godzilla franchise and would change my life forever, if there’s a definition for the word ‘special’ it’ll be this movie. I still remember going home from 4th grade when i’m supposed to be taking the school bus home, my whole family was picking me up instead to watch this movie together due to me being so curious about the trailers before, that night became history and well the rest is what am i and the channel it is now, of course as a 9 year old at the time i didn’t follow along the human plot but once Godzilla and the MUTOs appear my eyes were glued shut to the screen, the sense of awe inspiring scale, their earth shattering sound design, their beautiful designs just lit up a spark in me that day and when i saw my hero himself Godzilla in all his glory it was beyond beautiful, such a fascinating and awe inspiring character that when i found out he has 60 years worth of history i had to jump into the franchise and became a fan. For over 10 years this movie had a big impact on my life, i once wrote a paper about it in 8th grade, i made countless videos with this design and most importantly the Godzilla character himself, tons of drawings and fan art, and so much more dedicating to this movie and here we are to celebrate the first decade of being a Godzilla fan with the first 3D animation on the channel!I was interested in making animations prior to watching Godzilla (2014), but once i’ve watched it he immediately sparks a niche hobby that would take over my life these past decade, animating Godzilla. Once i know how to animate back then my first instinct was to use the GareGoji design, i also made tons of fan films and stop motions with this beautiful design because he’s just THE Godzilla of my childhood and to finally gave him a definitive tribute it’s time to dive into the world of 3D animation, took about 2 whole college semesters to prepare for this little tribute by finally learning keyframe animation in Blender, once i had the proper models for Godzilla and the MUTOs i knew this is my chance to create one of my most personal projects ever! I once again broke new grounds with this video, dare i say this is one of my top 3 projects i’ve ever done, my intention is not to make a shot by shot remake of Godzilla (2014) but rather how i would frame an alternate viewing by incorporating the 2012 mood piece and a clear short look at the fight between Godzilla and the MUTOs which the latter i always wanted to do a video with but couldn’t due to their complicated designs and lack of toys. Earlier this year a friend of mine showed me Shin Ultraman for the first time in which i didn't get to see it last year due to scheduling issues, well after watching the movie for the first time i was hooked to Ultraman once again ever since i was much younger and that inspires me to watch the original show from 1966 and eventually making a tribute in the form of a stop motion short. The Shinkocchou Seihou S.H. Figuarts Ultraman is probably the definitive Ultraman action figure currently and so he's the main star of this short along with the S.H. Figuarts Zetton as the antagonist, since he's probably my favorite Ultra kaiju currently, they fought against a snowy battlefield in reference to my favorite Ultraman episodes which has a snowy backdrop via the impressive Tsuburaya's special effects. This project is a little bit shorter than usual aside from referencing the short battles the show had it's also because of personal life getting more and more prevalent as the year closes, so my apologies for any disturbance in your viewing. A movie that would change the world of cinemas as we know it, everyone celebrates this significant milestone of an event differently and i chose to pay tribute to the sort of 'coolness' of the franchise, especially with those old vintage kenner toys and their commercials, i wanted this animated project to be as 90's edgy or one might say 'rad' toy commercials, the colorations for both the T. Rex and the Carnotaurus reflects those of their old kenner toys, it was fun designing them based on those toys especially the Bull T. Rex which boasts my favorite paint job in any Jurassic toys ever, while i also took some concepts from the unreleased Jurassic Park 4, in which they feature some of the wildest concept arts of the franchise with the hominid dinosaur hybrid, when i first saw those images my imagination went wild and it lead me into creating my own hybrids for this project, meet the Sicariuraptor and the Vindictaceratops! Bagan back in 2018 i've always wanted to make my own version of cancelled Godzilla films, most notably Godzilla vs. Ghost Godzilla which was one of the many concepts that eventually lead to Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) as we all know today, i gotta say having to make my own version of this concept was a tremendeous experience for me, i try to differentiate my version as much compared to the original concept while still taking some ideas from that and well the result is this, in my mind i wanted Ghost Godzilla to be so much more menacing with his supernatural powers and i really wanted to make this project the darkest one compared to my previous outings, this includes taking inspiration from my irrational fears from childhood where i've always think of ghost as these scary otherworldly beings that basically can alter their own existence and well i think i've accomplished enough with my version of Ghost Godzilla, this project also marks the very first time i've used the S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla (2000) Special Color Version as our main Godzilla, i love that figure and i had that figure ever since i was in grade school and i've always kept him for some big spectacular project i've always dreamed back then and now i get to finally use him, i don't know but it's such a nice satisfying feeling for me. Monsterarts line is pretty much my favorite toy line and the '96 Gamera design is pretty much the definitive Gamera design in my opinion, and this figure is practically a no-brainer in terms of being my favorite Gamera figure, i've been wanting this figure since it was first announced but never getting around to bought it but i finally got it recently and i dedicate this whole stop motion as our 2023 opening project just to showcase how awesome this figures is. There's no denying the awesomeness that is the Heisei Gamera trilogy, some of the best crafted modern day kaiju movies to date and i want to pay a lot of tribute to not only that but the entire Gamera franchise as a whole, this is the first Gamera-centric content to be featured on the channel and i want to go out my way to pay respects to this unique franchise and the impacts it had on the kaiju genre as a whole, so what better way to do that than pitting Gamera against his arch rival Gyaos! Though Gyaos here is portrayed by their showa incarnation which couldn't stand the sunlight in the debut film, but i had to do a broad daylight setting in order to render Gamera looking good so i apologize for the innacuracies that might be present in the video. Godzilla VS. Zilla: Fight for the Seven Seas! Studio • Resurgence 2021-12-31 | They came from beneath the sea, they came with an intense flaming rage, and most of all they came here to fight! Ultimate 60 Years of Mothra Tribute (1961-2021) Studio • Resurgence 2021-07-30 | Celebrating 60 years of a queen's majesty! Cthulhu: Symbol of Hades!Celebrating 5 years since Shin Godzilla first stomp it's way to cinemas, i finally made a crossover that i've always wanted to see! Since both are lovecraftian nightmares i thought Shin Godzilla and Cthulhu would fit perfectly to be in this crossover. My portrayal of Cthulhu might not be the most accurate portrayal of the beast, i was going through a more what if Cthulhu was a straightforward Toho Kaiju? And so with that mindset i portray Cthulhu the way it was presented here in the video. I also added a third monster, an "original" creation of mine called the Lelith Wyverns as a resident of the valley of a thousand wyverns, mighty warriors that are willing to do anything to protect their sacred valley.And lastly i just want to take the time to celebrate what might be the most revolutionary movie for me. Shin Godzilla was the first Godzilla movie to come out during my time as a G-fan since 2014.
